Just come home from a lovely weekend in Ross on Wye broadmeadow campsite was perfect.
As people have said you have to drive through some horrible coach park but after that you forget it's there.
It's easy to find and in walking distance from the town and river there's plenty of places to eat and drink and the scenery is fantastic.
We took our dog with us and there was a lovely walk round the lakes in the campsite.
Morrisons is a 5 minute walk away which is very handy
Electric hook ups on all pitches showers were warm and clean
As it was a bank holiday there was a Regatta going on so the place was bustling
We would definitely go back.

Very nice looking site and the location is brilliant. When we arrived we struggled a bit with a problem with the jockey wheel, we saw this man watching but didn't offer to help as most caravanners would, more of a shock as we later found out it was someone working on the site.
We have never stayed on such an expensive site but thought we would have a treat, nothing different to other sites we've stayed on for half the price.
We were very disappointed to see that there were NO recycling facilities.
We have been caravanners for about 25 years having stayed on numerous sites, always with a pet dog. There is a fabulous field/dog walk but was told we had to keep the dog on a lead, what sort of exercise area is this. When I asked if there was anywhere I could play ball with my dog I was told to cross a busy dual carriage way and if there were no cows in the farmers field then maybe I could play there!
Sorry but I will not be returning.

A very nice site with many positives, would recommend it highly. Easy to find and access; okay, you go through a shabby little bus park first but you're not staying there. Warm and helpful welcome, shown to pitch which was a good size. Hard-standing nicely done. Immaculate toilet block inc. Bath. Electric and water housed in very nice brick towers. Only 10 minutes into Ross (past Morrisons) which is a nice town. Lovely setting and views.
A shame to see some earlier comments to be honest; a little pricey hence 9/10 but 9. 5 would be apt.
Go there!

My wife and I stayed at this site early in April. It was our second visit. The site was beautiful, with a clean, well kept toilet block. We received a warm welcome and were shown to our pitch with the minimum of fuss. The surroundings in the site were lovely, with swans on the lake, and people fishing. The grass pitches were level and beautifully mown. Nearby, within easy, level walking distance is a Morrison Supermarket, with all you could need. Do not be put off by the approach to the site which seems to be through a bus 'grave-yard'; once through the gates you could not find a nicer site!
We will be back, and have recommended it to our friends and fellow caravanners!

A tad disappointed with this site. Advertised as 5 star but to be honest it doesn't quite go far enough for the money charged. The pitches were small and very close together, by the end of the weekend it looked rather like a caravan show ground as they were so tightly packed. We were lucky as the pitches next to us stayed vacant all weekend, but we were the lucky amongst many not so lucky.
The dog walk area was very nice, but as it was also the fishing lake area it was not allowed to let the dogs off - our dogs don't like 'performing' on the lead so this was a bit of a problem.
The facilities were clean and tidy at all times, but a bit dark in the showers and the water ran dangerously hot at times then a bit luke warm on others so not great for kids or those with mobility issues. Excessive signage everywhere in my opinion - and code entry for facilities seemed over the top - who were they trying to keep out? Great location for visiting the town, and Morrisons perfectly located for provisions.
This was the most expensive site we've stayed on, and even taking into consideration the peak bank holiday I feel it was seriously overpriced. We wont be returning as we can stay at better for less even on a peak weekend.

I have toured for many years in all types of weather but this site has beaten me. You cannot stop the elements but you can be prepared for them, I am sorry to say this overpriced site had not. Substandard drainage, small tightly packed pitches and a couldn't care attitude of staff means no return.

Just got back from a brilliant weekend at this site. Very clean, excellent facilities and good sizes pitches throughout. Owners are very pleasant and very accommodating. The site is in a perfect location for Ross On Wye literally a few mins away.
Local pubs serve good food, we visited the Eagle Inn literally 10 min walk away, child friendly. Even though my meal would have taken 15 to 20 min to prepare (my choice I might add) I asked for the children's meal to be brought to the table first so they wouldn't have to wait to eat. This request was carried out forthwith. Well worth a visit.
Also strolled down to the 'Riverside Walk' and found 'Hope and Anchor' pub, very picturesque and serving fine ales.
Will definitely be going back this campsite. Well worth the travel from Yorkshire.
If I had to make one criticism it would be the showers are a set temperature, this being to HOT. Even I enjoyed this it was overheard that children saying to their parents they were too hot. This was only on the last morning though all other times were perfect.
This site is well worth a visit.

After we found the site (after driving through an industrial estate or at 10:45pm that evening as I walked through it with no lighting what so ever, re-christened 'muggers ally') I have to admit I had my doubts, but they were quickly overcome.
It's a nice site, set out well, clean and tidy with good shower / toilet blocks. We almost had our own private water tap (many of them on the site). The staff were helpful. (Especially explaining the many rules)
My wife had booked the site for one night and Stood at reception I was about to correct them as to my bill (thinking they had charged for two) until I saw the site charges listed ! Oh we'll !
I must commend them for the fact that free wifi is available and not charged for. My old IPhone struggled by my daughters kindle got it no problem.
It has a decent children's play area.
All considered, it's a fairly well run site and if it was about £10 cheaper I would visit it again!

This is a clean and well manicured site but lacks a friendly atmosphere. Although it boasts a play area it is not in the best of locations and the site is not really child friendly.
It is the most expensive site I have used this year. The fact that Bank Holiday week had about 10% occupancy demonstrates others think likewise. Annoyingly they are quite happy to bolster the price further with unexpected add-ons not published on their webpage. I for one will never return.

My 8 year old son and I visited Broadmeadow in June to stay in a touring caravan with my parents. We have visited the site several times before and we can highly recommend it. The site is accessed off of an industrial estate which can seem a bit daunting at first but when you drive through the gateway onto the sight it seems like you are in a different world! The site is very well maintained and very tidy. We were lucky enough to get a pitch overlooking the lake. The lake is also great for walking the dog. There is a small children's playground and a shower block which is very clean and spacious. There is a also a bath tub in case you miss your home comforts! The owners are very friendly and helpful. We recommend the Indian Take-away in the Town or there is a huge Morrisons supermarket just outside the site for all of your grocery needs. This sight is not the cheapest campsite that we have ever stayed on but you are paying for the well maintained pitches and its location which is near to Monmouth and Symmonds Yat. If I had to pick any holes it would be that the A40 road that runs along near the site is a little noisy but this is not the site's fault!
