Just got back from a friday to monday break. On arrival we were instructed to find a pitch ourselves. The electric pitches are situated between static caravans which we didn't like as the children didn't have room to play their ball games. The entrance to the site is full of large speed bumps, which really shook the car and caravan. The tent pitches ( which is away from the touring part ) was extremely full.
We also had hundreds of little black bugs that covered us for the entire weekend. ( not the parks fault though.).
Very long walk down a steep hill to the beach. But must admit the beach was very clean and the water was clear, we could see the fish swimming about near our feet.
Tiolet blocks and showers were clean though, and always seemed to have someone in them cleaning.
Clubhouse was ok, and the new pub looks lovely. One bottle of wine was £11.00 though and was warm due to them running out of wine from the fridges.
Indoor play area was shut :~(.
The outdoor park was good for all ages of my children.
Swimming pool not much to be desired.
All in all its the worst haven holiday we have had and I wont return again to reighton. It cost us more to go to reighton than it did to go to blue dolphin which I find strange see as there is more to do at blue dolphin. !

Bearing in mind that Haven sites are usually fairly 'lively', unless you go off season, we tend to avoid them. However we needed a site that could accommodate 3 tents for one night at short notice, and on one of the hottest weekends of the year. So having paid £8.80 a pitch we ended up at Reighton Sands.
Yes the campsite is just a sloping field with no shelter. If you get a pitch at the top or the bottom then you are lucky. By the time we arrived at 12 noon on the Saturday it was packed. In all the years I have been camping I have never seen so many tents on one field! We were lucky to find a reasonably flat bit but an hour later more and more people were still arriving! I did wonder at what point they say they are full. We had hardly any room to sit outside our tent and you are miles away from anywhere where the kids can play.
However, in the end a great time was had by all. Despite the number of tents it wasn't particularly noisy at night. We used the pool which was a bit grubby but OK. Food in the pub was fine, nothing startling, but that's what we expected. The beach was lovely and they were running a golf buggy up and down to give people lifts. Must mention the staff who without exception were polite, friendly and helpful. Would I pay hundreds of pounds to go for a week? Probably not. But for the price we paid it was fine.

I have been camping at Reighton for several years now and always loved it. The views are stunning and facilities I've always found to be very clean with plenty of toilets and showers.
The cliff top location is stunning although as to be expected it does get rather windy so a good quality tent is needed.
This last holiday we were disappointed to find the site had made some changes. There used to be a laundry facility on the camping area which has now moved to the main complex and has increased in price. There was plug sockets near the mirrors, ideal for straighteners, charging phones and ironing these have now gone. The site shop no longer freezes ice blocks for cool boxes, and to top all this the entertainment in the complex was really bad.I know these seem like minor things but these little things make a big difference.

Thought this was a bargain- £5.50 for a pitch for one night, great! Booked online the night before and check-in was quick and friendly.
Then came the challenge- finding somewhere to park the car and pitch the tent. The outside of the field was packed with tents and there were no free parking spaces on gravel track running outside the field- the field is fenced most of the way round off so you can't park on it (well you could if it wasn't so busy and people hadn't blocked it off). There are tent spaces nearer the cliff but these weren't suitable as we felt it wasn't safe for the kids. So we parked on a bit of rough ground behind the toilet block and pitched the tent 100 yards away in the middle of the field, where it was so slopey, later on we kept waking up to find we had slid down the airbeds in the night! Also there are so many speedbumps (those awful narrow ones) if you come regularly and you don't own a 4X4 get friendly with your local mechanic because your suspension will be shot!
The toilet and shower blocks looked very clean and well lit. Can't comment on what the showers were like as we only stayed the one night and decided just to have a quick wash and change. There were no where near enough sinks for all the ladies wanting to sort out their hair and make-up. At 9pm as we were getting ready to go out I realised I'd forgotten to pack a few toiletry items and was very disappointed that the shop was already closed- you pay through the nose for these so called convenience stores so closing at 8pm and not opening until 8am is a bit out of order I think.
The beer in the bar is £2.75 a pint and it was tepid and flat. I asked one of the bar ladies if I could have a pint that was cold this time and she looked at me blankly. The 'entertainment' was absolutely awful. I don't know how far they looked to find an act so bad! A singing duo who were completely out of tune and their dancing about the stage was so bad it was cringeworthy. They sang some of my favourite songs in the most corny, cheesy way. They murdered 'Sex on Fire' and even manage to kill the 'Killers'! Awful! The only enthusiastic applause they got was when they said it was their last song.
My boys who are 10 and 7 said the dancing songs afterwards were 'lame' and sat colouring instead!
This is one of the big Haven camps and to be honest it wasn't our cup of tea. Too crowded, too expensive(apart from the ground fee). You can see a lot of money has gone into the place and the facilities, but we won't be going again I don't think.

Stayed here on what turned out to be a very wet weekend in March! But this didn't spoil the fun, not as big as some other Haven sites but had good facilities, new golf course being dug out behind touring pitches so a little muddy with the rain we had.
Club was entertaining and Mash and Barrel pub has been refurbished to a good standard. Toilets and showers were cleaned regularly and site wardens patrolled daily and were helpful. We had a day out in nearby Bridlington which I must say was looking a little rundown, we had a revolting meal in the steps cafe (avoid)
Would definitely use site again!

Just got back from Reighton today. First holiday with the tourer (have stayed there numerous times in a static). Myself, Mrs, 9 year old, 4 year old & 7 month old. Spacious hard standing pitch. Toilet / Shower block were clean but in my opinion do need some updating. Didn't really use the entertainment facilities this visit as we spent the evenings in the van, but when we did go in the complex it looked clean enough. All staff (and other touring guests) were friendly. We will definitely go again as we love the area, lots to do so use as a base really. We went initially for 4 nights, for £22! (last minute offer off website) then paid £29 (weekend) for a further 2 nights, so £51 for 6 nights - BARGAIN!

Spent two nights at the site early sept (1st weekend after term started) it was lovely, not too busy. We had great weather though which always helps! went to the beach very steep slope but free tractor train ride up and down. An ice cream van serves the beach but no toilets or anything down there (didn't bother us really but heard a few other complaints but surely the loos would smell etc)
The beach is lovely and flat and was more or less clean (few bits of rubbish but that's down to the guests not the site)
The pitches are quite close together which was a bit off putting as we have a toddler who likes a run around, not much space for that. But we didn't spend much time at the caravan.
The pool was closed while we were there (someone had 'been ill')
We went to the entertainment in the family bar - cheesey but keeps the kids busy. Was a disco with a competition for the kids.
Characters dancing etc the kids love it (and the parents get some peace!)
Theres an arcade with games and rides (£1 a go) and a bar serving food (bit like a brewsters)
Overall, the site is a little 'tired' but its okay for a cheap getaway if you have kids. Get there early as pitches are not allocated.
(and the tent field is quite near the edge of the cliff so keep a close eye on kids! tent field wasn't very level but was big and not very busy)
Would maybe return but will try the other haven and the like sites first

If you have small children this is paradise found, if you don't and if you like a little peace and quiet this is paradise lost. The paradise being the astonishingly beautiful view from this cliff top site, although you inevitably risk some strong wind now and again. Arrive early for the many flat sites or you will be sloping but not badly.
Lots of showers and loos nearby, cleaned often but could do with another clean late at night or early morning. The warden never appeared, litter is a wind driven problem, the shop is well stocked but not at supermarket prices, the free shows are worth that amount, the bar prices can may you gulp and the cafe meals are pricey for very average fare.
It was noisy late at night, and children were up at dawn, so be warned. But the views, the beach and the area is truly lovely. Children have free everything - swimming pools, games, entertainment, a paradise found

Stayed here as two couples, with two tents, in September. All in all time, and money, well spent.
The previous reviewers cover the site pretty accurately, so I will try not repeating much that has already been said, but no doubt will, as that’s the only way to describe the site.
The complex is fairly modest by Haven standards of size and is the classic tin “city of the static caravan” upon the cliffs in the Filey bay area. It is a good base for exploring the East and North Yorkshire coast from. The beach is easily accessed by a steep path down to it, but there is a tractor pulled train service that runs throughout the day.
The 120 bus is a special holiday camp bus service that runs from Bridlington to Scarborough servicing all the camps on the way. The bus stop is just outside the supermarket and reception area. The site is some way from any settlement, so a walk to the local village pub is not an option.
The tent area is indeed on a steep slope, but fairly flat at the bottom and top, with some reasonable areas to be found on the main hill if you can spot them.
Wind is a problem here (a few people suffered broken poles, and some just packed up and left) so a sound tent and good pitching is required. There are a few spots like the top of the field, in front of some trees and bushes, and at the bottom, near the gas tank enclosure fence, that have protection from the wind. As there are no set pitches, its first come first served so getting their early, and in a low season time of year will give the best chance of a decent pitch.
Shower, pot washing and toilet block is close to the field and is of a fairly good standard; although I can understand how the place could quickly deteriorate to have a muddy floor in busy peak periods (but this can be said of all campsite toilet blocks). One whinge is the pot washing sinks: only one out of six had a plug – not a thing I carry as part of my standard kit, but will from now on.
On site “entertainment” is as expected for a Haven site; bar that also serves food (at pretty much regular pub prices), amusement arcade, swimming pool, fish and chip shop and “show bar” (pretty naff entertainment in my view, but then again I’m no longer five years old; which I think is the target audience age, until the “disco” later on which I gave a miss).
On site supermarket is not over extortionate, and has a good selection, and is the place to get your freezer packs re-frozen (for free). There is a Somerfield in Filey at will probably satisfy the more cost conscious amongst us.
Although the Haven type static craven mega city is not my cup of tea I found this site an excellent base camp for one reason: cost. Given the time of our stay, second week in September (kids back at school), the price for four week days was just too good to ignore (the same cost as just one night’s stay at some sites).
I assume that in peak periods in the summer the site gets very busy, and that it would not appeal to me then, as the facilities would be pushed too far. However, I can see the appeal for people with kids.
In short this site might not be up everyone’s street, but if you go off peak when the kids are back at school, and your lucky with the weather then is an excellent choice, and an absolute bargain.

Me and my family of 6 me, my dad, 2 teenage brothers aged 16 and 13, my 20 year old brother and my mum went to Reighton sands (also knone as Reighton gap)for a week.
Lets start with the bad news:
First of all the camp site, It was on a hill that people kept slipping down when it was wet. It rained all night every night and was sunny all day. But then people on the camp site getting drunk and shouting and swearing when we was trying to sleep they wasn't looking were they was going and tripping over and falling into our and other peoples tents!
2nd off the entertainment was rubbish. To get a seat in the entertainment bit you had to queue up an hour before it even started. If all you wanted was a bag of chips you have to take your fun passes every wear other wise you wouldn't be able to get in to the club!
Third off the prices in the supermarket was very inflated way to high. I brought my daughter and son a yard beaker thing and it cost 3 pound 75, and to refill it it was one pound ninety five. In the super market I think it was like 2 pound ten just for a standered bottle of milk! There was also a launderette witch you had to bye tokens for it all the way at the other side of the camp site at the supermarket. To get to the beach you had to either catch a train witch was a tractor with a trailer on the back witch didn't run after about 2.30pm and if the train thingy wasn't on then you would have to walk down a very steep hill witch if you lost your balence you would be in a ditch,it was concerted but if you had a weal chair or push chair then you would have a heck of a long time pushing it up!
The soft play area was tiny and was like a biggish box with cushions in it!
Now for the good points:
The toilets and showers was clean the only thing that was wrong with the showers was they was a little on the small side. The washing pot area was also clean. The play ground was a little on the small side for the whole park but it wasn't that bad. My brother said that the mens toilets and showers was cleaned regular.
It is close to Filey and not that far from brid. If you fancied a nice long walk down the beach then you can walk to filey we did!
Its a lovely clifftop location and a lovely view out to sea, if you wake up early to see the sun set and rise it is beautiful and if you have some binoculars and look out to sea you can see boats and ships.
I've only been to one other haven site witch was golden sands when I was younger that's the one in Mablethorpe. Golden Sands is a bit better. But this one is a bit better than that one as well but in different ways.
To top it all of I think the site was not too bad
