This is the second time we've used this site and we've used Morris Leisure sites on numerous occasions.
This very busy site is ideal for a stroll into Betws-y-Coed as it's literally 5 minutes from the centre of the village, even though it's a busy site it is lay out makes it seem a lot quieter and smaller than it is.
The shower / toilet blocks are extremely clean and well looked after but they do get very busy at times and are probably slightly too small for the size of the site.
There is a small well stocked shop which is handy for any accessories you may need as you'll read later.
There are only a few niggles with the site, firstly the water / electric pillars are a very long way from the pitches in some instances and even though I carry an adapter and flat hose I still had to buy another extension hose for £23 from the shop! I was not the only person with this issue as I spoke to at least 2 others with the same problem. So be warned if you pitch to the peg as instructed on certain pitches bring a very long hose!
The train noise mentioned in other reviews is not really an issue for us but it could be for units pitched directly alongside the railway line we were the opposite side of the site. On one evening we did suffer the smell from the water treatment works (behind the railway line toward the village)it was not very pleasant but there's not a lot the site can do about it!
In summing up this is a great site in a brilliant location and we will be returning.

Just came back from this site and and very disappointed and frankly offended. The site is in a nice location for town, though awful if you like a lie in due to the train noise as they start at 6am. The toilets are well maintained and have great, hot showers. The pitches are flat and hard standing, but I was unlucky enough to be over looked by a number of units from all sides.
My complaint is completely about the people running the site who were unhelpful, unfriendly and unwelcoming. To the point that I told people who were due in the camping field not to bother and the person that had arrived already up sticks and left a day early. What's more, I was accused of someone in my party arriving late and leaving early because they pitched a tent next to my friend. Despite the fact they had nothing to do with me there was not so much as an apology! Clearly not into customer service here.
Not a site for kids as there is nothing to do, the site is rammed with statics who barely have room to park a car between.
Contacted the leisure company owners to complain. Live and learn.

A very nice caravan site. The pitches were well laid out and good hardstandings. Excellent toilet block which was very clean at all times. A very useful shop which stocked all the essentials. It's in an ideal location for Betswy shops and walks, and not far to Snowdonia. The main drawback is the noise of the train early in the morning.

We have visited North Wales on 3 previous occasions and now we have found a site that we will return to when ever we want to stay in that area. The site is immaculately maintained, toilet and shower blocks are cleaned to a very high standard, the pitches are flat with a very fine gravel, easier on the feet. Our pitch was on the opposite side to the railway, so we were not unduly bothered by the early train, the golfers on the course behind the site woke us on more than one occasion, well before 6. 30am. The site is ideally located with easy access to the town and all its attractions, it is within easy driving distance to Snowdonia's many attractions. A really nice site, pleasant staff, a well stocked shop and excellent location.

Very nice site, caravan club affiliated - very expensive. Right by the town, couldn't fault it - but you have to pay for the toilet the key - which is fine, but then if you want to go off early you can't get your money back. So put on credit card if you are leaving early. Toilets spot on even though site very busy.

This has been a truly fantastic weekend. Upon arrival, a wonderful warm welcome was received and the staff were patient and helpful despite 4 units arriving all at the same time. The facilities are fantastic and kept very clean. The site is in a fantastic location, with the centre of Betws-y-Coed being literally a 2 minute walk away.
My only negative comment is that the 3 toilet cubicles in the males are often not enough in the morning as there was often a queue.
You do notice the noise of the trains, but they are not overly intrusive.
The site is an excellent base for exploring Snowdonia or going to Llangollen. We had a serviced pitch which was huge and lovely and flat. We will definitely be stopping at this site again - can't get enough of this site.

This is a really lovely site in a brilliant location, spoilt only by the hourly mainline train racing along the edge of the site.
Although this is a Caravan Club site, and comes with all the usual high standard of facilities, it is only affiliated and so we couldn't use our Caravan Club Wi-Fi subscription, which was a bit disappointing. We had to pay £5 for 5 hours use, which we thought was a bit steep.
Showers were great and brilliantly clean, but were quite a trek from our pitch. Laundry was very reasonable.
The pitch itself was huge and nice and flat, however, we backed directly onto the railway line and from 6am to 9pm every hour and train thunders past, so don't expect any lie ins!
Be warned that TV reception is really bad here and you can only pick up a handful of Freeview stations.

Approach
Well sign posted, easy approach
Staff on arrival
Very friendly and helpful
Pitch
Large spacious hard standing, we had a fully serviced, but all the pitches are nice and large.
Facilities
Excellent, extremely clean, pleasure to shower! - laundry, washing up area, well stocked shop, wifi is £5. 00 for 5 hours we don't usually bother so not sure if that is expensive or not. Safe site with barrier. Very quiet, but it was march - suspect could be lively when fully booked in the school holidays.
Local area
Betws has everything pubs, restaurants shops and of course snowdonia national park, you can't really ask for more.
Summary
Commercial site, so more expensive, doesn't have 'stunning view' but is nestled within some lovely trees, which makes it hard to believe you are sitting yards from a town. We love this site, the area, the town, and will return.
Previous reviews
The trains didn't bother us, they are not that frequent, we were the other side of the site, I guess if you were underneath the track they may bother you, I wasn't actually woken up by the early morning one, although my husband heard it. I have to say the church clock chiming on the hour did wake me up ! Not loud enough to bother really, but we've not heard it before.

Just returned from a wonderful weekend spent at the Riverside Touring Park in Betws-Y-Coed.
The check in staff were very welcoming and soon got the formalities done with and advised where our pitch was. The pitches are pan flat, so setting up was very easy. We had booked a serviced pitch, but the electric hook-up point was between two pitches and our hose was not long enough to reach, due to having to park in a given configuration (not a problem as 1 aquaroll is enough for us for the weekend).
The site is very well maintained and kept very clean. The toilet block feels very new and like it has just been opened. The showers are very warm and not push button. We climbed Snowdon on Saturday so having a hot powerful shower on Saturday evening was just what the dr ordered.
The site has a very well stocked shop selling pre-ordered papers, ice creams, bread etc. But also camping accessories such as aqua rolls etc. Access to the site is by a swipe card which operates a massive barrier - without a card you are not getting into the site, so good for security.
The barrier to access the site is closed between 10pm and 7pm so there is no traffic on the site between these hours. There is a rail line which runs adjacent to the site but this caused no disruption at all.
The site is ideal for exploring Betws on foot or for exploring further a field like Snowdon (10 minute drive away), North Wales, Llandudno etc.
The camp site was very quiet and we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. If you do go to Betws, make sure you visit the Ty Gwyn pub. We always eat there when we go to Betws and have never had a bad meal there yet.
We would definitely visit this site again - we love Betws and Morris Leisure has once again delivered a great site for us to stay at.

Ideally sited just a couple of minutes walk out of the village. We had a quick and efficient check in, although we did find it strange that on a 2 night stay we needed to change pitch each night. We spoke to other campers who told us this was the same for several units.
The showers, toilets etc are immaculate - could not fault the facilities or the cleanliness of same. Top marks to the staff - likewise the pitches are well kept, clear, well cut grass around the hard standings etc.
We did find that the lack of facilities for children seemed to make the site a little noisy. At one stage an impromptu game of football was held on the camping pitches. After the ball striking 3 units a warden arrived and ended the game. The children then moved onto scooters and bikes and several of them spent an hour not only on the roads but around the pitches - this time no intervention from the wardens. No harm really but also not at all peaceful.
It does seem they have several rules which make sense - but they don't seem to enforce. The rule on one vehicle per pitch was not enforced, at least 3 pitches with 2 cars, and one pitch had 3 cars on for 24 hours. The number of guests on a pitch seemed high to what we would normally see so overall it did seem crowed and a less peaceful then other reviews have said.
Overall at £25 per night we expected the 5 Star stay advertised, would say we got a 4 star at most. Facilities are brilliant but for us the site was very noisy and felt a bit overcrowded with too many people on several pitches.
This is obviously a very popular site, difficult to book even at fairly high prices so it must be doing a good job - quite possible it was a one off. The location and facilities would tempt us back to try again - would say this is one of the best sited campsites we have come across in North Wales and even with above would recommend it.
