We have visited this wonderful park many times and have never been disappointed.

The family shower rooms are lovely & so very clean, we usually find that we compare other sites to Woodland facilities

To have the ability to camp on such a fab fun place that would usually be for a day trip is brilliant, enoying some of the equipment long after day trippers have gone home.

My 16 year old Son has even said that he will only come camping with us if we are going here, praise indeed !

See you again soon Woodlands

I must admit, I was a bit sceptical prior to arriving at a theme park campsite - visions of constantly screaming children, chaos, panic and pandamonium etc yet from the moment we arrived to the moment we left I would have thought we were on any other normal, slightly rural campsite!

Check in was a piece of cake as you are directed to reception by the very welcoming staff and everything was explained thoroughly by the reception staff.

You are then directed to a waiting area where yet more staff take your details and you are guided to your pitch by a staff member in a golf buggy.

The pitch we stayed on was compacted gravel but a ground sheet was available at the pitch and rock pegs were available at reception for a small deposit.

Cars are parked on the grass unless the weather becomes too inclement, then parking is on the gravel.

The electric hook up wasn't quite central between the pitches on our pitch so might be worth making sure you have ample cable run. (5m + depending on your cable entry point)

The pitches are within a hedge/tree boundary with various numbers of pitches contained within so you never feel over crowded.

Rubbish and water points were numerous and well maintained.

Utility blocks were in a very good state of repair with a mix of Male and Female shower rooms, mixed shower/toilet cubicles (including 1 disabled access), washing up area, laundry and on the first floor - a games room and TV.

My only 'bugbear' with this was that there is no way of telling if a 'mixed' cubicle was in use other than by trying to gain entry - which can sometimes be a bit embarrassing.

The Theme park is a pleasant middle ground - No real 'thrills and Spills' of the major theme parks available, neither is it 'toddler town' but enough to certainly entertain 4 adults, a teenager and an 11 year old. The park stays open after hours but only the unsupervised attractions are available which was very useful. (assault courses, ball pool etc)

The food available was pretty much what you'd expect from a theme park so please don't expect too much. The variety is good though and reasonably priced.

The site store is well stocked for all those bits you've either forgotten or run out of and is open for periods throughout the day and evening.

You are only a 2-3 minute drive towards Dartmouth for a Lidl, Sainsburys and petrol station. Dartmouth is no more than 8-10 minutes but recommend the park and ride (opposite Sainsburys) as parking in Dartmouth is a nightmare!

In all, a very pleasant stay. Very accommodating staff and above all - virtually silent at the pitch, regardless of the time of day (given that the theme park is situated in a wooded valley).

I would recommend Woodlands to anyone with 'walking age' children but as I mentioned earlier - we have a 15 and 11 year old and they loved it.

So did I.

Was a great trip lovely the site was clean, the shower rooms were little cold shame they no longer employ any British Staff.

But my main issue was the site says free park wide wifi which you then have to pay for £6. 00 but then it does not work at all so have complained and asked for refund as the services were not provided, when I complained in the park the staff said no it does not work but works a little in the games room where I was along way away from.

I had my EE dongle for 4G but sad to say no mobiles signals that side of Dartmouth so the camp site really needs to stop charging for what is a none service that there then selling.

I have a 19 mouth old baby and shame nothing within woodlands for a child to play on as all not allowed on for this age group.

Surely there can't be a better value campsite than Woodlands Grove. We stayed using their adults special offer which gives you five nights camping (from Sunday), electricity, use of facilities. Best of all you also get access to the theme park which is right next door, almost part of the site. This is aimed mostly at younger children but there is plenty for older kids and adults too, we especially liked the falconry centre.

Hardstanding pitches are spacious and the grass areas are kept very neat. Large facilities blocks are modern and kept clean. The staff we spoke to - wardens, shop staff and receptionists were polite and friendly.

At the site gate you can get a bus to Dartmouth or Totnes, both excellent places to visit. We paid only £54 for our adults only 5 night break. This is available anytime outside the school holidays. They charge a lot more in school holidays etc but it would still be good value because of the free theme park access.

Easy to get to the site from the A380 with no narrow lanes to worry about if you have a large vehicle.

 Scout group visit

16 youngsters and 9 adults in a variety of tents including a large dining tent

We've been to WEoodlands before and we love it. Site is very helpful setting us aside a suitable area. Excellent facilities, very wet on the weekend we were there but enough hot showers to keep everyone happy and drying facilities.

A wide variety of areas to camp from secluded little 4 caravan plots to large field for the likes of us. A little windy at times.

Great value combining 3 days in the park and camping

Clean toilets

Easy electric hook up

Arrived at the site after missing the turning (sort of expected the site to have a separate entrance). We were booked in without any problem and shown to our pitch by the warden. Shower blocks were lovely and clean and all within easy reach. Pitch nice and flat and easy to pitch on.

We walked down that afternoon and had a quick look around the theme park, which you can come and go as you please. Lots to keep both our 10 and 2 year old busy. Really liked the animal farm, falconry centre and tobogans.

Things we liked about Woodlands:

Clean shower blocks

Entrance to Woodlands (that is reflected in quite an expensive site fee).

Nice level pitches

Things not so keen on:

Lack of hooks in showers

The material of the all weather pitch - loads of tiny shale that gets everywhere in the van, plus during heavy rain the water doesn't drain well and the awning flooded.

Lack of lighting on the main entrance - the entrance is very hard to spot from the Totnes direction in the dark and can easily be missed.

Lack of lighting on site.

The games room can be very expensive for kids - would have been willing to let the kids play on a 2p coin dozer, not 10p - also completely inappropriate for smaller kids.

The site is also missing a central play park - yes they can play at Woodlands, but not without you taking them and in an evening, they missed somewhere to go nearby to play so they could make friends.

Not the parks fault but did not like listening to someone play the bongo nor listening to noisy kids.

In a word superb. People at check in were fab. Slick and easy. Best I have seen. Toilet block clean and useful. Pitches are massive. Theme park makes this a stand out site. Free entry a bonus. Would recommend to anyone with kids. Lots to do around. Try it. Glad we did.

People were friendly on site and we made lots of new friends. General store manager was a good bloke and enjoyed my morning chats when collecting the daily rolls for lunches.

This campsite is excellent. There was clear instruction where to park upon entering and shown where reception was. Check in was fairly quick and not much wait to be shown to our pitch. Pitch was clear and tidy. Found all the facilities to be clean and nice hot showers. We used the family shower rooms and perhaps would of benefitted from a couple more hooks. We made use of the leisure park every day even with torrential rain as plenty of indoor areas. Able to use the playgrounds after the park is shut kept us occupied. Ate out one evening at local pub about 1 mile away ( turn right out of park) nice meal and again a playground for the children. Will definitely return.

Really clean and well organised camp site and chance to use park when not busy. Facilities excellent. Would recommend to anyone with children. Toilet block and showers maintained to an excellent standard. Pitches are well positioned. If you were only going for a camp site it would be good - but you get the theme park too! If you leave before a certain time on the last day, you can even get a refund.

I agree with all the other reviews, great campsite, the theme park connected to the campsite was excellent for the kids. Plenty of indoor stuff if it rains. It was a well organised. My only one concern was, we were staying there just us a family, and unfortunately we were surrounding with group bookings, which to be fair can happen at any campsite. My concern was the noise of all groups late at night. It didn't stop till gone 11pm possible after midnight. I know the campsite have wardens that drive around, but I didn't see any signs of this being addressed. Some campsites have a noise curfew after a certain time. Due to it be very family oriented campsite maybe this should be implemented. Apart from that we would definitely come back and recommend it to anyone.
