Well what can I say about this site that hasn’t already been said. I have been to this site for the past three years and can’t fault it. We have always been meet with a friendly face, there is all sort of rules for the kids due to there being no play area for them, but I haven’t yet seen any members of staff stop them from doing the things they shouldn’t which is nice to see.

Facilities are the best I have seen and used, if you like walking this is the place to be, there are some great bargains to be had in the outdoor shops in the village along with gift shop galore. I have to agree with most people about the entrance there is no room for error with all the parked cars however the site more than makes up for that short coming. The trains are not that intrusive and if you are like me and love anything aviation then you have the added bonus for the RAF valley boys and gales doing low level manoeuvres though the valleys. It is a picturesque site and place to be with shop and cafes in abundance.

Negatives for me has to be the pubs in the evening I found then a bit miserable to say the least which was very disappointing when you don’t want to drive, so spent most evening having a drink in the Caravan. I think it is safe to say though I will be going again this year.

Just got back after spending three nights over the New Year break at this CC affiliated site. What to say. ? The touring area of this site is situated at the back of the static area with the site being located on the outskirts of the village; close to the golf club and near to the river.

The facilities are what you would expect when visiting any club site; reception combining small shop selling the usual essentials, spotless heated shower block containing toilets, showers, laundry and dish washing facilities. The site also provides chemical waste disposal points and a drive over motorhome waste point along with numerous fresh water points.

There is however no children’s play area on site and the dog walk is located off site with plenty of walks along the river. Pitches are all hard standing (except for the tent area) and of a generous size and a number are fully serviced having their own water supply and grey water drainage. The wardens / site team are extremely friendly and can’t seem to do enough. The only negative thing to say is that for the number of pitches, the shower / toilet facilities could do with being larger (only 4 showers in the gents, not sure about the ladies).

As previously mentioned, the site is located on the edge of the village which is only a 10min walk away over the railway bridge to the main shopping area. Yes the site is located next to a railway line but in all fairness, the trains are that infrequent that they really don’t cause a problem. On the flip side to that, there is a small railway museum / exhibition located next to the main line station which also has a railway where you take a ride for £1. 50 behind a miniature steam train. Betws-y-Coed itself is more geared up for the outdoor person with plenty of shops selling outdoor wear and plenty of walks starting in the village. There are numerous places to eat ranging from fish ‘n’ shops to cafes to hotel restaurants.

This isn’t the first time we’ve been to this site and it won’t be the last despite the events of the latest trip. What am I talking about – the site was put on evacuation alert whilst we were there due to the continuous heavy rain! The surface water drains that discharged in to the river nearby didn’t appear to be coping with all the rain so had started to back-up and discharge on to the access road. Add to the expected high tide, this all led to a couple of interesting hours watching pitches slowly be overcome by water. In all fairness to the site team, they did all they could in the circumstances to keep the site ticking over until the panic was over. Despite this, will we back, you bet – the facilities are top notched and the location is idyllic.

Enjoy

Another really cracking weekend at an yet another excellent site in North Wales. This was our second time at a Morris site and they really are excellent. Facilities really great – nice pitches (gravel is a little annoying) – nice clean and warm showers and toilet block – site is immaculately well maintained and a really easy short walk to the village – but the staff really do need to learn to smile a little more!

The site is clean but that is achieved with acres of concrete and gravel. Seems a shame to come to this beautiful part of Wales and stay in a car park. Good facilities in terms of hook-ups, toilets, showers, etc. We only met one member of staff but we really didn't feel welcome on the site. It's close to town but I'd happily take the short walk in from one of the other sites near by.

We have just had a lovely weekend here on a near perfect site. We booked some time ago on a super pitch with water, drain, tv hook up etc but they do have electric only pitches too. I am told the site is always full so book early as the 'site full' sign was out when we were there.

The pitches are large and lovely and flat with just a tiny amount of levelling required. There is a shop on site selling provisions and camping stuff. The toilet facilities are 5* plus. Clean, modern and warm. Fab hot showers with taps not push buttons and cubicles for shaving etc. Lovely laundry area and pot wash. In fact the whole site is immaculate.

If you want to leave site, there is a train station right on the site taking you to all the lovely places around. Conwy and llandudno etc all in easy reach and also plenty of buses too. If you want to take your motorhome into Conwy, there is designated motorhome parking just beneath the castle. The village of Betws-y-coed is a e minute walk away and is so pretty with some 16 bars and eateries, good provision shops, gift shops and coffee shops.

This really is a fabulous site for location and facilities although not really suitable for children as lots of rules about balls, frisbees, skates, scooters etc none of which are allowed. My only complaint is the reception staff could be a little friendlier, no smiles or warm welcome and the same when leaving really. It doesn't take much to ask if we had a lovely stay! Apart from that very small gripe I would be back in a heartbeat.

The most expensive camp site we have ever stayed in but worth the money. Superb toilet block - lovely and clean and warm. Closing for two hours in the middle of the day is a bit bizarre but they do open up the disabled loo so you can still use the loo in that time.

Very quiet site. We stayed for two weeks and loved it. You get a digital tv point so we have now (unfortunately?) had the luxury of tv while we are away and might have to invest in a digital arial for our next holiday!

The passing trains are a good way of guessing the time on a morning, you soon get used to them - I don't think the first train of the day woke me up after the first day.

The site is superbly located in the centre of Betws y, just nip through the station and you are there. Betws y is a lovely centre from which to do snowdon and other hills / mountains and shorter way marked walks round lakes, in woods, etc. It's a drive (or a train journey!) to Conwy and Llandudno.

There's a fantastic cycle path between the two and walking round the walls of Conwy is free. It's also a short drive or train ride to Ffestiniog where there is a lovely steam train to Porthmadog. We didn't go on it but did a lovely walk around the lake - never saw a soul except on passing trains or in the tea shop. That's what is so good about snowdonia - it's like the lake district but without the crowds, unless you climb snowdon itself.

I would definitely go to another Morris site if I was looking to camp in an area where there was one. I struggle to find any negative points about the site or the location.

Lovely clean site and very close to town. Washing up facilities and laundry close at silly times, I wonder why? Quite pricey and they charge for dogs in your own caravans and motorhomes.

One big downside is about The Royal Oak Hotel which has a sign at the front door about being dog friendly. Not! It was raining, I have 2 small dogs and I wanted some lunch so I asked at the bar if dogs were allowed inside because it was raining very heavily outside only to be told 'Oh no most definitely now'. The floor was tiled and there were several tables located near doors, ideal for people with dogs. I asked again because of the horrible weather to be told no.

Other than that a lovely weekend.

First time visit to site easy to find, nice and central for exploring Snowdonia. Ample size flat pitches all hardstands with electric,

Toilets and showers are excellent but having a key to enter the toilets was a bit frustrating,

I was sited at the bottom next to the Railway line (1st train 6am) and near the sewage works, not pleasant, having a bike was useful as the toilets were 300yds away. Will I return, NO.

This site is in a excellent position for exploring North Wales and in particular Snowdonia, the site is situated in the lovely village of Bettws-y-coed with plenty of places to get a drink or meal and there are a lot of gift shops and outdoor clothing shops, the railway museum and miniture railway were also worth a visit. We left the car on site and travelled by train to LLandudno, the station is a short walk from the site. The site itself was kept spotlessly clean thoughout our visit by the excellent wardens. However, our pitch was near to the railway line and the first train ran past at just before 6am, so we were up very early due to the noise of this train! Would I return to this site? Probably not as I do enjoy my lie-ins when I am away.

Just returned from a wonderful stay at Riverside caravan park and can honestly say that the like the other reviews we found this to be a little gem of a site within the popular location of Betws-y-Coed.

The approach to the site can be a bit hair-raising as there are a number of 90 degree bends and car parking can create a wonderful hazard as some of the only free parking for visitors to Betws-y-Coed is located on the approach road. The site itself is split into two areas. The first (on the entry to the site) is the static caravan park which you pass through on your way to reception. After reception and through the security barrier is the touring field which is level and well laid out with wide pitches. We stayed on a super-pitch which had electricity, water, drainage and free view connections. Wi-fi is available on the site and a good signal was available on our pitch.

Whilst there is no children's playground our kids quickly made friends on the site and spent ages going around the site on their scooters.

The on site shop looks brand new and stocks a surprising range of both food, caravan and camping equipment for such a small footprint.

As for the toilet block what can I say that hasn't been said already other than they are superb and spotlessly clean. They look like they have just been installed (probably part of the £4m investment on the site by Morris leisure). Showers have plenty of hot water which is not on the 'push button' system which is great when trying to shower young children in the cubicles.

Would we go back - definitely! Would we visit other Morris leisure sites - absolutely! Have we booked already? - well that would be telling.
