Stunning situated little campsite with beautifully clean and excellent facilities.
Alan on site is a mine of information and very helpful.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would recommend this site over others on the island.
If back in Barra would definitely stay again.

This site was one of the best, superb views and excellent facilities better than any of the caravan club sites.
We were sorry not to have booked for longer. Friendly owner and excellent value for money.
Lovely views and spotted aircraft landing on beach-airstrip. Good food in hotel.
Would love to come again

Very well organised. Showed up and our pitch was marked on a board and again at the pitch it’s self. Allan came round later to explain all the things we needed to know.
Pitches all had a sea view, and what a view…wow. Facilities were spotless, with good quality fittings including shower, loo, sinks. Not the normal old fashioned units like we are used to.
The site had access to Wi-fi and a gem of a home made pizza delivery service. The village of castle Bay was appx 2 miles away, walkable but there was a taxi service.
We will be back at some point…. 5* plus.

I stayed at Borve for 3 nights in a camper van with my 11 yr old son, and it was the first time we'd ever:
A. Been in a camper van
B. Stayed on a campsite
We felt like we struck so lucky staying at Borve, the location is beautiful and you can hear the sea all night.
Allan, the manager, could not have been more helpful or friendly - and he keeps the site absolutely spotless. The kitchen facility was brilliant and the showers/loos were immaculate. Wonderful to see a big commitment to recycling too.
You can get wifi here but you need to be fairly close to the facilities block. I've given the site 10 out of 10 for everything, including child friendliness, but be aware that children can walk down to a rocky shoreline with lots of rock pools, so smaller children will need supervision.
On the day we arrived, Allan said it was their busiest night ever but it ran like clockwork with everyone getting the space they needed. He offered to move me to the hard standings the next day (we were in the tent area), I think this was because we were next to an all-male group of campers and he was aware that I was travelling alone with a child and would perhaps have been happier next to other families in campers/motorhomes. However, our neighbours were brilliant so we stayed where we were - they even gave us some of their scallops that they'd dived for that day!
We shopped at castlebay Co-op and mostly cooked all our own meals, but we did have Mhairi's fish and chips (check her Facebook for times for when her van is in castlebay) one night and they were wonderful.
Barra is gorgeous, you can walk to Tangasdale beach from the site, we also loved the beaches on Vatersay and the one opposite the airport (Traigh Eais) which has enormous dunes.
