This is definitely the best site we've ever stayed at. We booked at short notice, but were accommodated with no problem. The staff were welcoming and very professional. The toilets, showers and bathroom were immaculate, modern and a joy to use. There were plenty of dish-washing sinks in a separate room. The site is arranged so that no-one is too far from one of the two amenity blocks. The pitches are spacious, and the whole site is kept beautifully, and of course enhanced by the natural beauty of the Herefordshire countryside. It's great to be able to walk straight into the town of Ross from the site, too. We shall visit again!

Just returned from Broadmeadow, and have only praise for the site and staff.
On arrival we were given a very thorough description of site facilities and were provided with a very useful map of Ross on Wye. The campsite, itself, was well maintained with spotless toilets which incorporated a bathroom as well. The two ponds made a pleasant area to walk with a well mown field adjoining it. No hint of any road noise as some previous reviewers stated. In fact, probably the quietest site we have ever stayed at.
The town of Ross is highly recommended for all its shops and restaurants. We actually tried the Indian Summer restaurant where you can take your own bottle. The food and service were excellent.
All in all, it amounted to a very relaxing and enjoyable weekend stay. I would highly recommend this site, and will certainly return.

This was one of the best sites we have visited. It was beautifully laid out and maintained. Pitches are spacious and each four have their own water supply. Its a mile to walk right round the site then there is a park with 2 lakes and the best dog walk we've seen, alongside.
The reception, in the middle, had many beautiful containers of summer flowers. Reception sold the freshest eggs we've had for a longtime and jars of home made jams and marmalades, the proceeds for charity.
The two facility blocks had more showers each than I've ever seen before and were always spotless.
The site became busy on Friday night but it still felt spacious and there was never a queue for the showers.
One end of the site was a little noisy from the traffic on A40, so avoid the North end.
We loved the fact that we could walk into the centre of Ross on Wye in about 7 minutes.
Don't be put off by the entrance through a small industrial estate, with roses and clematis up the fences, this site is spectacular.

We visited this site for four nights Friday to Tuesday and found it is an immaculately kept site.
The reception is in the centre of the site with a camping area on each side and a dog walk area opposite.
The camping areas were mainly grass pitches which were well marked out, on the electric hook-up bollards there was water taps so not too far to fetch water. There are plenty of grey waste points around the site and 2 Elsan points one at each of the two toilet blocks.
We were lucky enough to have a pitch at the front on the first camping field and with no pitches in front of us and could see the ponds etc from where we sat. Over the weekend it was busy with lots of tents and large groups of families and friends but no noise to speak of.
The only down side is that if your pitch was on the far field the noise from the A40 would be annoying but I could not hear it from where I was pitched
There are two toilet blocks and although I only used one I believe both blocks are the same. I found them to be spotlessly clean and they even have a bathroom, the only down point are the showers are the push button types which I personally find annoying.
The toilet block also requires a code for the push button pad which although didn’t bother me an older lady was struggling to see the numbers when I was there. The toilet block also houses a dishwashing area, disabled toilets and launderette.
The dog walk area is the same length of the camp site and almost as wide with 2 ponds, at one pond there where people fishing and there were also a couple of benches dotted around to sit on. This area was as immaculate as the rest of the site with well mown grass and a lovely area to walk with or without a dog.
There is a young children's play area but as I had no children with me I would find it hard to comment much on it
Finally the site is very close to a Morrison’s (about 5 minute walk away) and Ross-on-Wye centre about 10 minute walk. All in all a very nice sit and would recommend it if you were in the area

We've been here a few times as it's within easy reach for a weekend for us. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Toilets and showers cleaned regularly - we even saw them being cleaned and stocked at 11 at night ready for the next day!The site is realy well maintained.
Personally, I don't mind the rules and regs especially children's bikes as I think they can be a real hazard on campsites.
I really love the fact that you can just park the car and leave it until it's time to come home, one or two lovely riverside pubs in Ross and some nice shops too.
The site is a little pricey but we more than save as we don't have to use the car or pay for any parking.

Firstly, the positives!
The site is immaculately kept and the wardens and staff are very pleasant and helpful. Toilet blocks immaculately maintained. Beautiful situation (even though you have to drive through a lorry park and run down industrial site to get to it. Although we did know this before arriving, it was a bit of a shock all the same!)
On the down side, it was a bit on the expensive side for what you actually get and if you compare Riverside at Stratford and this site, then Stratford would come out winners for us every time!
We had a few niggles, the dog walk is accessed via a really heavy metal bar gate and is difficult to negotiate as you have to pull the handle out and grasp on for dear life (with an old dog it is difficult believe me) it wouldn't take much to put a small gate to the side!
Also, the pitches are a bit on the small side and regimented all in a row. We weren't fussed on the set up and couldn't really relax while we were there. We were also a bit surprised that they allow large all female and male groups of which there were a couple (the first night they were a bit rowdy until about 1 o'clock in the morning. But they did go quiet around 11.30 2nd night so we guess something must have been said)
A word of warning, up towards the top of the second half of the site up past the Reception, really suffers from road noise as the Ross by-pass runs right by the site and I'm afraid it really detracted from my stay as it was just too noisy for me.
All in all, beautifully kept site but it'll be Statford next time for us!

Ideal site for Ross On Wye town. Plenty of shops within a 10 minute walk. Site immaculately clean and tidy. They do have sensible rules and that is why the site is so well cared for. Suited to those looking for peace and quiet.
Showers and toilets clean and plenty of them. One minus point is for the push button showers, need to keep pushing to keep water hot so one-handed washing required. Small playground and plenty of grassed areas, all well kept.
Ideal for a quiet fishing trip as lakes on site. Plenty of wildlife around the water, swans and ducks. Morrisons right on the doorstep (Cafe closed till Autumn 2010). Staff friendly and helpful. On our list for future return.
Entrance is through a bus depot and road is very dusty when buses moving about.

Our 6th stay here was very enjoyable. Site was as usual clean and well tended with helpful staff. Toilets and showers were still excellent with a separate bathroom for those who prefer to soak.
Minutes walk to the town is the best feature. Morrisons is next to the site, but unfortunately the cafe was closed whilst major building work was taking place. The pitches are far enough away for noise from this activity not to interfere with the peace.
We were slightly bugged at paying for every single item eg. gazebo, day visitor, day visitor's car etc which brought the cost up to above £25 per night. We would still go back for a short stay so I guess that says it all.

My partner and I have just returned from a three day break in Broadmeadow Caravan Park.
We have been camping for many years, all over the country and abroad. I must say this site is about as good as it gets.
The site is is kept to a very high standard, with good size pitches and the shower / toilet blocks were immaculate throughout.
If I try to be objective and look for the negatives about this site, I fail, as it is fantastic, and has a great location just a short stroll from the village of Ross.
I must also mention the staff who were warm, friendly and a pleasure to deal with. We will be back.

We camped here with 5 other couples, it was brilliant. The site is well planned out and the pitches are a real nice size, plenty of room around each tent.
The showers and toilets were immaculate, you had a code to tap in so no unauthorized person could use them. The owners were friendly and pleasant and take pride in their site.
The town is just a few minutes walk away which has plenty of places to eat and drink. This is one of the campsites we all said we would like to return to.
