What a great site. Really handy to get to everything on Barra and not too hard to cycle to most places. Stunning views from the whole site with plenty of wildlife right on your doorstep. You can go to sleep and wake up looking at the sea. The shower block has everything mentioned in previous reviews and is absolutely spotless. All this and the Donald Factor too! We would definitely stop again. If you do come try to visit the Community Shop in Castlebay. It's a great initiative that deserves support. They sell lots of local goods and if you're a knitter you'll also find some fab wools.

A small and perfectly formed site. Only 2. 5 miles from Oban to Castlebay ferry, perched on a ledge between the road and the beach, yet surprisingly sheltered from both. Flat and good sized pitches with EHU. THe campsite owner has thought of everything, making it really homely. Ultra clean showers and toilets. Kitchen is fully equipped with washing machine and drier, grill, microwave and every kitchen implement you could ever ask for, even washing up liquid, scourers and brushes. There are even single clothes washing tablets available via an honesty box, wifi.

This site is stunning, sitting above the Altantic coast. The Amenity block, although quite small, is second to none. Donald even provides soap powder for the washing machine and washing up liquid for your dishes! Wifi is free but slow in and around the amenity block.

Wow what a stunning campsite this is ! situated overlooking the sea on the west coast of Barra ! its just a few miles from Castlebay so very handy for the ferry to Oban, Castlebay has all the local amenities you need including a co-op store, post office, shops etc. The site has new toilet & shower facilities with a small kitchen area and free wifi, there's even fresh local crap in the fridge for sale with an honesty box for payment. The site owner who is also the local postman, is a really nice guy and drives around a few times a day to collect new arrivals fee's which at £19 per night for a motorhome with 2 adults & EHU is good. Although there's not a lot in Borve, there are some lovely walks along the amazing ever changing coastline. This is a 'must stop' place in a beautiful part of the world which we intend to use again & again whenever we return 10/10

Great site with lovely views. Good facilities and, while we were there, a local lady filled the fridge with crab claws (crab lollipops!) and crab meat, paid for into an honesty box. The crab claws were brilliant.
The warden/owner was very friendly and helpful.
Given the size of Barra, the site is near to everything on the island :-).

Cracking site in a lovely location only a 5 min drive from Castlebay.
The toilet block/kitchen area was immaculate and is a credit to Donald.
Sunset was superb and there are 2 beaches less than 5 min walk away that are well worth visiting.
Most if not all pitches overlook the bay and we saw an otter during our short 2 day stop over.
It is a 30 minute walk into Castlebay where there are a few places to get something to eat and or drink.
Our first visit to the Outer Hebrides and Barra/Borve was by far our favourite.

This site is an absolute gem and a credit to the owners. Fantastic location, brilliant facilities - better than some caravan club sites We have visited. The sunsets are amazing and we did not want to leave. Donald the owner is a lovely guy who goes out of his way to make sure everyone is happy. Would definitely recommend the site and look forward to going back again.

After reading poor reviews of campsites on the Hebrides I was a little anxious about what to expect. The campsite at Borve dispelled all anxiety. It is in a lovely location with wonderful sea views and not too far from the ferry at Castlebay. The facilities were excellent: good showers with plenty of hot water, kitchen facilities and all spotlessly clean. A washing machine and tumble dryer are also available. There is a very well stocked Co-op in Castlebay. It is well placed for access to Vatasay, beautiful beaches and generally touring this small island. The owner is the local Postie and he was friendly and helpful. It is a very relaxed site and I would and have recommended it to other travellers.
