July 2005 This was our first (and last) visit to this campsite, it wasn't too bad when we arrived we put up our tent in a large but sloping field with a beautiful view over the cliff looking at the sea view, we went into the onsite amusments and bar which we had no problems with apart from toilets being dirty no toilet rolls and most of the locks on the doors broken.
The morning after our first night we went to get showered to find them freezing cold and smelling of sewerage, we were asured by management that this was a one off problem and would be sorted within the hour, the water remained cold untill the next morning when it was lovely and warm but i could wee faster than the shower ran. we had booked for 5 nights we only stayed 3 nights as the following morning the showers were cold again (no hot water to wash up with either).
My husband complained to the manager who did give us a refund for the 2 nights extra that we should have stayed, she put the disgusting state of the toilets down to some children vandalising them and putting full toilet rolls down the pan resulting in a back log of waste, she put the broken boiler down to it being a busy peak time and her budget for repairs, i would have thought a large company like haven would have kept ontop of repairs and maintainence and would be able to afford to do so as there prices are quite high inline with other neighbouring sites.

May 2005 Visited this campsite over the bank holiday weekend. At a price of £75.00 for three nights I thought this was a bit pricey, but apparently this was a special offer. Intrestingly other campers paid between 50-60 pounds for the same dates. The campsite is basically a large piece of scrubland on the side of a cliff. The only flat area was just before the cliff dropped down to the sea. There were no barriers or signs that I could see that warned of the danger of the cliff, which concerned me having three small children. The wind whips down the hill (which is steep) and off the edge of the cliff.
On the day we visited the wind was extreme on the site and many tents were blowing away. We tried several times to pitch ours, but ultermately our tent was damaged and we had to abandon the trip. As this site is on a the side of a cliff, high wind must be a problem. We obviously cannot blame Haven for the extreme wind, however the camping area has no cover what so ever and there has been no attempt by Haven to provide windbeaks. Also despite staff standing and watching tents being wrecked and blown away, new arrivals were still directed onto the site and allowed to pitch. I'm afraid that I see this campsite as a way to make easy money.
Facilities.
While we attemped to wait for the wind to subside we had a look around the facilities but did not use any.
The toliet block was clean. The pool was free, but access was restricted as owner occupiers has allocated slots.
The adventure play area (ball pool, climbing ropes etc) was about the size of a box room, and would be difficult to fit more than 20 children in. The main area in the entertainment complex was dedicated to slot machines. Didn't see the club.
Summary.
If you like the hussle bussle type of holiday with slot machines, busy packed clubs this sight is ideal for you. Just don't go in a tent

May 2005 Stayed here on our maiden voyage May Day weekend 2005. Very impressed with the cleanliness and warmth of the showers and toilet block. Busy site, plenty of room, great beach, 3 children had a great time (9, 10 and 12). Indoor heated pool, club house bars and restaurants, typical of any haven site. Would recommend to anyone.

April 2005 First time to the site and we did go on recommendation from another user. We went using a 4 man tent and only went for one night , 2 days. The site is well laid out with the toilet blocks, pot wash areas near to the road and general tent area, while the tent area was away from main buildings and shops it was not a massive walk. The beach had good access, however was steep and may not be suitable for handicapped or elderly without assistance. Beach was nice clean and enjoyable. Noise at night was minimal.
GOOD POINTS Clean toilets, well maintained Hot water at all times, clean showers. Well cut grass , flat for pitching tents in some areas. Good views if weather permits,(rained while we were there ... boo) Children entertained inclusive, nice pool, amusements play area etc
BAD POINTS Key system for toilets, had to remember who went last, where was the key? £10.00 for key refundable, however fail to tell you that the reception shuts at 5pm and if you leave after that difficult to get your tenner back.
Summary
More expensive than other sites we have stayed at but offer more in with price. Enjoyable stay, will go again and recommend to you. I will be trying again later in year.

March 2005 Cost £58 on a special offer for Easter weekend Fri-Mon for touring pitch with a motorhome, quite expensive but apparantly half price! The pitch we were allocated was directly in front of childrens play area to the delight of my two kids however due to the wet weather we were unable to reverse into the space and we couldn't drive into it as a caravan was already occupying the plot behind us. We eventually drove into the empty space adjacent. The camp office agreed to allow the move but upon entering the motorhome we were on such a gradient I realised we would have to move again.
We are fairly new to touring and have spent most of our holidays in Lincolnshire which unlike this area is very flat and didn't have any levelling blocks to solve the problem. I decided to explore and look for a more level pitch before asking for another move. I found one and went to the office to ask if we could occupy it. I was told that it was allocated to someone else, I then asked if you were allowed to pre-book your plot, thinking perhaps for next time. I was told you could request it but not book it. I therefore questioned why I couldn't have it on a first come first served basis if that was the case. I didn't get a satisfactory answer to this and was offered another pitch. I sent my husband to look at it before accepting and him being one to avoid a fuss, came back and said it was ok. It was only marginally more level than the one I had just vacated and much to the kids disappointment was further away from the play area. It also had a large furrow full of water that had probably been made by another set of wheels.
The touring area we were on was I admit close to all the facilities which is somewhat surprising as you often find the statics get prime position. However considering the cost of these sites it beggars belief that they cannot afford to provide level hard standing pitches for caravans and motorhomes.
We picked this site because it is a Haven site and thought that the cost would be worth it for the entertainment, there's nothing worse than bored kids. The club was spacious and busy, it took me about 25 mins to get served at the bar. They played a game of bingo £1 for a single ticket but they werent playing for cash as is the norm but £35 a line and £70 for the house in shop vouchers, not the camp shop but a daft shop full of silly trinkets and gifts. The change of policy was I understand so that kids could play too, more like a way to part you from your money without having to give it back.
We eventually retired to the pub style bar which was easier on the ears and went home for an early night. We considered ordering food but the wait was an estimated 1 hour, people actually waited longer than that.
We couldnt get a reception for the TV as this is apparantly a bad area for it. We awoke in the morning to a thick blanket of fog and a leak at the front of the van which was made worse by the slope we were sitting on.
We decided enough was enough, packed up and set of for home. We ended up in Skegness, the weather was better and we were on level ground.
We did look in on the swimming pool but could see that it was very much like the one at Blue Dolphin too shallow for adults to swim in so we didnt bother with that either.
In summary, the site was clean, the staff were friendly enough and the view of the sea over the clifftop is very nice. I should imagine in summertime it is even better. The site cannot be responsible for the weather obviously, however many of the bad weather problems could be eliminated if these sites invested a little of what they charge back into the pitches.

August 2004 This was our first visit to Reighton Sands and we were very impressed. During the 9 days that we were there we had 4 days of storms and flooding which caused the touring area to become very muddy, so much so that we had to did channels in the ground to drain the water away from the awning. When we mentioned this to the management they informed us that awnings are optional so it was not their fault. This aside the entertainment was fantastic our children 6 & 9 really enjoyed themselves. The beach was great and there are plenty of places to visit. We would recommend this site, just try to pick a time when the weather is good !

July 2004 Bit apprehensive about visiting a big site like this as have been to others nearby during main school holidays and found them a little bit noisy for me and very very busy (too busy for our kids to enjoy) so in a tent this time and with kids of 13 and 12..... Very pleasantly surprised, got a great late deal off Internet and had a fantastic holiday. Stayed a week, pitch great, facilities great, nice and quiet at touring part while we were there anyway, and well kept with plenty to do for kids and staff friendly and helpful. We were lucky enough to have good weather and the direct access to beach and train that runs fantastic with food bar and toilets just of beach entrance. Views breathtaking. All in all would recommend it and definitely be back.

July 2004 We stayed here for four nights and enjoyed our stay. As mentioned by others, the tent area is just a field and you can pitch where you like. It is on a hill and as it rained a lot when we were there, it did get boggy and muddy. The view of the sea is lovely. The entertainment was very good and plenty to keep the kids happy. The swimming pool was ok but there is only about 5 changing rooms so had to wait a while to get changed. It also got very busy. We found the restuarant on site to be reasonably priced - under £12 for two adult meals and one kids meal although drinks were a bit pricey. Toilets and showers were fine but could do with being modernised. Plenty to do in the surrounding area. Would definately go back but might try Primrose Valley next door this time.

May 2004 Overall, this site is ideal, it has plenty to do when the weather takes a turn for the worst and a nice walk to the beach when the weather is fine. I did find however that there were no allocated pitches, you just turn up and pitch your tent. This lead to my car being blocked in by 3 other tents for 2 days, not ideal when you want to visit other resorts within the area. When we raised this with reception they said they would help move our tent, but that would not resolve the issue with my car being blocked in!
The showers are great but there was a lack of mirrors and plug points if you need to dry your hair.
I would visit again but I would ensure that I pitched my tent near the road.

May 2004 Booked this site because of a special offer on the Haven website, £14 for 2 nights with hard standing pitch, awning and electric hook up. This price included use of pool and club. The site was clean with lots of things to do. Wouldn't like to go during high season but will return later in the year.
