Just returned from Easter break camping with 6 other families. Pitch was stated as slightly sloping - just about managed to stay in our sleeping bag ! We also went electric for the first time which was a bit of a joke as it only worked about 25% of the time. Not sure how they manage during the summer months when fully booked. Lights in the toilet blocks went out around 10pm - so remember to take a torch. A bit spooky for the little ones, but apparently its to keep the "youngsters" away. Plus side. Loos and washing up facilities are great. Free admittance to the leisure park if you camp for 2 nights or more. Well worth it. Kids (and other big kids 40+) had a brilliant time. We are tying to book for a week in August but this time on a terrace - which gives a bit more privacy and is level. Shop only opened on our last day - very little in way of food or camping bits, but will hopefully be fully stocked for our next visit. Well worth a visit.

We have just returned from a week at Woodlands during the August Bank Holiday. The toilet and shower facilities were very good, and there were plenty of them, I never had to queue for more than 5 minutes for a shower. Although I did not use it, the laundry appeared to be extremely busy as early as 6.30am right through to gone midnight. Above the facilities block there is an unsupervised games/TV room. From the noise coming from there every time I used the facilities, it sounded like World War III was breaking out up there. I am glad that my two sons did not wish to use the room. In the evening it appeared that all of the youngsters and teenagers on the site would 'hang about' round the facilities block, some of them making a nuisance of themselves. I did report this to one of the on-site wardens who moved them on. The site has no field or area set aside for ball games etc and this results in campers (adults included) playing football/cricket etc around the caravans, tents and cars with little regard for others.
The shop on-site is also woefully lacking in camping essentials although Farmer Phil does visit the site twice each day offering fresh meat and bread etc. The nearest supermarket is a good 10 minutes drive away although there is a well stocked petrol station 5 minutes up the road. The nearest beach is a private beach and we paid £6 to park and 'use the facilities'.
When we booked we were told that all of the flat pitches were full but we could be accommodated on Well Park which is slightly sloping with informal pitches, some with electric hook-up. We paid the same price for this pitch as those on the terraces, a rather expensive £37.50 per night. Tents and caravans were crammed in on every available space. When the caravan next to us left (a week early) it was replaced with another caravan AND a tent. Units were so close together that the guy lines were overlapping. On our final night at the camp we had no sleep due to the close proximity of our neighbours and a very loud snorer!
The leisure park was OK but very busy as it is open to day visitors. It would be nice if campers had the opportunity to have exclusive use of the park at some times. Also the food available in the park was very expensive and quite frankly, not very good.

Went ot this site over the August bank holiday, so it was naturally at it's busiest. The toilets and showers are great, there are even seperate rooms which have showers/toilets/a basin plus the normal toilet/shower block. And I never had to queue once, so all good there. On a little slope, but that comes with the territory. The park itself is a large camping site split into different areas with hedges, plenty of space on the pitches too. The leisure park is great, not quite alton towers, but I don't like alton towers, but all the kids (and adults) were having a great time there. Wardens were friendly and helpful, one morning there was a family with kids up at 6AM shouting and screaming, not good, I had a word and told the wardens and it never happened again. This is a great and comfortable site, nothing bad to say about it as it really is a good one and I would recommend it thouroughly especially for families with children. Great location near Dartmouth & Salcombe too, so plenty to do outside the park itself. Would definitely go again.

Yes, great toilets, good theme park. BUT ! We stayed for 5 nights only, and were told we couldn't stay on the level pitches because we hadn't booked for a week or more. I expected this to be a minor slope as described. BEWARE : the field for those who don't stay a week has quite a bad slope. We were told by our neighbours that his trailer tent had slipped down the hill into the hedge and damaged his tent. Also there was very little space between tents on this field (maybe 3ft.in fact some were overlapping into each others pitch.) The pitches are quite long, but thin. We had to ask for an alternative pitch because our tent wouldn't fit in the space offered. This badly sloping field comes at the same price as the more spacious level fields, we paid over £30 a night to sleep on a hill very close to very noisy neighbours. However, we were envious of other campers who stayed for the week, their areas were perfectly level, and very spacious. If you go, go for a week and make sure you don't get on the lower grade sloping field, especially when you're paying exactly the same price.

What a fabulous campsite we have a 4 yr old girl and a 7yr old boy it kept these very occupied they loved the leisure park and went on it every day for the full 7 days we stayed. The campsite was spotless we where in a field with three other caravans. We had a lot of space it was great for the kids and very safe.We travelled out to Torquay and Paignton they are not very far away.10/10 I would recommend this to anyone very impressed and will definitely going again. Both kids upset when it was time to leave.

Lovely smart site with level pitches. The bathrooms/showers were I think the best iv`e ever seen. The leisure park is absolutely fantastic, something for all ages. Maybe a pit pricey if you`ve got children, iv got 3 and a dog and it soon added up, but to be fair I think you are paying for the leisure park more than the campsite. They have cool kennels for your dog to stay in whilst you visit the park which I thought was a lovely idea

We have stayed on this site a couple of times and still want to go again. Although my kids are getting older they still love what Woodlands has got to offer. In the evening there is a great games room and fantastic toilet facilities. You are allowed to wander around the park after hours for a while which is just lovely. The staff are very friendly and the shop is adequate, there is a take away too. Just BRILLIANT.

Just back from a two night break at the end of half term week. Thought the site was immaculate, with helpful & friendly wardens. After booking in a warden guided us to the informal, unreserved field and assisted with selecting a pitch. Shower block facilities were first class. TV lounge great for watching football on Saturday afternoon, but beware Big Brother fans every evening. The park itself has something for all ages and the whole deal offers excellent value for money. We'll be back !

Excellent site, very friendly and helpful, plenty of room, well designed, facilities to die for, worth every penny! Kids loved the leisure park & games room kept them occupied in the evenings. Shop could do with more food rather than gifts but the farmers van delivers provisions to your tent twice a day. 20 minute drive to nearest dog friendly beach.

What a site! We love it here... this being our fourth visit. Spotlessly clean with level pitches. Access to the leisure park included in price and worth every penny. We have a large family all ages and there is something for everyone. Indoor areas if you are unlucky (as we were last year) to have a week of rain! Staff very friendly and helpful. Kennels for dogs on site. I would say go for it and enjoy Woodlands as we have and will do for years to come.
