So glad they could fit us in for our three night stay. A lovely spacious site and although busy there was plenty of space between neighbouring pitches. Good laundry facilities with a microwave if you needed it. Very clean toilet and shower block (And an extra mental tick for toilet brushes as it's nice to be able to leave toilets clean after using them) Free and roomy showers with lovely warm water.
Electric hookups, and water hookups too. Recycling facilities and toilet disposal. Good security on the gates and helpful and friendly owners.
Great pub nearby (The Plough) which served small portions of many of its main meals and had friendly and helpful staff. Site also close to shops.
Great location for visiting Southampton, Portsmouth and the New Forest.
Haven't rated it for child friendliness as there weren't any children on site when we were there and didn't see any play area.
Would happily recommend

Lovely site. Friendly staff. Very reasonable sized pitches. Excellent facilities, which were always kept clean. Will definitely visit again if ever in the Portsmouth/Southampton areas. Very easy to get to the M27 for Portsmouth Park and Ride (approx. 14 miles). Nice large Tescos store only a few minutes away, very handy. Be aware of Chinese takeaway menu at reception, which is only a mile away in nearby village (Netley Abbey), we ordered from them and it didn't turn up, they didn't let us know, when we chased they said they couldn't find us!

Stayed on this site for one night as it was very handy for the Southampton ferry terminals, and to be fair one night was plenty. On arrival we were met by a gentleman whos manner seemed very abrupt, explaining that he was expecting us much earlier in the day (it was only 5pm). We were shown to a pitch which was a good size although the grass looked like it hadn't been cut in a while. The site toilet/ shower blocks were clean and tidy. The road passing the site was very busy with constant traffic noise. We were awoken in the morning by traffic and noise from lorrys working at the local refuse tip just down the road from the site. We probably wouldn't use this site again.

Had 4 nights on this site and all in all not a bad site, toilet and showers all ok, has launderette which we didn't use, pitches are a mixture of grass and hardstanding with electric hook up and water and waste water posts although ours (pitch 8) took ages to drain but looking at the state of the drain cover it was not surprising (pretty caked with slime and sludge). Staff are friendly and helpful.
Site has chemical waste point opposite reception which is undercover so no getting wet if raining.
Don't know much about the area apart from there is a tescos up the road which is big and they do petrol and diesel, as we spent most our time in gosport visiting family.
All in all a good little site that serves its purpose and I would go back if in the area.

First visit to this site but it will not be the last we did extend our stay to 10 days would have liked to stay longer but had other commitments. We had a hardstanding fully serviced pitch. The location of the site is great. Turn left from the site exit and you can access the fabulous Victoria Park and its walks also a nice café for a refreshment stop(we went every day) also you can access a car park nearby to watch the ships/boats going in and out of harbour. Site is fully signposted from M27 only 5 minute drive away easy access to Portsmouth, Fort Nelson etc. ,
Spotless toilets and full recycling facilities. Excellent all round site brilliant for dog owners.

Firstly I must say that Stella (the owner) is a lovely person and couldn't be more helpful when we arrived here however we were not that impressed by the site to be honest.
The toilet blocks were not cleaned for the 2 nights were were there. I know this for a fact because there was detritus in one of the showers that I used, which was there for the time we were there; plus a mirror I used for the 2 days had the same marks on it throughout. I suspect they were given a quick refresh (change of handsoaps, picking up litter etc) but not a full clean. It would help if the very old mop and pail of dirty water for users to mop the showers, were changed as they were very tired. Not that anyone appeared to bother mopping the showers after them!
As has been mentioned elsewhere there are a number of workmen staying on site which my wife found rather intimidating as she walked past their caravans. They also tend to 'take over' the washrooms at the end of the workday with all facilities taken and workboots etc lying all over the place.
As the site is positioned on a main road the road noise is very palpable too. If you do stay try and get a pitch as far away from the road as possible. Its a longer walk to the washrooms but would be worth it.
The Elsan toilet area must be right next to the cess pit and it absolutely honked! I would hate to be there on a warm/hot day!
Price-wise it is a very expensive site. It charges by the length of your unit (more if you are over 8. 1m long) so we being 8. 7m long were charged £30 a night. In October! In high season this would have been £34. It is fair to say that the pitches are fully serviced and large however we could have fitted on any of the pitches there as they are all a good size. The one we were on was twice the length of our unit! On top of this we then also had to pay for wifi on top!
We cannot comment on the pubs as there is no pathway to them and you have to walk on a grass verge alongside the busy road.
There was no play area for children.

This was our third stay at this site, on our way to or from the ferry at Portsmouth.
The trouble started when we arrived the new gates wouldn't open apparently I was not lined up properly with the camera. It turned out the problem was its an ANPR camera and my car was not registered, corrected this and we entered.
Whilst sitting having a cuppa we were informed we were on the wrong side of the (invisible) pitch dividing line, and would have to move!
Later after we had been out for dinner again we could not access the site, an officious man came and asked in a very brusque manner what we were trying to do, after explaining we would like to get to our caravan he told me out car wasn't registered which was our fault.
We decided to go elsewhere on our way back, thereby losing £25.

Our 3rd and not last visit to Sunnydale.
This is our goto site for a quiet relaxing break an hour from home.
Love it here and cant wait to return.
Everything is still as good as it has always been and a friendly welcome is usually forthcoming.
We enjoy our days at Queen Victoria country park too to watch the cruise ships leaving Southampton Harbour.

This is the second time we have been here and will definitely be back again. Only 10 miles along the road from us but ideal just to get away. A ten minute walk away from Netley Grange, a Fayre and Square pub, good food, excellent puddings and good value. We had a local Indian takeaway delivered right to the site {menu found in information/dish wash room}. Owners very friendly and exceedingly helpful when we couldn't get our electric hook up to work. Shower block always nice and warm and clean.

This is our 2nd visit to this site, The washrooms are immaculate at anytime of the day, they are spacious and they have under floor heating the water is also nice and hot. There is a laundry room with washing up facilities and a microwave and kettle. In the reception there is a small shop selling basics, and a huge supermarket is close by. Many of the pitches are hard standing and the grass ones are level and well drained with water and a light on each pitch, the site also has a large dog walk area. We found this site to be peaceful and relaxing and Stella and Bill obviously work very hard to keep the site in fantastic order. It is in easy reach of the docks and the New Forest, we have not really explored the local area so can not comment on this. I do feel this site is a little expensive but you get what you pay for and given its cleanliness and its location I think its worth the extra.
