We've just got back from a week's stay at Woodlands and were really impressed with the site and the facilities. We had 2 full days of rain but the indoor play area kept our daughter entertained throughout and when the sun finally came out she was happy to explore the rest of the park. The park is very close to Dartmouth which we visited several times because the regatta was on - it's a beautiful town with plenty to see and do.

The toilet facilities at Woodlands were good with free hot showers and 20p to dry your hair. The shop was limited in what it sold and expensive but there was a Sainsbury's and a Lidl 10 mins away on the road to Dartmouth. The staff were friendly and helpful and the site quickly quietened down at night.

We'll definitely consider going back to this lovely part of the UK and would probably stay at Woodlands again.

We arrived on the saturday at least an hour before we were due to be able to go on our pitch, but luckily the helpful wardens showed us straight to out pitch.

We had booked with 3 other couples and there families luckily we were then able to have our own little field with the four of us pitching on, with still plenty of room to play football etc which was nice.

We stayed for 3 nights and had a great time, woodlands it self is just full of loads of fun and plenty of things to do for the kids, even us adults really enjoyed ourselves.

Nice showers toilets etc and even the option to have a nice hot bath for just 20p which is a lovely luxury after a fun filled day.

I would definitely recommend.

Staff were always very happy to help as we were leaving we had a flat battery and they were more than happy to help.

Food was good value for money and a good quantity as well.

Plenty of toilets and food bars all around the park.

Had a lovely 4 night stay here with my 4 year old on our first camping trip, access to the theme park was brilliant and because we were on site we popped in every day and did a bit a day rather than exhausting ourselves in one day, my daughter thought it was amazing being able to go to a theme park every single day! Great location & easy to drive around & go off visiting around Devon, good facilities, lovely staff, lots to do, would definitely return. :)

Arrived at 12 noon and were shown straight to our pitch on Falcon's View. We had paid for a large pitch as we have a tent classed as a 'supertent' but were very disappointed. Our 'terrace' had space for 8 pitches (a mix of tents and caravans) and we were the last to arrive.

Firstly, the pitch was all weather hard standing which we had never had before. (We later had problems with this as the loose gravel got between our footprint and the sewn in ground sheet and caused lots of little holes though which the rain seeped in and soaked the floor and carpet.)

The second problem was which way round to pitch our tent. Our allocated space was so small we could only pitch the tent with the opening facing sideways - not very sociable. We also could not park our car next to the tent, as directed, as there was no room after we had pegged out the guy ropes - so we had to park it in front of the tent which blocked our view of the campsite and made us feel even less sociable. As we were there for 2 weeks and wanted the kids to be able to play out the front of the tent this was less than ideal. We could not keep an eye on them unless we sat out in the middle to the field.

Also a very noisy site after dark - we were near the games room which attracted hoards of teenagers each night - nothing against teenagers I have a teenager of my own but they were still going at 4am some mornings!

Apart from that a great site - toilet/shower facilities good, used the laundry a few times and found the shops well stocked. Access to the leisure park and falconry is ideal if you just want a few lazy days by the tent.

Overall, I would probably go back but would be quite specific where we wanted to be sited.

Arrived on a wet and windy June day. Was shown where to pitch - on Falcon's View - and was introduced to my first all-weather type pitch. Having never pitched on anything but grass before, the warden was very helpful and full of hints on how to make the most of the pitch.

On discovering that something was wrong with our tent (one of the poles) both wardens and maintenance men tried to help as best they could.

The toilet block was only partially open and this left just the individual rooms complete with showers along the front of the block. This in itself wasn't a problem until the Friday (we camped Mon-Fri) when everyone seemed to be using the block at the same time. The toilets / showers themselves were clean, although looking a little tired.

The heated games room was good, and the warden pointed out that if something went wrong with our tent overnight, we were welcome to sleep in it. I was a little disappointed that there were no paddles for the table tennis tables, and that all the arcade machines were quite expensive. They had two 'waterfall' machines and both of these were filled with 10p pieces. It was a real shame that one of these weren't filled with 2p pieces as the children would have loved to have had a go.

No play equipment on site, but as it was quiet, my two kids (7 and 9) were able to run around and kick a ball to their heart's content.

Access into Woodlands definitely an advantage, although one of the attractions marked on their park map wasn't even completed!

My biggest gripe was that the shop wasn't open. Advertised hours were for a couple of hours morning and afternoon on weekends. I did spot that it was open on the Thursday but this was a rare occurance. It wasn't until our last day that we spotted that the gift shop in the leisure park sold bread, milk and bacon / ham. There was nothing mentioned about this in the brochure that was handed to me on arrival.

All in all, a good site. Lots of people due to arrive on the Friday as we left, so not sure how I'd feel if the site was full. I'd paid for a larger pitch and would do so again. Wardens are very friendly and I would visit again in 'tarrif A'. I would not be able to afford 'tarrif b'!

Went to Woodslands after serching for somewhere different to go. We went the week before half term and it was very quiet.

Check in was quick and the staff were very friendly, we were then escorted to our pitch by the walden in his buggy. The site is very clean and more then well looked after. The small picthing areas hold around 10 units so it feels very open and not regimented. Because it was early season we had to have a hardstanding pitch we was not ideal but they provided a fibre carpet to go under the groundsheet.

Because it was quiet the shop wasn't open so I can't comment on that but there are a few large supermarkets about 2 miles down the road. There is no bar or club house but there are a few pubs and Dartmouth isn't that far to go. The takeaway do some really nice pizzas and aren't too badly priced.

The shower block was closed (low season) but you had excess to the private bathrooms. These had a sink, a toilet and a shower and were the cleanest I'd seen. In the same block was an indoor washing up facility and a laundry room and both were always spotless. Above these you had a very large games room.

The biggest gem is the fun park next door which you can enter free. It has everything for all ages including a farm and falconry with 2 displays a day. The park is open till dark so the kids can still use most of the attractions when the staff leave at 5. This park has more then enough action to keep you there all day so you not forking out money the whole time on other things.

There is a barrier system which allows you to come and go in the car so if you do pop out in the evenings its easy to get back in.

There is plenty to visit outside if you manage to get bored and a lovely beach (stony) a few miles down the road.

Fantastic site and we will be back next year.

Woodlands is a fantastic place to visit and to stay.

We arrived at 11am, we were not supposed to go to our pitch until 1pm. This was not a problem and were greeted by friendly wardens who instantly took us to the Falcoln views area.

We had a lovely pitch which backed onto a hedge, as did most of the vans and tents. Other families soon joined us and we spent our evenings sat outside chatting.

The shower and toilet facilities were spotless, the toilets even had paper cover dispensers above them in case you didn't want to sit straight onto the seat itself. I liked the idea of a mop left outside the showers to clean up and a small cloth at every sink to wipe around when finished. There are family rooms with toilet, sink and shower.

The theme park itself was fantastic. We had our 6 year old with us and she had a great time on everything.

The Rangers work very hard to keep the waterslides flowing with people as it can be busy. They were friendly and had everyones safety a number one priority.

It has quite a lot of hills. But non the less kept us fit.

Lots of places to eat throughout the park and numerous toilets. Which were clean.

I have to say there is something for everyone here young or old.

There is no play are in and around the pitches but I think that after a day in the theme park where all your fun is provided. Children can be satisfied with a bike or scooter. My daughter made friends with 3 families who all had small children ages between 3 and 8. They had great fun with a soft ball. Older kids can take themselves back down to the park to play on the adventure playgrounds. These are not manned by Rangers in the evenings and obviously the rides stop between 5-5.30pm.

Truly a fantastic week, I can honestly say We had nothing to complain about.

Great site for those with children under 14.

Lovely big pitches, which are quiet far enough away from the theme park for you to relax, but close enough for the children (if old enough to look after themselves) to take themselves off and enjoy the facilities with / without you.

I can not see why you would stay here unless you wanted to make use of the included use of the theme park - which I thought one of the best I've ever taken my kids to.

There is a small shop on site. The prices are reasonable, but there is not a lot of choice so I would, in future, stock up with more of my own produce before I went there.

The toilet blocks seemed fairly clean and there always seemed to be enough wardens around if you needed anything. The people at reception and in the rest of the park are quite helpful and very welcoming.

We stayed for 3 nights and went into Dartmouth by bus one of those days. The stop is just outside the theme park gates and a return ticket into the town is about £4 for an adult. There is no point trying to take a motorhome in there!

We would definitely recommend Woodlands to families. I'm a single mum and it was an ideal set-up for me I felt. Plenty to keep the kids happy but enough tranquillity to give me a break as well.

Bit of a mixed review for this site! Theme park was brilliant, as were the staff. Pitches were nice and flat and although its a really big site if had a smaller quiet feeling.

The bad points would be the showers and toilets were not heated and as it was quite cold when we stayed we really noticed it! They were not as nice as other sites we have visited although they were clean.

The older children could use the theme park in the evenings but as there is no play area on the site itself, younger children were a bit tied to the tent. We like for the children to play close by while we watch them from the tent and we couldn't do this here.

Overall I would visit again but when my children are a bit older and can use the games room and theme park by themselves. And by then maybe the toilets and showers will have been updated.Or at least heated!

Visited woodlands for the first time with our 3 teenagers!were very pleased with our pitch on the top falcons view field.Plenty of space around our large 8 man tent.Toilet block was modern, clean and considering the site was full no long queues. The shop was stocked with basics,we even managed to purchase gas mantels, staff friendly and helpful.

Theme park was superb and kept kids occupied, the one day we decided to go out they moaned that by the time we got back the park would be shut. The park is open till dusk for non manned equipment which is a bonus.

Considering the site was full it was never noisy.

We found some lovely places to visit locally but ran out of time to do so.We will definitely be back next year.

Would we change anything?you can always add rides, crazy golf etc but I wouldn't add anything to the campsite i.E bar, play area as I think it this would spoil the evenings peace and tranquillity.
