When we arrived at the site the staff were helpful and the site was very clean! We attempted to pitch our tent and due to the high winds it snapped 3 poles and a took 3 hours to get the tent up!
After a windy night and seeing a few tents blow over we decided to go see what was on site to entertain the kids! The swimming pool was horrible the floor dirty and the smell was horrible after 15 mins I made the children get out! Not clean at all! However the arcades were great fun!
The toilets & showers on site were clean and the children's entertainers were great kids had loads of fun!
For what we paid it was ok but think Haven need to mention about the high winds on site! We were not ready for that and since have had to buy a new tent the high winds ruined it!

We have stayed here loads of times and have noticed a considerable change.
The entertainment centre has been revamped a little. The bar area looks and feels a lot better than the old set up. The pool is just as bad as it ever was, not cleaned and lacking in proper supervision. I would never consider using it. The amusement area is great fun for a while and the kids seem to love it.
The shower/toilet block is clean and useable but take your own loo roll just in case.
The pot wash is one of the best we have seen, under cover and always supplies hot water.
The tent pitches are okay if you know where to pitch for a decent stay, either at the top of the hill or the very bottom. Don't get cocky and pitch on the slope, it just doesn't work.
It does get a bit windy, the site is right next to the coastal edge so use your common sense and pitch your tent accordingly. We have never had tent problems and we have turned up in some terrible weather.
This site is big so expect a lot of people. The last time we stayed it was packed, kids, dogs, screaming adults, and that was just us!.
This site offers great entertainment and is close by to the rest of the coastal towns. The walk down to the beach is great fun, it's the walk back up that damn hill that takes the smile off your face!
People from all kinds of background use this site all with one thing in mind, to enjoy themselves, and they do. If you want solitude and quietness lock yourself in your shed because this site is not isolated or quiet. Most of the time it is peaceful but some of the time a lot of people are milling about. This is after all a large family site.
It's great value for money and the staff are excellent. Site security is acceptable, (subjective viewpoint), we have never been threatened, robbed or kidnapped but I do think it could do with improving.
It's not the Ritz but it's not the Pitz either. It's a nice blend of everyone rubbing along together to achieve one aim. Getting away.

Just returned from caravanning for a weekend at Reighton Sands and found the site to be very clean and great value for money. Plenty to do and handy for local resorts.
Had a meal in the Mash and Barrel and the on site fish and chip shop. Although the service was very good I didn’t rate the food for value for money or quality.
I would not recommend this site for tents. The site is on a steep slope with strong winds from the sea!

Just returned from a weekend break at this lovely site. We have never been before, but were really impressed.
The site is kept nice and tidy, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. We should have had a standard 2 bed caravan, but for some reason got a 3 bed standard caravan, which came in handy for storage.
The caravan was very clean. We had a lovely view of the sea. You do need a car really for this site, as it is situated away from the main road, but buses to Scarborough and Brid do run from the reception area of the park, but I think they are only every hour.
Was very impressed, and will definitely go back here. Took my mum, who at 75, has never been on a caravan holiday before, and she loved it!

Booked in for a Monday to Friday shake down session for our recently acquired Pennine Pathefinder 600. Was met by very friendly staff, sent to area 2 with EHU, managed to get one that was almost level. EHU very close by, water also very handy.
Decided to extend stay for 2 more days and had to go onto camping area (no probs as short notice over kids hols).
The tent field is crazy, they expect people to pitch their tents on the side of a hill, needless to say, tents were everywhere other than the tent area.
The site that I was supposed to go to was surrounded by a fence.??? useful with a trailer, was allowed to camp the shore side of the road, all happy.
I have never seen so many static mobiles crammed into such a small site.
The camp is currently undergoing a revamp, JCB dumpers and other random plant equipment made for a very noisy and sometimes hazardous stay.
Mash and Barrel is a very modern and welcoming watering hole.
Certainly campers and tourers are (what seems) a very low priority.
It would be nice if the minority of campers who abuse the facilities could be recognised and requested to move on. Not a quiet place.

Just spent 3 nights here to try out our new caravan. We were greeted by the wardens who were very helpful and let us choose our own pitch (area 1) and showed us where all amenities were in that area.P itching area was hardstanding and of a good size and well maintained it is on a slight slope so you do need level blocks. Toilet block was new so was clean and tidy. The whole site seems to have had a revamp so all facilities were excellent. The mash and barrel pub served good food and had very friendly staff. Great location to visit near by towns of Scarborough & Bridlington. Short walk to a fantastic beach from site.Over all we had a fantastic holiday will definitely be going again.

Reading some of these other reviews I am going to have to revise my own, this place may warrant another visit.
When we arrived we were welcomed to the site and shown where to pitch our tent.
The weather was a little cool, dull and a little windy.
The main campsite was quite full so we decided to pitch on the side of the site area near the wildlife reserve.
After we started pitching the tent the wind picked up and the ground sheet started to act like a sail, warning!
After the tent was pitched we decided to have a wash.
I needed to use the disabled bath and my wife used the shower block, these facilities were above average, there was a waste area and washing-up facilities also available.
We decided to go out and went to Filey just down the road, it was a little busy and then the rain hit us.
It was getting late so we went back to our tent.
That night we struggled to sleep as the tent tried to leave the hill.
The facilities at Haven were available to everyone and because of the weather were well visited.
There is a bar restaurant, swimming pools, arcade, cabaret bar and on site shop.
The shop was quite reasonably priced.
Unfortunately, along with half the people on the campsite, we cut our holiday short so did not have a chance to explore further.
The lesson, don't pitch on the side of a cliff in a storm.
As we drove home the sun came out, typical!

We visited Reighton Sands for a week in September with family. Ourselves, parents and teenage nieces and nephew.
We arrived early on site on the Saturday and were greeted warmly. We were given directions to the tent field and sent on our way. Due to arriving on a Saturday (the majority of people seemed to arrive Friday and leave Sunday) we were limited in our choice of pitches. We however found a space and pitched the tent.
First night was fine but on the second night we experienced 60mph winds which shook the tent and made for a few sleepless nights. The tent however stayed put (small, badly pitched tents would probably of not been so lucky) but did mean that we chose to re-pitch the tent in a different area. Once moved we found the wind less intense however other campers then tended to crowd the ten.
The toilet block was cleaned throughout the day and always clean. The showers are however only open from 7am – 8pm which was a slight inconvenience when you had to rush back to make sure you could wash. Also the showers could do with the addition of a shower curtain as it is impossible to shower without the water missing the shower tray and covering the floor. Although we never queued and always seemed lots of hot water.
Our family also spent the week in a touring caravan near the tent field where the pitches are very small with very little room to spend time outside the caravan due to the close proximity of other touring pitches. There also seemed to be a lot of owners who allowed their dogs to foul all over the grassy areas, with very little policing from the site.
We spent a few evenings in the complex. All staff were friendly, and keen to help. There seems to be a contrast between the tired, damp and dark show bar with the new mash and barrel bar. The Mash and Barrel provided a nice relaxing modern atmosphere to enjoy a drink, however unless drinking pints the prices were expensive (£11 for a bottle of corona and small glass of wine) and the food was nothing more that microwave food re-heated for a relatively high price. The show bar is tired and old with a permanent damp smell, and lack lustre entertainment, in need of some renovation to bring it upto date.
The beach is wonderful and well worth the steep walk back up to the campsite, with breath taking views.
On recommendation we chose to use the Chinese takeaway (China China) in Hunmanby twice as it delivered to the campsite. We gave comprehensive directions to our pitch and on the first occasion the food arrived hot, tasty and within 25 minutes. However on the second occasion we were quoted 25 minutes for delivery and received the food an hour and 25 minutes later. And even then we had to collect from reception. The delivery driver had spent an hour driving round the campsite, unable to find the tent which is fair enough, but never once got in contact to ask for any further help. The food is lovely but would recommend meeting them at reception to ensure you receive the food hot.
On the whole an ok campsite but the emphasis seems to be on static caravan owners rather than touring guests, and nearly all the site is in need of modernisation but overall an enjoyable visit.

We booked this trip as we were sold on the idea of waking up on what is a cliff top overlooking the sea, and it did not disappoint. We arrived and were booked in very quickly and given a map of the immediate vicinity and we set of in search of a pitch, we unfortunately could not get as close to the cliff top as we would have liked but non the less got a nice spot midway up what is quite a steep incline, I would recommend using 'rock pegs' to pitch your tent, not as the ground is hard but they are much longer and will hold your tent better. It gets very windy, but for my family it added to the experience and when the sea mist comes over, that adds extra atmosphere to the eerie tales we tell each other.
As with other Haven sites the children's arcades and entertainment are great, the Mash and Barrel restaurant was good value with offers each day on food and drink. The wash station is well maintained with very very hot water. The shower facilities are also very clean with plenty of hot water. The on site shop is very well stocked with everything you would need. What is nice is there is a little walk way down to the beach and on a nice day I would imagine gets quite busy. We did witness a little trouble from 2 tents, but they were asked to leave immediately, which again is a credit to the wardens st Haven. Out and about, Scarborough is a lovely seaside village to visit and great fish and chips, we took a power boat ride which the kids really enjoyed.
We will return this year we hope, our camping calendar is getting rather full. All in all great site, very clean and great value for money.

I would not go to this camp site ever again it was not a very clean site and the tent pitch was a disgrace we had to clean up the pitch before pitching the tent.
We had to pitch on the outskirts of the tenting area at the bottom because the field was very steep, the top and bottom were 'very' cosy to say the least. There are no set pitches you just set up where you like.
The toilet and shower block was always clean when the cleaners left them but the inconsiderate people on the site ensured they would be filthy within minutes.
The entertainment complex is very nice although a little crowded and the price of the meals and drinks are a good reason for this as its probably 1 of the best value for money bar and restaurants we have visited.
The surrounding area is very nice only a few minutes drive to Scarborough, Filey and Bridlington all with very good beaches and shops.
