The whole site seems to have had a good makeover, new hardstandings were fantastic, plenty of space for the van awning and car. Pitch slopes quite well front / back but level side / side so easy to deal with.
Toilets/showers clean and tidy, even piped radio into the shower areas!
Main complex seems to have had a refurb as well, inside and out, clean tidy and well maintained, I hope its kept up to over the summer.
Be warned, the walk down to the beach is steep but there is a tractor / trailer running all day up and down the hill.
Overall, its this must be the best in regards to pitch of any Haven site I have been to so far (7 including this one) keep it up, however the actual site facilities are one of the smallest, this didn't put us off for shorter breaks, but might think twice about a full week.
We are going back, already booked for august!

We were here for end of may bank holiday weekend it was packed and it was a free for all, you are crammed in like sardines. But as said before the views are breathtaking and the surrounding area is lovely. Filey has plenty to do and is not far away scarbourgh is a little further and is your typical seasidey place but with a lovely walk up to scarborough castle. Then there's whitby I love it here its a little bit further up the coast but well worth the visit. There are great cliff top walks, lovely quaint little shops and streets all dominated by the abbey which is of course is where dracula is supposed to be buried. As for the site the entertainment is the usual haven stuff and yes you do struggle to get a seat. The food I cannot comment on as we didn't bother with it. There is a lovely beach that can be reached from the site by a free tractor but we preferred to walk. The showers and toilets on the touring side seemed clean enough to me but the weather was very dry and had been for a couple of weeks so this probably helped. I will definitely be returning to this site some time in the future

Good afternoon everyone, my name is Jon Cussins, I am the holiday sales manager for Reighton Sands.
Its interesting looking at everyone's comments and I am pleased to say that for 2009 we have made a significant investment in the touring side of the park which I want to share with you all:
Tents
The central area of the tent field has been fenced off to allow some separation between cars and tents. For those that have been before you now park around the edge and pitch tents in the middle alleviating the mess the cars can make in wet weather. Work on the drainage has also been completed, although with a great summer on the way this shouldn't be required!
Touring
For the 2008 season we had 123 grass standing electric pitches. Using the same space for 2009 we have created 79 hard standing pitches. As you can imagine this has created a lot more space 'per pitch' a lot of drainage has also been incorporated to alleviate the standing water issues.
Toilets / Showers
Over the winter period we are also putting investment back into the toilet facilities and creating extra pot wash and disabled facilities for the tenting area.
Work is still ongoing and will be completed for the new season which starts on 20th march.

The tent field is on a steep slope. We arrived to find that the lower and flattish part of the tent field full we found a suitable pitch at the top of the field on a relatively flat part. However the views made up for the slope.
The entire site looked tired and in need of a through overall. However the showers were adequately clean and so were the toilets, these too were plentiful.
The shop was well stocked and the bar was clean and the staff were friendly.
However the pool was a let down over crowded and the pile of sticking shoes outside the door were not nice. Offering storage for the shoes would be a nice touch and make the whole area look so much better.
Over all we had a nice time, though I will not be rushing back, these type of sites are what they are and expecting peace quiet and impeccable surrounding is unrealistic.

Good points - There is lots to do and the site is very busy. Lovely views and great for star gazing, as the campsite really does get very dark. The walk to the beach is steep but worth it! The shop is well stocked and prices are reasonable. The pub sold food as well as a takeaway, the prices and quality were fine. It is a central site for exploring the surrounding areas.
Not so good points - The showers and toilets were dated and really quite muddy, although the temperature was fine. The site is on top of a cliff and very windy, also uneven and poor drainage. There were quite a few badly behaved kids and parents obviously left them to their own devices.
If you like a busy holiday site, a bit like Pontins then you will enjoy a holiday here. Although our kids are 14 and 10, they aren't keen on returning to this site.

This was our second time to this park we got lucky last year and got a bargain deal this year it was still reasonable cheap and we thought we had nothing to lose. It tipped it down from start to finish to we cant comment this time on the state of the toilet and shower block as they inevitably get filthy within minutes of cleaning with dirty muddy shoes in and out all the time, although we can say they are in need of updating and maintenance but nothing major. The drainage in the tent field leads a lot to be desired it is a free for all to pitch so you have to find a space big enough for your tent, it is on a cliff edge with no fence or railings so keep your little ones near all the time. Also it is on a steep hill with flat pitches at the top and the bottom. We arrived late afternoon so all the flat pitches were taken and we ended up on the slope but within a few hours it started to rain and by the next day we were 1 of a few who weren't flooded or soggy (unlucky everyone else haha) Shop is basic and got smaller over the last year so nothing much there. The entertainment room was constantly for the kids until gone 9pm although cash bingo (from 5.45pm) had great prizes but that dependant on the bingo sales I believe. The tables were always sticky even when it had just opened, if you dont turn up by 6.30pm you haven't a hope of getting a table. The bar room was large and always a table and the food was edible but not great. On the 2 attempted visits to the pool it had been closed 1 time was because of a nappy split but it looks small and not very exciting. The amusements needed overhauling machines always breaking down pool tables in a terrible state (dirty and ripped felt unlevel legs and 1 of the tables the cushions moved!) and only about 3 or 4 pool cues useable. The place has really ran down since last year it used to be cheap and cheerful last year, but this year we got bored very quickly and were quite disappointed but that could have been weather related

Arrived at the site, having supposedly booked a pitch to suit the size of our tent,to be told to pitch anywhere in fields 1 or 2.After driving around for 10 mins we found a pitch that we could just about squeeze on.Be warned, the pitches are very close together and some are on a steep slope. Those pitches that were flat were waterlogged.Another problem you may encounter is the wind-this site is very exposed on a clifftop-so take your stormstraps. The toilet block and showers could do with a makeover, but they were clean enough. This is a big site[450+caravans] but the touring areas are quite small in comparison. The kids enjoyed the pool and amusements, but they are quite expensive as is the shop. The best thing about this site is the clifftop views and the beach. Also all the staff we met were friendly. We only went for 4 days and while we enjoyed it we wouldnt have wanted to stay any longer.Ok for a long weekend but would definitely not recommend for your main holiday.

After checking prior to our stay I have to say I was disappointed with the state of the pitches, I would say 90% of them are on a slope and in a bad state with the paving slabs supposedly for the caravan wheels either broken or sunken, there isn't a lot of room to hitch your car onto the van without encroaching onto someone else's pitch
We stayed on touring field 1 which seemed a little better than field 2 but I have to say the toilet/shower block were nothing short of filthy, it was a case of straight in and straight out, the overall state of the site is poor and seems to have been neglected somewhat
We didn't venture onto the complex much because of this and tended to go off site during the day, we ate out once and the food was OK nothing great but edible I suppose, if you have small children watch them at all times as not many people observed the 10mph speed limit and I have to say this was mainly due to the haven staff
The surrounding areas were nice with good beaches and the views from the site were good which helped somewhat but I have to say if you are thinking of visiting the area think seriously before you book here

Arrived to be told to pitch folding camper wherever was possible as were busy not good start as we booked pitch 8 months previously. Drove round touring area 1 could not find a pitch big enough to accommodate our folding camper, awning and car. So drove to touring area 2 where we managed to squash in next to the toilets. The units were so crammed in that the awning of the people behind us was about 1 foot away from our camper surely this breaks health and safety laws.Did not sleep at night due to noise into the early hours. Even though it was supposed to be quiet after 22.30 (unrealistic I know but 3.00 in the morning isn't). Our touring toilets were not too bad, but womens toilets in main bar were disgusting throughout our stay. Paddling through an inch of urine for my wife and 2 small children to use toilets without seats, paper and smeared in faeces was not pleasant. Did report problem but nothing changed.Struggling to find anything positive to say about holiday. Went home 2 days early as dog mess found at side of camper for children to play in was final straw.

The views from this campsite are breath taking!
The best attraction of this site.
The toilet blocks and showers for the tent field were dirty and smelly, but we nipped up the site to the touring field which had much nicer toilets, only 2 min walk.
The field had some steep sloping ground but also some nice flat ground which if its busy, is quickly snapped up. I can highly recommend pitching at the very top with your tent backing onto the row of trees. The wind seemed to blow from the top of the hill down towards the sea and we were the ony ones who had shelter from the trees. We had a restful night sleep :-)and whats more, we had the best view from the top looking down.
The beach is lovely, though while we were half way down a very very steep road to get to it, a free tractor ride passed us (which we were not aware of)and when we got to the bottom, the tractor driver waited for us to tell us he comes and goes every 15 mins. The kids and the dog thought this was great fun on the way back up :-)plus it saves your legs :-)
If you've been to big impressive Haven sights before such as Presthaven sands, Devon Cliffs, Hafan Y Mor etc. Then don't expect the same kind of reception or surroundings. This park has clearly been left for years and is quite dirty which was a bit of a shock for us.
The show bar main complex has loads on for the kids, shows etc. And the funstars at this haven sight are really jolly and certainly do their jobs well.
We didn't eat out so can't comment on the food but the restaurant looked very nice and there were some lovely aromas coming from it :-)Everyone looked happy and I didnt hear of any complaints.
There was some trouble on the site while we were there but this was dealt with by security who were also very friendly and helpful.
As far as camp sites go, this has everything you need but from a haven point of view, it is not the best.
Another point I must mention, there is no secure fencing around this site so people come and go through as they please. The reason we chose to camp at haven was for high levels of security we had witnessed at other sites, but at this site, that is not the case. Cars also come and go as they please, not once were we asked for passes, booking forms or anything and we arrived after 8pm.
All in all, we had a good long weekend but we do not plan to return to this site in the future. We are going to try other haven sites that let tents on, purely because the kids can't get enough of Rory the tiger :-)
