Stayed on this site 8 years ago and knew it would be where we wanted to stay on our return visit to Barra.
Without doubt we were not disappointed!
Great to see Donald again and have the opportunity to stay at this superb site.
Great views for all pitches, good location and clean well maintained facilities!
The best, thanks Donald!

Borve Campsite was amazing. Donald, the owner, was very friendly and helpful.
The location directly at the sea is stunning.
But overall the facilities were spotless clean and provided anything you might need.
We would come back, if we are on Barra again.

This campsite was a welcome wee gem to finish two weeks of touring the Outer Hebrides. The campsite owner is super friendly and more than happy to help with any requests or queries that come up.
The facilities are super clean and homely, I felt very comfortable here with hot clean showers and well looked after clean bathrooms. The kitchen facilities are great and information about the island is supplied on the pin boards.
The hard standing was perfect with grassed areas both sides of the camper, located at the top of the rocks to the sea. Had the absolute delight of watching a wild otter eating crabs on the rocks from the sea and a nightly visit from a seal into the bay.
Hands down will be back again and using this campsite as our base to explore the island.

A beautiful spot, down off the road and overlooking the bay.
The pitch was marked as reserved when we arrived (a nice touch). The EHU was made available by Donald (a perfect gentleman) and the amenities/facilities block was spotlessly clean.
This is a fabulously well run and maintained site.
Donald couldn’t be any more helpful and was a pleasure to chat with.
I really wish we could’ve stayed longer but our itinerary meant we had to leave the next day. And Donald was in no hurry to have you off-site by a certain time.
His main checking-in time coincides with the evening ferry from Oban, so as long as you’re away by then he’s happy to let you do so.

Having booked this some time ahead it was great to receive a warm welcome from Donald on arrival.
We had a pitch with a sea view, and the facilities were well thought through and very clean.

This site is perfectly situated on Barra's west coast looking out over the ocean. It is maintained to a very high standard by Donald, the owner, who is generally seen around several times a day doing odd jobs and making sure everything is up to scratch. The facilities are spotless.
There are so many places to walk over the dunes and along the nearby beaches, and a walk into castlebay takes well under an hour. The walk on Vatersay around the headland should not be missed.
Despite a week of gentle to strong winds and more than our fair share of rain, we had a great time and were sorry to have to leave

Very friendly welcome.
Very clean toilet and kitchen facilities - but could be a bit limited if the site is full.
Amazing location right by the sea.
Short drive to castlebay and Vatersay.

I've travelled around most of Scotland in the last 3 months and this is the friendliest place I've been.
The facilities were great and spotlessly clean. The showers had an on/off switch and temperature control so you didn't have to stand there continuously pushing a button!
You can even get pizza delivered here Thurs - Sat. The location is perfect and Donald the owner is lovely.
Great, great campsite
