We have just returned from 4 nights at Sunnydale Farm Camping & Caravan Site. It is a site we will be returning to again when in that area, without a doubt. A big bonus being open all year. Convenient being so near to Southampton, & so near to local shops, pubs, places of interest, parks and bus stops etc. The site itself is well sign posted, so is easy to find and access is good. The site is open & pretty being surrounded by fields with very level good sized pitches, especially the fully serviced hard standing pitches. Facilities are good - WC/shower block having under floor heating (very welcome, especially on those chilly mornings!). As well as an indoor area with washing-up and veg prep sinks, washing machines & tumble dryers and sinks for hand washing. There is a huge doggie walk/exercise area on site which is a real bonus. Staff are friendly and attentive. Only draw back is that the site in very close to a busy road but this is certainly not a problem. This site is a real winner in lots of respects.

We stayed here for 2 nights on our way to France. The welcome was friendly and informative. The pitches are a good size. There were however a lot of workers staying in caravans behind us which was a little off putting. It was nice to have the chickens roaming around.
We tried a couple of the local pubs but they were a little run down, understaffed and loud. Hamble is lovely - quite a contrast to the area around the campsite and more upmarket.
We would not return here but would only recommend it for a stopover for the ferries.

Quite easy site to find & handy for Southampton, bus stops for both Southampton & Hamble are about 5 to 7 minutes walk, there are no footpaths or streetlights though. Pitch was a good size but there seemed to be a lot of workers staying there in caravans, toilets/showers very busy at peak times. The showers were OK but a bit basic & in need of a bit of tlc. Didn't try the pubs so can't comment on them.

Lovely site, staff were friendly in helping us find our pitch and showing us the facilities. We stayed for 5 nights, then stored for 2 nights whilst we went to a wedding. Site was quiet, there is a busy road next to it but it didn't bother us and there were no rowdy campers. The toilet facilities were good, ladies clean, although husband said he had to report faeces everywhere in men's one day. There are indoor washing facilities, and laundry but I thought this a bit expensive at £3. 50 a wash. Serviced pitches have own electric, water and waste drain. Elsan point is literally a toilet in a shelter, there is a hose but I found it had very little pressure behind it for washing out. There are bins and recycling but when busy these quickly become full.
Site is well sign posted - has official signpost signs from the village, and yellow signs as you approach.
Site is close to Southampton and Portsmouth and we found so much to do, nothing on site but plenty of running area for kids and free roam chickens to keep them entertained.

Just returned from a 5 night stay at Sunnyvale Farm. Had a great time. Great location for visiting Southampton & Portsmouth. Spacious pitches with easy electric & water hook-up. Tesco Extra 5 minutes away a great bonus! We found toilet block very convenient, well lit, clean & well looked after, with plenty of hot water. We will definitely return very soon.

I found Sunny dale campsite on UKCampsite.co.uk where the reviews were positive. When booking the lady on the phone was very helpful and gave us very good directions from the M27 which were more clear than our sat Nav. On arrival the site was easy to miss with only a small sign but taking it steady down Grange road we found the entrance OK, we saw several units miss the entrance whilst on our stay so my advice is as soon as you pass the Pick your own fruit farm slow down and you should find the entrance OK. We booked in with a very friendly welcome from the lady I spoke to on the phone whilst booking who was the site owner Stella. Stella jumped on her bike and showed us to our pitch which was a very generous size, we only have a small caravan and booked a small pitch but the area and room was excellent. Plenty of room to back the van onto the pitch with easy connection to Electricity and Water. You also have your own Water wast drain. The Toilet and shower block were always spotless with free showers which were very good and always Hot even though the site was busy. The simple things like clean Toilets and showers was very high on the owners list as the standards were high the 4 days we stayed. The location is excellent for Southampton City center, 10 mins by car or you could catch the bus, 5 minute walk to Bus stop. There was 2 Pubs serving food 10 minute walk from the site, the Roll call we found was the best which served good pub food with plenty of drinks choice. It was nice to note that the local people were very friendly as was the Landlord. There was a pub going towards Nettly but there was no footpath over the Railway bridge so take care at Night as the traffic travels fast down here. The pub as a Wacky wear house for kids but we were Kid free so avoided this but there is another pub in Nettly which was also very good and had food. Stella and Bill were very helpful and as we were attending a Funeral in Southampton gave us excellent direction to where we needed to be. A very clean, spacious site with massive camping fields which we found was well run in a location we would never had visited if not for the circumstances but found a lovely part of England.

Just returned from a family camp, 3 units comprising 1 non EHU, one trailer tent with EHU and 1 tent with EHU. Cant fault it for a more organised site than the ones that we usually use. Not much for the kids to do, however that suited us down to the ground. Clean tidy and well set out. Our other son hired one of the sites permanent caravans and he said that he too was really impressed. Friendly staff who were really helpful.
Lots to see locally, Victoria park, Solent walks marina and lots of boating themed things to see. Do go to see the Brickworks museum in Burseldon. It is a splendid working style museum with mini trains café and lots to see and do, all for £6. 50 for adults. Do not however use the local Fayre and square pub as it is appalling. Just saying!

Used this site as a one night stop-over on our return ferry from Le Havre to Portsmouth. We booked via the phone whilst still in France, and as we were coming in on a late ferry, were allocated the late arrivals area. This turned out to be a lay-by at the side of the road around the site, located next to a busy main road just outside the perimeter fence. Hence, we were aware of traffic noise late into the night, and the early morning. As the site was quite empty, we wondered why we hadn't been told to use a pitch, as there was plenty of spaces for our twin axle tourer, pretty much anywhere on the site. Nevertheless, we had no trouble hooking up, were very close to the amenities block, and exiting the site was very easy from this 'pitch'. The ladies areas were clean and presentable. However, my husband described the men's toilets as disgusting, due to faeces being present not only in the toilets, but around a couple of them. He also said the showers weren't particularly clean.
We weren't staying long enough to experience anything else in relation to site or the surrounding area's, but the road noise, and the general 'feel' of the site did nothing to encourage us to loiter there. Even had we wanted to, they expect you to be off by 11am. It served a purpose as an over night stop, as it was not far from the port, and was easy to find, but we would not otherwise return. It seemed quite expensive for what was a very short stay.

Staying at Sunnydale farm in May (2015) was my 3rd visit. As previously, I’d a very happy 4 week stay there in October 2009 and a further 2 weeks in January 2012. Looking at the review left in 2009 I find that all the wonderful bits remain the same, i. E.
'Stella was very friendly and helpful. The site is flat and plots are well spaced out, it looks lovely when you drive in, it is beautifully kept regarding mowing and tidiness and the electric posts stay lit up over night so you are not flailing around blindly if you return after dark.
It is extremely conveniently placed for an all night Tesco and for Southampton itself ( Mayflower theatre 15 mins drive away ) '
But also, since 2009, the reception office, spotless new shower block (so cosy and warm ) laundry and washing up areas have been completed and they are excellent, everything you could need on a site.
The website directions are 100% trustworthy, the site is easily accessible and the fully serviced pitches make day to day living very easy.
Nowadays the gates are closed at night, so if you arrive later in the evening your car can be left in the parking area opposite the office, so this really give visitors peace of mind.
So, once again, I will definitely return to this site when I next need to be in Southampton and meanwhile take away happy memories of each of my stays and will always remember how kind Stella was on the day my dog was put down in 2012.

We have just returned from a very nice bank holiday break at Sunnydale and found it very good. We had a serviced pitch which in our case just means an electric hook up. There was plenty of level space and the shower and toilet facilities were well looked after; the only caveat is that there is only one ablution block and it is quite a long way from the furthest pitches in the second large camping field, some people felt they needed to drive to the toilets.
There were no special facilities for children but lots of space and no traffic meant that our children had a marvelous time playing with lots of new friends.
