We came here as part of the UKCampsite.co.uk Halloween Members Meet and wree greeted by a friendly chap in reception who showed us to our pitch. The weather was awful and witing 10 minutes we had a swamp outside the caravan, so John kindly provided some pallets and large pieces of wood to stop me and the kids sinking! We had the field on the left as you drive in and we had around 40 units there, the site was plenty large enough to fit us all in and we had a good spread of units with and without electric hookup. The toilets and showers coped well with the numbers, which is good and shows that it will would be fine in the height of summer. Showers were free and plenty warm enough. Lincoln is about 15 - 20 minutes drive away and is a beautiful town stooped in history. Lincoln Castle was fab and the kids had a great time there, which sometimes they find castles and the like a bit boring! Shopping is Asda about 10 minutes away in Retford for a main shop, but for the smaller shop there is a small one located in the next village, 5 mins by car or 15 on the bike. Great walking and cycling from the site as it is all so flat, so no hills to wear you out! The pub , Ferry Boat Inn, was a delicious as last time, with a great selection of food and also the did any dinner in a childs size for my youngest. A good site, that I will come back to again when in the area.

We only did one night here on the way home from touring the East coast and were greeted nicely on arrival despite the weather.
Site was a touch boggy and wet and a rally were booked in so lots of people about challenging the facilities to the max.
Seemed nowhere for the kids to play (unless we didn't spot it) but the location is very quiet, nearby pub okay for a glass but no shops nearby so if you're out of milk, it's beg, borrow, drive to fetch some or drink your coffee black!

We stayed here for a weekend with friends. A good flat site, well it is in the Fens!. But being on the banks of the Trent in this part of the country then a power station will not be far away, and indeed the view from the touring field is of a power station, in full working glory! But you can always look the other way. Toilets etc were OK. A peaceful site, not sure that we will visit it again, nothing particular to draw us back, but not a bad site.

We are new to camping and so look for the smaller and friendly campsites. Trentfield was lovely. The team there made us very welcome and the horses the kids adored. It is close to the river but is very safe for kids with a large bank at the side. The shower and toilet block are clean - though the showers can get busy at peak times. The team looked after our dog whilst we visited the nearby Sundown Adventureland. We had a fab day and so it seemed did our dog. They even took him for a walk. The only criticism that I could make is on the second night some locals decided to play music really loud at about 2am and though they were not on the campsite we were unable to raise anyone from the campsite - we rang the emergency number but only got put through to an answer machine. As we have kids with us - it would have been more comforting to have been able to get hold of a member of the team. But that aside - a wonderful place - well recommended - the kids and we had a lovely stay.

We had planned to have another small weekender with some friends of ours and had to leave it quite late in finalising the bookings due to work commitments however, having already enquired about pitches some time before with John I was pleased to find that 2 months later he remembered us and could still fit us all in (3 pitches). So many thanks to John. The site is level and the pitch sizes are whatever you need them to be, there didn't seem to be allocated pitches, (one of our party had already arrived and pitched - John said just find them and pitch up). The campers all seemed to be here for a good break (lots of people staying up late, drinking and chatting but the site was very quiet and polite). The number of showers has been covered by John and other UKCS reviews so looking forward to seeing the changes implemented. The washing up area seemed small, like the idea of big washing troughs but the rinsing trough could be better suited as a washing up space. Or change the layout and you could probably get 6 or so sinks & drainers and so eliminating quing

Note comments below. Cannot comment on the nearby power plant really as most people don't comment or have an issue with it, and as named by a UK Camp site junior member we prefer it known as "The Cloud Factory" - Our electricity needs to come from somewhere ! Regarding the showers, yes I agree, due to our popularity, which I have got to say is partly due to this web site and reader reviews we have got considerably busier than last year. However, the good news is that we have every intension of putting in a further shower block up as soon as we can. The current facilities do fall short of what we now need!, and the feedback cards given out on the site also reflect this. Pleased the toilets were found to be clean, they are done 5 times a day!

Having just come back from this site, went to test out our new folding camper, I have to say that it was a most peaceful site. Apart from the view of the power station pumping out gases and smoke. John the site owner was very helpful and showed us to our pitch. The only small moan was that the toilets and showers were inadequate and found that you had to queue every time you wanted to use this facitily. But toilets were very clean at all times.

This is my first review ever but I felt I had to write one for this site! On arrival I went to reception to be greeted by John (a very friendly bloke I must say) paid my money, then I was given a fact sheet about the site and places of interest in the surrounding area (which I thought was great). Not a lot of places make that sort of effort to give you a large fact sheet which they have done. Found my pitch, pitched the van, then went for a wander. In the shower block area you have a laundry with washing machine, dryer, freezer (which can be used at anytime free of charge) but don't forget to put your name on any item you place in there, and a pot washing area. In the toilets (I can only comment on the ladies) very clean and well kept, but with only two showers, so you have to time it well when there is quite a few people on site.
This site is in the perfect place for either a very peaceful and relaxing break or as a base camp to explore the area. All in all a very well kept site, with a very friendly owner and staff but don't take my word for it. So go and check out the site for yourself, I promise you, you wont regret it!

I just had to post a review on this site as it is one of the best sites I have stayed on. We were on the Rally field but I did have a look at the touring part and it is a very well run and clean site. The site owner John couldn't have been more helpful and friendly and had even organised some events for us. The touch I liked is the chest freezer where you can keep your ice packs frozen or even leave food in. The toilets and showers were spotless every time I went in. There seems to be lots of places to visit nearby and Retford is about 25mins in the car, where there is a couple of large supermarkets. We will be visiting this site again

I was a co-host on our meet. Beforehand I visited John & his wife to ensure everything was up to expectations. There was no need as the site is in an ideal location next to the River Trent. The facilities are clean and well presented. John thoughtfully based us in a field away from the main campsite so our partying did not interfere with other users of his site. He then put on entertainment for the children - Teddy Bears Picnic and a Car Treasure Hunt for the adults. He is the most welcoming, accommodating and obliging manager I have come across and I know we will be back to this camp site again. Not just a camp site but a fantastic holidaying experience.
