This is a real gem. We took a small motor boat so this was an Amazing location directly on the canal. Its only a 40 min walk into Chester along this and with great pubs a stone’s throw away. The Cheshire Cat was fab. The village is a ten minute walk part way on the canal and is just beautiful.
The ste itself is a lovely size and beautifully kept. Great central space for picnics and ball games which stops you feeling like everyone’s on top of each other.
It has a lovely vibe and would honestly suit everyone. Check in was great the young girl was knowledgeable and just lovely. Internet was fast absolutely no problems there.
The toilets are small yes( only2 femail), but always clean I never found I had to wait once! The shower was great, powerful with a Good charging space !
The washing facilities were great too, it’s all beautiful and rustic with real charm.
I can’t speak highly enough of it and I can’t wait to come back.

Lovely quiet site, excellent access to the canal for walking and cycling into Chester.
Close to family friendly activities such as Chester zoo and North Wales beaches.

Really good site, they allow dogs too. Not too big and its quiet.
There's a road close but we didn't really notice it at the top of the field near the canal, which is nice to walk along.
It's close enough to everything but still feels rural.
Would definitely recommend it.

Nice small & relaxed site in a convenient location for Chester & walks straight onto the canal.
Good shower but think there should be more than one per gender.
A slightly better sign post at the entrance off the main road would make for easier access.

This is an idyllic little gem of a site, just about 3ml south east of Chester and right next to the Shropshire union canal. Just a small site within easy walking distance to chester(50mins). 3 pubs within 20 min walking distance. Park and ride at great broughton chester city centre.
Facilities at the site are well kept, 1 shower and 2 toilets and hand basin in both men and women. Washing area is adequate although I think the black waste and grey waste disposal area could be vastly improved. 1fresh water outlet at the opening of the site, but could really do with another at the top.
I know the owners are going upgrade/improve the facilities as they only took over recently. All in all it's a lovely well run site and I look forward to seeing the results of expanding the site in the near future, definitely recommend.

Good site, level & only one shower but didn’t present a problem.
Canal walk into Chester, approx 1 hour & 15 mins drive to the Zoo, which was well worthwhile.
Ate at the Cheshire Cat, good meal reasonably priced.
Good stay, even in spite of the grey weather

Lovely quiet site. Only one shower for about 18 pitches but I never had to wait once. Brilliant walk along the canal to Chester. They say 2 miles but into the centre it's 3.25 Taxi back was £8 or there are buses.
We only got a taxi because it was raining so much after we got there. Don't bother with the 30 min boat ride, you're only seeing houses. Some supposedly from years ago but really £16 for 2 people.
Rowton arms few mins on the left as you come on to the main road. We found Cheshire cat rude when we tried to get in there without a booking so didn't try again.
Lovely site. Would def recommend

Pros: proximity to Chester and the canal. Pleasant green site with trees, shrubs and grass. Spacious pitches.
Cons: Poor welcome. Inadequate wcs/showers for number of pitches plus camping ground.
Showers need a thorough clean. Facilities need cleaning/inspecting more often. Hand sanitisers were faulty or empty.
