Just come back from a five day midweek break and had a fantastic time. The site is very clean and the added advantage is that the site has a canal and towpath at the rear which is brilliant for walking / cycling into Chester. Site was easy to find with SAT NAV and although it is on a busy main road, the site is set back from the road so traffic noise was not an issue. Only one shower and 2 toilets for each sex so can be a slight wait at busy periods but only had to wait 10 - 15 mins before shower was free. Overall a very nice site and we would stay there again.

Spent five nights at Netherwood after another adult only site kept us waiting, then let us down. I can only say they did us a favour! This is a lovely little site - effectively the back garden of an old Victorian mansion type house on the outskirts of Chester city. Very convenient for the A55 and North Wales, the M53 and the Wirral (a hidden gem), as well as roads radiating to the north and east. About 3/4 mile from a Park & Ride.

Sixteen pitches, all with lots of room, and well sheltered. Gate opening onto the canal towpath, with four pubs within walking distance. The Cheshire Cat nice for a relaxed drink, but food poor and over-priced. There is a One-Stop mini-market in Waverton 'village' which can supply most of the essentials. (Avoid the Post Office/Village store - another rip-off).

Site facilities are limited to one shower each side, and two toilet facilities. Always clean, they were stretched at peak time. Also I would echo the previous review about the veg' prep' and washing up sinks - not at all inviting. There is some recycling on the site, indeed the owner confessed to be a recycling and composting addict!

Although only grass pitches, these have an undersurface of gravel, and are well drained.

If we go to Chester again, we will definitely head for Netherwood House.

Just had a few nights at Netherwood. The site is small and clean, pleasant surroundings, next to canal. Great for walks. But I can only say that the amenities are very lacking! Only 1 toilet and shower for Gents, and the same for Ladies. For £20 a night. Only one water point ( at the other end of site ). Road noise all the time Getting in and out of site was a nightmare, off the main road into Chester. Don't park in Chester, as its no less than £5.

Just back from a cracking weekend at this lovely site. Never saw the point of an adult only site until we got the chance to go away without any kids. We will definitely be going back as soon as the opportunity arises. Very peaceful and clean and plenty of places to stop for liquid refreshment on the pleasant walk back from Chester. Facilities old but very clean. Site well laid out with plenty of space around each pitch. Very handy gate direct onto canal towpath, so no need to go anywhere near the main road. We didn't take the dog as were planning to shop in Chester but this site is great for the dog owner.

Excellent site cant recommend it enough, it is in a lovely situation and right on the canal where you can walk into Chester ( took us about an hour)not rushing. Shower is very clean and hot the fact that there is only one could be a problem when the site is full you would have to wait but we had no problem. The grounds are very well maintained and plenty of information on site re the surrounding area. My only disappointment was that there is only cold water in the washing up area but that is something that can be overcome. Well worth a visit I will certainly be going back.

I can only reinforce other positive reviews. This site is as described an was excellent for our needs.

It's compact and has all you need.

I agree the very good toilet blocks might struggle if the site was full but that certainly wasn't an issue when we were there.

There's a little village shop and a garage selling basics close by and of course larger supermarkets within a short drive.

The feature I'd emphasise is how easy it is to cycle into the very centre of Chester along the canal towpath. We used this site as base and needed to get to the station each morning, it was a delight to cycle there and back each day (just 20 minutes)

Can't really fault it.

Stayed here at the end of October - just before the site closed (on 31st).

Lovely site, big pitches, plenty of room.

No view as such, other than over the site itself, but that's no bad thing. Nice well kept grounds, big mature trees with squirels and rabbits roaming around.

The site borders the canal, which is nice as you can watch the narrow boats pass by.

Small amount of road noise, but not that it disturbs once inside the van.

Small loos, one shower, one urinal and one wc, which while we were there didn't cause an issue, but at busier times might.

We had been told to try the Ring o'Bells pub, but it was closed for a refurb (pub of the year 2011/12) but ended up at the Plough, a little further out, and the food there was EXCELLENT! Good value, well cooked and well worth a visit.

We had this site recommended by friends, and would happily recommend this to others.

Bear in mind its adults only.

Having just returned from our stay at Netherwood, we found the site to be very nice indeed. The pitch sizes were generous. Quiet site with easy access via the canal to Chester. A walk along the canal walking away from Chester approx 20mins is The Black Dog Pub, well worth a visit lovely grub. If we had a small concern it would be that if the site was full you may struggle with only one shower for men and one for women. Would we come again YES definitely.

I'm very reluctant to leave a review. We have been back to this site four times and it's just such a wonderful and peaceful setting that I don't want it found!

You can sit in your camper or caravan and watch the narrow boats go by. It's close enough to Chester to walk or cycle.

Pubs both ways if you walk along the towpath.

Motorcaravanners, once you are pitched, everything is within walking distance, no need to use the road. However if you need to there's the bus close by and the park and ride.

This is an unspoilt site, family run. Adults only. Dogs allowed. Clean shower and loo.

I wouldn't keep returning if I didn't love it so.

Beautiful Tranquil place, adult only site right by the canal. The map supplied isn't very good, even though we only lived on the wirral 30min down the road, following the map took us over an hour to get there. Easier way head to the cheshire cat, its about 300yrds past it and go slow because the sign is small and it creeps up on you quickly, if you reach the BP garage you gone too far.

The site was so peaceful even though you turn in off a busy road, the noise wasn't noticeable. The owner of the house met us at the window, gave us the pitch number and told us where the bits and bobs are.

You need metal pegs for this site, it looks like it's all grass but the grass is only on the surface, its pebble underneath.

It rained quite a bit the week we were there, but the place wasn't waterlogged at all. If you love watching wildlife well this is the place, baby bunnies running around everywhere, so cute.

The was only 1 fault to this place and that is the dish washing and vegetable prep areas look like they were the one's supplied when the place opened in 1966; belfast sinks, no drainer and too close 'for my liking' to the grey water facilities.

Shower and toilet facilities adequate for a short stay only. Small wood cabin near the toilet block gave lots of info on the area and on places to eat, we tried the cheshire cat, won't be going back there again, no more said!

Beautiful walks/ bike ride through to Chester in 15 min. Would consider going back for a short break only. I don't like to wash my dishes in my van, that's my only beef.
