Lovely site, quiet and peaceful, right next to the canal which was a delightful evening stroll.
The lack of full time warden did not detract from the site and the no contact book in was easy.
Good facilities which were clean and well maintained.
Only two minor gripes, no facility for emptying the onboard grey waste tank in motorhomes and the narrow entrance.
These aside we had a delightful stay and would definitely return when next visiting Chester.

A lovely site which we went to both last year & this year. We were very sad to hear that the site has now been sold.
The site has access to the canal towpath which is very useful for cycling into Chester.
We hope the new owners will improve both the WiFi & TV reception. We were unable to get our small TV to pick up a signal & the WiFi was very intermittent.

Great location for walking along the canal towpath into Chester
Some of the trees are getting very high and restricts the sun shining onto your pitch.
There is quite a narrow road entrance onto the site which needs attention to improve access.
Great care is needed when exiting the site due the speed of the traffic on the A 41

Sadly this site really doesn't live up to its potential.
The location is pretty good, being next to the canal towpath to Chester, near a couple of pubs and the grounds are picturesque. A special mention too for the wardens, who are camped on the site, they are very friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, the positives end pretty much there.
This is a mostly grass site, with only three hard standing pitches. It was a bit muddy throughout after a few days of rain showers, with only the untarmacked track around most of the site.
There is only a short, narrow, sloping, bricked path to the toilet block, which is slippery when wet and only starts after walking across muddy grass.
The toilet block is very small, only two toilets, one shower and one sink each for both male and female. Although they are nicely appointed and clean inside, they are cramped for space and seem inadequate for the size of site.
The chemical waste disposal is poorly situated right next to the male facilities door. When in use, with metal lid removed, it is completely open and only a few feet from the washing up sink.
We usually leave booking until a couple of days beforehand at this time of year. I phoned maybe five or six times without answer, so I eventually sent an email and received a reply the following day.
The website prices are out of date and refer to 2020, plus the booking link does not work. There is also no mention of hard standing pitches.
Upon arrival, the young lady at reception had no notification of our booking and I had to show her my email before she allocated us pitch No4. It was under trees and shaded throughout the day even when the sun shined. Consequently, it was damp and pretty wet most of the time.
We found out after our visit that the site is up for sale, which is maybe why there hasn't been more effort to improve the facilities. Whoever buys this could turn it into a little gem, maybe we'll wait until that happens before returning.

Lovely site, welcomed by Peter on arrival, lovely large pitch. Easy check in.
Facilities good, security gate on to canal has a combination lock which some campers seemed incapable of locking🙄 but it felt a very safe site.
Sandra and Peter were excellent wardens and even offered to help when packing up in the rain. They couldn’t have been nicer.

Very well situated campsite , 1 hour walk into centre of Chester via canal towpath. 2 pubs within walking distance (15mins). P&R close too.
Site very Well kept, facilities adequate for number of campers when we were there ( Autumn).
Site hosts Pete and Sharon very friendly. Meet and greet very good.
