We have just spent 4 days at Trentfield Campsite and it has been most enjoyable. The site is located in a very peaceful area. There was ample room for pitching and nice flat ground. And probably the first time in years Ive put pegs in and not hit roots/rocks ! The facilities were spotless. The showers were very spacious enough for parent and child. Also probably one of the best showers we've used - nice and hot and powerful. The washroom and utility/vending room were again very clean and the vender was always nicely stocked and very reasonably priced. The owners are very friendly and took time to chat even when they were busy. In over 20 years of camping Trentfield has been one of the nicest, cleanest and friendliest that we've been to. We have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone. Well done and we hope to be back next year.

Visited this site as afirst trip in a tourer with my wife and the dog. The couple on the reception desk were friendly and helpful and we were shown to our pitch personally which had plenty of space
With services close by. I had a minor issue with setting up so I asked the guy for advice and he seemed happy to help.
The site is situated in a perfect location as far as I am concerned, I like to fish a little, its on the banks of the trent, I like a pint, its got a nice pub close by, we like to walk the dog and there are a number of routes along the river which are listed in the information booklet handed to you when you book in. It also has the power station close by which produces our electricity, and personally thought it a fantastic sight.
The toilet and shower block were clean and easy to use. Would use this site again no problem. Had to drive about four miles for a pack of paracetamol would be my only gripe, a small shop in reception area for forgotten essentials would have been nice.

Just got back from a weekend at trentfield Farm. This was our first visit to this site. We telephoned to book on the Friday morning as this was a spur of the moment getaway. We booked one EHU pitch, we didn't have to pay a deposit as we were arriving that night.
We arrived at about 6pm after navigating the narrow roads leading up to the site. The road was wet as it runs by the side of the River Trent which I suspect had breached its bank at some point over the last few weeks, only downside to this was that the front of the van looked like a mudbath when we arrived at reception.
We were given a very friendly welcome and after filling in a reservation card we were handed an arrival booklet and then shown to our pitch. The grass was very wet as it had been raining most of the day and previous days.
We were pitched next to our EHU point which also had a water point also. Various other water points were dotted about so you were never too far from a water point. We set up and enjoyed the evening. The site was very busy but after about 10pm was very quiet indeed.
The following day we had a look round as the sun had now decided to shine at last. The site does have a power station close by but is masked somewhat by planted trees, it does not make any noise and is not really a problem. P
itches were well spaced out and even thought the site was very busy didn't feel overcrowded. The shower and toilet blocks we very clean and had very powerful free showers, don't know about the ladies but the gents had three showers and three toilets, urinals and sinks.
There is also a family shower cabin outside. There is a laundry room which also has books and magazines you can borrow. It also has a vending machine for basics. There is also a washing up room. Bin and elsan emptying area was very tidy. Reception also sells ice cream from a local ice crem producer.
The site is close to the river trent and there is a lovely walk along the river bank, also very handy if you like to fish. 10 minutes or so walk from the site is a local pub which also does take away food such as Fish and Chips on a Friday night.
Overall a very pleasant stay and a great family site. Only thing I would have liked was a dog wash facility as she got very muddy due to the ground conditions.

We stayed on this site for 2 nights. It was a large mown grass field with several caravans and motorhomes on site. There was a toilet and shower block, which was often dirty due to cut grass being spread by shoes onto toilet and shower floors.
There were no specific facilities for children on site. The information room had no leaflets available. We were given a leaflet about the site and some local walks and places to visit, there is also a website
We were told the site did not flood, despite the river being very high.
The Ferry Boat Pub is about 10 mins walk from the site and offered a good value steak with all trimmings and bottle of wine for under £14.00 per head. Staff at the pub told us the previous week the road to the camp site was 5ft underwater and the camp site was partially flooded
We felt the charge of £18.00 per night was expensive

Me and my son have just had a weekend at Trentfield Farm and really enjoyed it. Its a great site for families with a great setting.
The toilets, showers and washing up room were all clean and well presented.
We really enjoyed the walks up and down the river on a evening and watching the barn owls hunting, even got to see the peregrine falcons. Ok so there's no kids play area but there's enough space on the site for the kids to run around and play.
There's plenty in the area to keep you occupied and within easy reach of Newark and Lincoln if your missing the rat race too much.
If your looking for a campsite for a nice quiet break and to relax this is the one and there's even a Pub that serves great food and beer within 10 mins walk down the river bank.
We will definitely be going back for another stay.

We stayed in our touring caravan at Trentfield Farm from 3-10 June 2012.
Very good facilities on site. Washing up area and laundry area very clean and never crowded. Washing machines and tumbler dryer in this area. Dispensers for soap powder etc. Also in this area. There is a mini library on site too which was a sweet touch (especially if the weather is bad and you haven't got anything to read).
Three shower cubicles in the ladies were very clean with powerful showers that never ran out of hot water and we all showered a varying times of the day and night. Cubicles were of a good size with plenty of hooks to hang clothes, towels etc. Stool in each cubicle if you needed a seat or just somewhere else to put stuff on.
Toilets which were in the same area were clean and always had loo roll, even in the evening.
We did notice the chimneys of the power station but we heard no noise at all coming from them. They did not spoil the scenery as trees shrouded the view.
The site itself was level, well drained and grassy. Plenty of hook ups and water points.
We found this to be a lovely site with lovely riverside walks for our rotweillers
The site is dog friendly and even though they like you to keep your dogs on leads, they appeared ok with well behaved dogs pottering off lead as long as they weren't intrusive or aggressive.
We went in the recent high winds and torrential rain but still enjoyed this campsite.
My only criticism would be that it would have been nice to have been able to visit an on site little shop that sold local produce. Instead there is a vending machine sited in the laundry area that sold certain foods.
Other than that I can not fault this site. Good value for money, friendly staff, beautiful countryside.

Definitely off the beaten track. The weather played a part being the 'drought' at the beginning of June. It rained non stop. On site when wet there is nothing to do unless you can travel and have a limitless budget. An undercover play area or club room would have been good. The 'Shop' was a vending machine! One of the ladies toilets was blocked and although the proprietors knew, it was not closed or signed in any way. Children playing with torches in the horse paddock next to us and screaming late into the night was not welcome. Remember they are probably regular visitors. We went home a day early.

Had a weekend visit to trentfeild and loved it, we have been here a few times over the past 3 years and it gets better each year.
The site is nice and flat with 2 fields one which is a rally field, the rally field ground is hard ground and you need some decent pegs.
The ferryboat inn is great for food and a good pint after a walk down the side of the river trent, also the eyer arms in rampton village is good too and not far away.
Toilet block and showers are good and there is a vending machine for butter, milk and bacon.
All in all a good site and enjoyable stay, we will be going back again through the camping season. Recommended

We stayed at this site with our friends (altogether 4 adults, 1 child and 1 dog) We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful.
The site was practical and user friendly and the camping field was flat and stone free, however the campsite lacked character. Some people have mentioned a constant humming from the nearby power station but we did not find this particularly problematic and if you pitch up with your door facing away from it you don't have to see it much. We found the site to be peaceful and quiet.
The toilet facilities were clean and well cared for and the showers hot but not many of them although there is a large family shower room next to the main block which I thought was a great idea.
There are plenty of water points so you do not have to traipse too far for water.
We enjoyed our weekend very much but got the feeling it was more suited to being a 'rally site' so would not make a huge effort to return. In conclusion I have stayed in much worse places and much better ones.
I did get the impression that there was a shop on site but I mis-read the information on the web site and it was just a vending machine selling the essentials.
The Ferry Boat pub was really relaxing, child and dog friendly. The food from the bar menu was delicious and good value for money. The Sunday dinner was nice but nothing special.

If you want a peaceful site then this is the site for you.
The site is clean, well drained and has both a caravan site field and a rally field. On this occasion we used the rally field, which has 14 EHU, well spaced, good drainage and right next to the river, where you can stroll to the local pub that serves lovely food as well.
The toilets and showers are very modern, free and spotlessly clean. There is even a fridge with items you can buy that you may run out of, like milk, butter, bacon, etc and all for a £1 or so.
Considering this is a working farm they do an excellent job of blending the two together yet never shall the two meet.
The staff are really friendly and always make sure their guests are happy with their site.
There are several walks in the area from the site. The power station that is down the road is not intrusive in any way and the access roads to the site are good, with plenty of passing places on the last mile or so from leaving the main road. Highly recommended for both families and adults.
