Exemplary site!
This is THE ONE if you want pristine facilities, excellent service and beautiful surroundings. We have just returned from a 2 night stay, the 1st night just the two of us and our dog Evie, the second night with our 3 girls all under 9 yrs old. What a perfect location, so peaceful and relaxing. We can not wait to return for the August bank holiday and anticipate this to be our favourite get away for the future. Go here if you want a happy, comfortable break with superb pristine showers, excellent laundry, washing up facilities and those little extra's that make your trip wonderful. Number 1 choice for families, couples and those wanting to escape from the rat race.

What a fantastic weekend - booked the rally field for my husbands birthday. 7 caravans and one camper van. John the owner/warden couldn't have been anymore helpful. Such a friendly fella ( will look out for you at next years TT Classic). We were given all the information we needed, shown where to camp, even spare power extensions and adapters were left out for us so we could all camp in a circle, was great. We had intended to go to the local pub which is just a 10 minute stroll down the river bank but we were having such a good time at the camp we never got there. All the facilities were spot on, showers were hot and really powerful and clean at all times. Would definitely recommend this site for either a group booking or tents on the rally field or for couples/families on the touring site which is excellent. Both are fantastic. Well done to the owners you have a hidden gem. Can't praise it enough.

For our first time out with a van rather than a tent we chose this site from an advert in the caravan club book for 4 days.
We were warmly welcomed by 'John in Reception', who give us a really helpful information booklet (this contained all the usual question answers!), and a feedback card, we were then taken to our pitch.
The site does not have any hard standing, but each pitch has its own water and electric supply which was great, our pitch was level and free draining.
The toilet block has the best showers we have ever been too and are really powerful. The family shower room is a really good idea so you can all get changed and shower the little ones in privacy.
They are spotless too and 'John in Reception' doubles as the cleaner too!
Ample pot washing for sinks and the vending shop sells bacon, milk, eggs, cans of pop etc. 24 hours a day. Also a pay laundry for those who need it. The book swap is a nice idea too. There are lots of hanging baskets and planters stuffed with flowers which look great.
The location is quiet and by the river, with a 'real' country pub a 10 minute walk away. The landlord's a quirky young chap and full of beans, the food we had was excellent as well as a selection of real ales. The BBQ ribs and Steak and Ale pie were lush, a must if you go. One tip, avoid the 'Apple and Pear' Scrumpy, as its more of an anaesthetic than a cider, its too good!
The area has lots to see and do, Newark, Lincoln, Sherwood Forest, the old hall at Gainsborough all a short drive away. I'm a golf fan and I could live here! Where else on Earth can you play 18 holes for £6 - Brilliant. (10 mins away).
All in all we had a fab time, miles of walks, friendly staff team, good boozer, we will certainly return. To us its an old fashioned site with modern facilities and customer service in a fabulous area.
Our only negative was the brewery in the village, we took the Springhead brewery tour, which was expensive and short. We thought the beer was a bit 'off' and the brewery tap was very 'local', so that's a steer well clear of. Obviously not the camp sites fault though!
We thought the feedback card was a great idea too and gave our thoughts at the time.

After an awful year of pre-planned camping last year, we decided to do things a little more ad hoc this year. So when we saw it was going to be sunny on the bank holiday weekend, we decided to dust off the tent. I emailed the site on the Friday evening and before 9am the next morning they had emailed back to ask me to call to confirm the booking. I called and left a message and they phoned back straight away. Despite it being last minute they were very accommodating for our 2 night stay.
On arrival at the site (about 3 hours after the booking confirmation), they showed us to the pitch in a large flat field. There was plenty of space between the pitches and acres of grass for the kids to play on. Some of the pitches had electric hook ups but we were a little late in booking so missed out. The electric heater was sorely missed for those two nights!
The facilities were spotless and the area is lovely. There is a public footpath which leads from the site and runs alongside the river to the local village. There are some lovely pubs nearby (and at least a couple of breweries open to the public). I had the homebrew with me so didn't need to go to them but they looked good from the outside!
We visited Sundown Adventureland which was thoroughly enjoyed by a 3 and 7 year old, although looked a little dated to me!
All in all a lovely family site and we will definitely go back.

Stayed at this fantastic site for 2 nights, having picked it at random from our sitebook. We stayed in the rally field with hook up. We were warmly greeted on our arrival and shown our pitch. The toilets and showers were spotless. The water was very hot and the showers very powerful.
The location was easy to find and a gentle stroll along the riverbank takes you to the nearest pub serving local beers.
Machine on site delivering essentials e. G. Eggs and bacon etc each for £1. Excellent!
This is a working farm and there are horses in paddocks in the rally field.
We enjoyed our stay and will definitely be going back!

We've just come back from three nights at Trentfield Farm.
I have to say that we were really really disappointed with the Power Stations - not mentioned at all on any of their material. We wouldn't have gone if we'd known. I didn't look on here before I came!
We were disturbed every night with mechanical noises from the Stations - there was 10 families in our group who all were woken up. But most importantly the first night we experienced explosive bangs - the last one at ten pm which lasted for about 4 or 5 mins. It was really scary and made the kids cry - they wanted to come home and were really unsettled. We genuinely thought it was an explosion and were looking in local press. I feel the site should have a duty of care to tell families about this. It also resulted in all our cars and tents being covered in coal dust. Not nice.
You must take this into account when you are deciding to come here.
On the positive - and there are lots - the welcome was friendly. The loos ran out of loo roll twice but once mentioned the guy put some more out straight away. The showers were hot and powerful. A good site for being relaxed - campfires allowed etc. Lovely walks down the river.
But please don't go if you aren't happy to site next to a 8 tower Power Station and pylons coming out in every direction from it across the UK. Yes there are trees but the sheer height, and plumes of steam or coal dust coming from them can't be denied. If you do come I would recommend you go in the Rally field as it's further away.

Our little van doesn't go very fast so we took over 3.5 hours to get to this campsite and we were very tired. So we had a little wobble when the satnav said we were there - it was a short bit further on, but when we pulled in we were very impressed.
The welcome we had was very friendly and the owners could not have been more helpful. The campsite wasn't very busy so we had a choice of pitches (which is lovely as so many don't seem to want to give the choice) and so we had a great position and loads of space round us.
We were in a field right next to the river trent, and we could walk along the river to the pub which was also very friendly.
The facilities were excellent and very clean, and the freezer was incredibly useful. We had read up in advance so we knew there wasn't a shop on site so we had all we needed to cook a healthy dinner - which we ignored that and ate at the pub which we enjoyed very much.
Can't recommend this site highly enough, we will return.

Though I suspect that this site can get very busy there was plenty of room for me, my dog and 2 man dome tent on the rally field where we pitched up right next to the flood defences at the beginning of September, the one? decent week of the summer.
We rolled up on spec though I would imagine it's probably best to book if we get any more good weather. Stopped here for 2 nights.
The facilities are excellent with, as mentioned by others, a washing up area (though only two of the seven? hot water boilers were working when I was there), laundry facilities, toilets and showers. The showers are powerful and it can feel liked being jet washed! top marks.
The site is right on the side of the River Trent and I think there is an arrangement for campers to fish for free in place. Excellent rural footpath along the banks of the Trent both upstream & downstream.
I didn't try the local pub this time but as I will return to this site I will make a point of giving it a go next time I visit. I did visit another of the local pubs at Dunham Bridge (a 3 mile walk along the river), The Bridge Inn. This is well worth a visit as it serves pub grub at reasonable prices and is dog friendly with decent beer too!
£10 a night for a tent and a £1 for the dog seem to be average price for campsites in general and at that I guess you can't complain.
Well worth a visit!

This is a very peaceful site and despite it being the height of the school holidays and plenty of people staying it was never crouded or noisy.
The owners are very friendly and helpful, the check in easy and quick.
The site is split into two big fields either side of reception and each electric point has a water point as well.
There is one toilet/shower block with 3 toilets/showers which despite there being loads of people staying were kept clean.
The nearby pub serves good food and is only a short walk along the river bank.
The location is very tranquil right by the river, but to have tranquil means away from anywhere, and it is !
It's about 2 miles to the nearest shop of any description although there is a vending machine in the washroom that has essentials.
The pub does do takeaways but we fancied a Chinese and the nearest was in Retford which is about 8 miles away. So be warned stock up before you go cos it's a long way to anywhere.

We have just come back from a one night stay, which we booked at short notice. After looking at the reviews on here.
You are asked to leave by 11 am but if you pay a extra £3. 00, to stay later you get a voucher for £3. 00 off your meal at the ferryboat pub, which me and my partner liked the idea of. The pub, staff and food are very nice.
We were greeted at the camp site by a very friendly warden who was very helpful. This is a very clean site.
The shower and toilets do get grass in them but there is a broom to sweep the shower out if needed. I did find there was a lot of loo paper on the floor of the ladies but it was cleaned up also they have free plug sockets for hair dryers and straighteners. Both me and my partner thought the facilities were clean overall.
We really enjoyed our stay it was nice and peaceful and relaxed. We will definitely be returning hopefully soon.
One thing my partner and I thought would be helpful if they would put gravel or concrete around the water taps as they did get a bit muddy. Although we have not got young children we didn't notice a play area for them, but they is a lot of space for them to ride their bikes and play games, the children all seemed happy, that were there at the campsite.
Plenty of space to take dogs as well.
