This is a very nice campsite. The wardens and owners are very friendly and helpful. We were made to feel most welcome.
The facilities are new and kept very clean. Even though they are quite small I never had to wait. There is a freezer for freezer blocks, a washing machine and tumble drier and 3 sinks for dishes.
There is no shop on the site but the nearest shop is a farmshop right next door, it is about a 20 minute walk to a small supermarket and a massive tesco about a 10 minute drive away.
There are a selection of pubs within walking distance or a short drive away.
The camping field we were in is huge, even with 60 tents in it there was still room for the kids to play various ball games. There is a smaller camping field and the caravan area with hook-ups.
The area is lovely and it is difficult to believe you are on the edge of a large city when you are here.
The only downside to this site is that the ground is very stoney.
We will definitely be returning to this site.

We found this site quite easily. First impressions, a new block, which housed an empty office, and which obviously housed the toilet block. A lack of signs and barriers, and 'prettiness' like hanging baskets, as you enter. It was not initially clear as to where to park up and check in. As I have said, signs (which are so familiar on Caravan Club Sites) need to be put in place, like the obvious One Way, 5pmh etc etc. I had to ask where the chemical toilet block was. It wasn't that obvious!
Saying all this, Stella greeted us warmly, and was very approachable. Her actual office is on site, in a caravan on Pitch 4, which makes her visible which has its advantages. We stayed on Pitch 9 and was delighted to find it was actually a serviced pitch, but we were unaware of this, and something that the owners should advertise. Its quite a luxury, after all.
The toilet block was new, but as the grass cuttings are not picked up too well, the floor could get quite messy from time to time. The pitches were OK, but a lack of boundaries with shrubs etc would soften the site considerably. Turning left on the A3025, takes you to a toll road/bridge which takes you straight to the Isle of Wight Red Funnel Ferry terminal, literally a 10 min drive away, so handy for trips to / from IOW.
Overall, a very under-estimated site.

Just got back from 3 nights here. It was my first camping trip so I can't compare to other sites but, as others have said in reviews, new toilet block is good, clean, works well, got freezer. My issues were that I had a toddler with me and the pitch we were given was a long way from the block (different field) and there was no temperature control over the, very hot, showers. There is a way round this, the disabled shower has a thermostat and is big enough to fit a family in, but you need to make arrangements to borrow the key, preferably when you arrive. We spoke to the warden about it, who didn't have the key and I kept going back to his caravan over the next 2 days, but no-one was in. Gave up eventually.
Also found road noise to be a problem. I'm a very light sleeper and traffic woke me up a lot. Lots of aeroplanes too.
Nice pub close by (Harvester) with good indoor and outdoor play facilities, and nice food, though they had run out of a lot of stuff. You can walk to this pub from the site but only if you don't mind walking on the road most of the way, and take a torch!
Very close to nearby Southampton, HUGE Tesco nearby.

We found the wardens friendly and helpful, the toilet block was lovely, warm and kept clean, but, We had booked a pitch with hookup, so we arrived at the site to find it had been double booked, someone was already on the pitch we should have had, so we were given another but this although spacious was right opposite the farm scrapheap, not very inspiring this however was the only blight on our holiday. Also one of the photos on their website is misleading because you can't see the solent through any trees.

Just had 3 nights here and liked it.The showers etc are very good and clean and the price, inc water and hook up was reasonable.Caught the hourly bus( no.16) from 150 yrds down the road into the city which took 15 mins and only cost £5 return.Great value. My only gripe is the traffic noise which was loud enough to wake me up at 5.30 am but that's because I was pitched near the road.
Ask for a pitch at the back and you'll be fine.
Will definitely return.

Had a nice 5 night stay on site. This is not the prettiest site we have ever stayed at, however all the facilities are new and good (as noted previously). Also note there is a washing machine and tumble drier in the washing/washing up room (not mentioned on the web site).
The site was relatively quiet when we arrived mid-week, however it got very busy (and very noisy) Friday and Saturday nights. There was also some noise from Southampton airport and adjacent Grange Road is quite busy.
There was plenty to do in the area and plenty of local shops for provisions. If you want to catch the bus into Southampton the No 16 runs very close to the site and there are regular buses throughout the day.

Had a pleasant bank holiday weekend at this site. Large level camping field in which we had free choice as where to pitch. We settled on a spot at the furthest side and had plenty of space all weekend. Everyone had chosen to pitch at the edges of the field which left a large area which was perfect for ball games, kite flying etc. This was great as it meant our 9 and 6 year old boys were able to play safely within our sight and no need for a playground!
There was a little distant road noise at night but not enough to disturb us and overall this was a quiet site. The toilet and shower block was well equipped with a freezer for ice packs and good washing up facilities.
There is a Harvester restaurant nearby which was useful after pitching late on the friday and we also visited The Millhouse pub which is a little way up the road from the site and found the food to be good value for money (take note that children are not allowed on premises after 9pm). This is a basic site but with a 24hr Tescos only 5 minutes away you needn't worry about it not having a shop and we'd definitely visit again.

We stayed at this site for the Whitsun weekend and I agree the facilities are brand new and lovely. The problems we had was the dog walk field was being used by tents so you couldn't let your dogs off the lead.
Also we booked 2 pitches together both with electric hook-up, we had to use a 'splitter' as there was only one hook up point for the 2 pitches. This meant we had to watch what we put on at the same time or the point 'blew' most inconvenient in the morning for a cuppa so one of us used the gas kettle.
But overall we had a good time the pitches were large and flat the ground was very hard and agree with the previous review the pegs and the windbreak were hard to put into the ground.

Spent BH weekend here and I must say its a very nice site. Pitches are spacious and flat (although I found it hard to put the awning pegs in). The toilet / showers facilities are brand new, clean and the showers are hot. There are plugs for hairdryers etc too in the ladies.
There is a busy road but I we never really heard much noise. The shops are a 5 min drive away and if you want to visit any of the pubs you will need to drive (not in walking distance).
Its a great base for exploring the local area and the Royal Victoria Park offers plenty of walks.

We stayed at the site for a weekend and we were really impressed with the new toilet block. The site warden was helpful and suggested places that we could visit.
Our daughter came with us and because of the weather spent most of the weekend in the tent reading, but I think she may have been bored with no children's facilities.
