Good campsite in an ideal location to explore Chester. The grounds are well kept and clean, perfect for a break.
The only downside (as others have already mentioned) is the lack of toilet facilities. One shower and 2 toilets for the whole campsite. We went out of peak season and had to queue up, I can imagine at high season when the site is full, the queues would be very long.
Having said that, we had read the reviews and were aware of what to expect. We intend to visit next year as well as we had such a good time.
There were road closures planned for our first night there so Michelle mailed us in advance as a heads up and suggested alternative routes to get there, this was greatly appreciated.

Fantastic site very close to chester by bus, taxi or on foot.
You can even order fresh bread to be delivered to reception for your breakfast.
A small and well kept site this is our second visit and we will be back next year.

Excellent site location wise for access to Chester.
Facilities were perfectly adequate and clean. Showers good with plenty hot water. We tried the home made rolls and scones delivered fresh in the morning which were amazing.
The whole site was clean and well kept and very peaceful and relaxing. The good weather on our visit helped and credit to the owner who we believe attends to everything single handed.
We did not want to leave and will be back.

Lovely site set in grounds of Netherwood house, backing onto the canal. Lovely walk by canal into Chester, with pubs on route with good food.
Site expensive for what’s on offer, especially the £2.50 dog charge.
Shame but the facilities were very disappointing. Shower was dirty with cobwebs galore, although floor clean, walls were not.
Water not controllable and very hot. Washing up facilities were next to the Elsan disposal point. Everything looked very tired around that area.
Apart from the facilities we loved the site

Why are our favourite sites so far away! Loved our stay her. Great location for exploring Chester which is a lovely city, right on the canal. Lovely atmosphere at the site.
No complaints about the facilities. We will return and recommend

Disappointing facilities. No hot water for dishes and dishwashing area is right next to elsan point with no screening.
One shower for ladies and one for gents and both badly in need of upgrading.
The location of the site is v good so it is a shame that the facilities are lacking.

Stayed at this small site April 12 to 15 2018. The weather was appalling on Thursday and Friday. But Michelle th owner of this site. Was on hand to help with any watery problem that might occur.
We shall certainly be back later on in the year. To see several promised improvements. Michelle deserves all the support she can get. And we wish her great success with Netherwoods. She works so hard. For the campsite guests. Excellent owner and site.

Nice quiet site. Good size pitches. 20 minute bike ride into Chester along canal tow path. 2 pubs/restaurants along the way.
Showers are a bit dismal, only one in gents & ladies and in desperate need of TLC and only one water tap for whole site. For £23 a night it's a bit expensive and even more in high season & bank holidays.
Been on better sites for less.

It is difficult to recommend this site to anyone who needs to use sanitary/washing facilities.
There was only one WC, shower, small sink in the male room, and similar + 1 wc in the female. The washing up was a cold water outdoor sink.
The rest is superb. Delightful walk (50 mins) into Chester, canal side; good local buses, welcoming staff.
Shame.
