We stayed at this site for a few days on a general tour of the South coast. Although the site does cater for Rvs it's an awkward entrance for the larger units (American Fifth Wheel) and the enormous ornamental anchor at one entrance doesn't help.
It's a gently sloping site with good facilities although they became a little crowded when hordes of weekend campers arrived and despite the best attempts of the cleaners the shower block was covered in wet grass on more than one occasion.
Since the site is completely open and many of the vans are seasonal it has something of a ghost town atmosphere until the bank holiday weekend when it rapidly filled up. A tad expensive for the limited facilities - ask for a pitch well away from the entrances since the morning and evening rush hour traffic generates a lot of unwanted noise.

This site is flat and featureless, not even small hedges between pitches. Toilets are by reception and are nice and clean. Owner was on her own and seemed to be always harassed. There is nothing much right about this site and there is nothing much wrong. If you want somewhere to sleep as you spend the days exploring it is fine. Well signposted and fairly easy to find.

We have just returned from Sunnydale Farm. Stayed there for seven nights. We stayed there four years ago. Now with the new facilities in use, enjoyed the site previously. Now even better. Always have a fully serviced pitch. And worth every penny. HIGHLY RECOMMEND a visit. Close to Southampton Water. Car park near Netley Abbey. To watch the cruise liners. Etc going in and out. And short drive to New Forest. Thanks

This site is ideal if you are stopping off before or after your ferry, we would not use it as a holiday site! It had no character or atmosphere ( bearing in mind that it was February but that the site was quite busy ). We did not find the welcome very friendly at all, in fact we have had much better!. The site owner did come across as a little stressed that day !. We had a fully serviced pitch, except that it wasn't as there is no tv point. Also the point was a bit away from our pitch so we had to find more pipe to fit the length. Someone else said earlier about some of the hardstandings being narrower in the front and wider at the back, the back being for the caravan and narrow in the front for the car ! You do tend to step out of your car into the mud (the front being quite narrow) which you then trudge into your awning/van, I agree that if you are paying for a hardstanding you do not want to still be walking in mud !. The showers and toilets are spotless and I don't think can be faulted at all, exceptionally clean ! Water lovely and hot. The site itself is mainly just a couple of fields very close to a busy road, which we could hear although on the other side of the field !. Also although we were'nt bothered by aircraft noise we were constantly bothered by the bangs from the bird scarer. It woke me up in the mornings and Continued throughout the day untill the evening ! Our dog is scared of fireworks and was not happy ! There are no facilities for children, the dog walk area was very good. Not knocked out with the area, nicest place was Hamble which was lovely. A very mixed review all in all but the most important question to be answered is would we return here again ? No I think not.

Excellent site! You are always made very welcome here. Great, clean facilities and in easy reach(a short drive) of Netley Abbey, the Hamble river and Royal Victoria Country Park.
There is a good range of shops in Netley village and a 24hr Tesco is only five minutes by car. Southampton and Portsmouth are also within easy reach as is the massive retail park just off the M27.
Dogs are welcome (if their owners are well behaved!) and there are some great walks close by.
This is our third stay at Sunnydale and we would recommend it highly. Low season costs are very reasonable!

We stayed overnight with friends at this site, we had actually been earlier on in the year as well. We were surprised that is was quite busy but that was most probably due to the weather being so nice for the time of year. Very handy for nearby Southampton, and a nice pub doing various food about a mile away. The facilities on site were very clean and lovely hot showers. We were only there for the one night so we visited the pub, used the facilities and went into Southampton. Had a really nice break.

We had a great stay here at this campground for 4 nights, Very nice place and we would return. We had a day out in Portsmouth getting the train from Netley.
Very nice fresh fruit and veg shop next door, Two fayre and square pubs one in each direction on the main road. Sunday is a great big car boot near Tesco. I am registered blind and felt very safe at Sunnydale.
PS We had a visit from 3 chickens every afternoon.

I visited here with my wife for one night on the way to catch a ferry. The camp is clean with a variety of pitches, for caravans, tents, with and without electric. The toilet block is clean and secure, and the washing up facilities and well maintained. Could not have wished for a more friendly welcome.
Can recommend the pub down the road for a dinner.
Will be booking again next year for same reason.

Booked in for 7 nights ended up staying 12 nights. Had great stay. Sight is brilliant base for exploring area. Had several days in Portsmouth 2 in Isle of Wight and also visited the New Forest. Sites is basic but everything cleaned daily and found the staff very helpful. Also one of the best Indian restaurants I have ever been in Netley. Just atip for anyone visiting Portsmouth make sure you use the park and ride, this is great value, 2 pounds per car includes all day parking plus bus transfer for up to 5 people. I made mistake first day of parking on seafront cost me 10 pounds. Just a note for one of previous reviewers, they mentioned could be better if there was somewhere nearby for kids to explore. We spent one day in. Westwood which is about 5 minutes walk away from sites. This was great place to explore, you can walk down to the beach through the woods, down to Netley Abbey and explore or even walk into Southampton. Overall plenty to occupy you if you feel like exploring.

I visited here with my family for a few days. The camp is clean with a variety of pitches, for caravans, tents, with and without electric. The toilet block is clean and secure, and the washing up facilities and well maintained. It would have been nice to have more facilities for children - not necessarily a playground, just a wild area to explore.
