Hello Campers, Gillian and myself visited this site in 2014 and have stayed Seasonal ever since. It is sited at the side of the River Trent. It has great walks, and not far from Sundown for the grand kids. The site has two fields to chose from, great for Tenters because it has Clean Showers and Toilets, it has many extras that I'm sure you will see from its listing. The Local Pub is a 5 minute walk down the lane, Nice Pub food and drink. It's a quite site that has rules to keep the peace. We love it and will stay putt, we do intend a tour next year to Wales then the Caravan will return Home to Trentfield. Owners are very pleasant and nothing's too much trouble. It's only an hours drive so I sometimes commute! We Love the place. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Trentfield Team gave us a wonderful stay. Grass was mown well, tidy site, spacious pitches, fabulous clean facilities which were replenished timely. Shower spray can be a little forceful but you will be clean with a free spa experience!
Great to see so many kids (all ages) on a campsite having fun without the need for a play area !
Local area flat easy walks with great views of the Trent for walks to local pubs and villages.

Stayed for one night to have our first taster of camping and will definitely be returning. Very pleasant welcome, information leaflet told you everything and more. Shower/toilet block extremely clean. Local area was beautiful, right next to the river Trent with some lovely walks. Local pub a short walk with gorgeous food and excellent service. Can't wait to come back.

A great campsite. In fact will have already booked to come back. The location really makes it. You have walking access to a great pub with good beer and food and also a longer walk to the Bridge Inn. Fab breakfast. Toilet blocks are clean and they do their best to manage the usual grass issue in the toilet blocks. The tracks and paths around are great for cycling, running and walking and it was nice to find lots to do without using the car. You weren't crammed in either and there was plenty of space for children to play etc. I was glad to see the staff were quite strict about noise although unfortunately this wasn't respected by all but also good to see they had a black list of people who didn't respect the rules and wouldn't be welcomed back.

We booked on a whim for a little last minute trip fishing, not knowing the area or surroundings! As we drove up we were nervous of the power station near by but it didn't affect our trip at all. The site was beautifully clean and quite with fantastic flat spaces to pitch up. We fished at Foxfield ponds as advised by the owners and we weren't disspoainted, again it was clean and calm, just what we needed. We walked to the Bees Knees on Sunday evening for food which was fabulous, and wandered back as the sun set! We will definitely be back, its just a shame they are closed after October, everyone needs a break I guess 😉

We have mixed feelings about Trentfield. We booked on recommendation from friends and took some friends who had never been camping before so we were hoping for the best camping experience with our children and dogs. I always read reviews before booking anywhere and checked out the website that praised itself for being a 'dog friendly' site. This was the main problem, dogs have to be kept on a lead THE WHOLE TIME. I wouldn't have booked if I had known this as I don't think its at all friendly to keep your dog tied up in an open field all day. We also noticed other peoples dogs mess that we cleared up in fear of the children stepping in it.
The campsite itself is lovely, clean, lots of facilities including showers (that we didn't use) and a washing up block. The field itself was just that, 'a field'. Nothing else is in the field apart from other campers and a river over a semi steep bank. If you like somewhere quiet to camp then this is the place to go. The walk along the river to the FerryBoat Inn is delightful, really peaceful and a lovely dog walk. The Sunday lunch at the FerryBoat Inn was one of the best we've had the service was ace! All in all, the children had a great time and we will definitely be going back to the pub but due to the Dogs On Leads rule (that isn't posted all over the website like the owner said) we wont be visiting again.

Management response: Thank you for taking the time to post a review of the park.
The majority of parks have a dogs on leads policy, and with good reason, firstly on a hygiene point of view that if your dog is roaming without direct supervision, there is the risk of “mess” without the owners knowledge, secondly, not everyone likes dogs and some people are afraid of them. So we have to take a policy that works for all concerned. We are a dog friendly site and we have never had any issues from responsible dog owners who understand why we have this rule. This is clearly stated on our web site (Under site rules), as are notices around the site, and in the comprehensive information pack you were given on arrival – This is why you were spoken to on more than one occasion about you having your dogs loose by the site wardens.
As there are miles and miles of footpaths and tracks that you can have your dog loose immediately off the park, we don’t think it’s unreasonable to enforce the dogs on leads whilst at the site rule.
Your kind words about our pub and the site are greatly appreciated, and as you will have noticed the pub is dog friendly too, with the tiled restaurant and alfresco dining area both accepting dogs.
We have passed your complements about the Sunday lunch to the Chef and this is greatly appreciated and we look forward to meeting you again. |

A lovely Site, very clean and pitches are very level, it's in a quiet area and there are some great local walks. Staff are very friendly. A perfect site for visiting Sundown adventure land.
The site would benefit from having a children's play park and I would suggest they lower there prices, its a little overpriced for what's on offer however its a lovely site and I would recommend and revisit.
The electric supplied is a good amp

We have just returned from a long weekend family camping trip! We had a fantastic time in this beautifully situated site. The site itself was always clean and tidy with great staff who were constantly checking the facilities. Pitches were very spacious with a great relaxing atmosphere, noise in the evening was minimal. A lovely walk to the nearby pub which served great food at a good price. We will definitely be visiting again!
