I love this site. You very much get what you pay for, but it has everything you need.
The shop is well stocked and interesting with farm and riding supplies.
My husband and children love the fishing and have caught some large carp
The site is flat and fairly organised, although in busy times can be a long walk to the loo.
Excellent walks over the hills, close to corfe castle and the steam train to swanage
Also, there is hardly any light pollution so good for star gazing and I saw my first shooting star here

Good site with plenty of space. 3 large fields gives the impression of being a big site, but pitches are pretty spacious. Hook ups are available, but you need to make sure you book these. The site is quiet and although close to a main road, far enough away not to hear the noise of cars.
Wash areas seemed to be a little small - often a queue to wash up and the toilet block tended to be quite dirty and smelly by the end of the day. There were however plenty of showers available, but these too seemed a little overrun at peak time. The washing machines seemed to frequently break - we had plenty of problems with them - but the staff were helpful and friendly and didn't charge for additional tokens when the machines went wrong.
Fantastic shop, really well stocked with a really wide range of items. The shop also managed the freezing and loaning of freezer blocks for a nominal fee and a refundable deposit.
Location was outstanding for the Isle of Purbeck. We walked to Corfe Castle and you can also walk to the railway station at Norden to catch the steam trains into Swanage.
The site is on a working farm, so there were some interesting, but unobtrusive smells around. There was a pets corner for the kids to go and look at some of the other smaller farm animals.
Overall this was a pleasant enough site that would be improved with more thorough and regular toilet block cleaning.

The position of this campsite is good, but we booked on last years booking form and the cost of our unit went from £15. 50 to £22. 00 a night, a fact that we did not notice until too late. The facilities were kept reasonably clean apart from the floors, more mats to wipe your feet would be a good idea. Dogs allowed to run around the site without leads and children (and adults) kicking footballs etc. , with no restrictions could be annoying. Overall not overly impressed though it could be mainly down to it being peak season.

Just returned from a very enjoyable weeks stay at this site (Main Field) and the surrounding area.
Positive points - well positioned for exploring area, well signposted throughout, clean facilities, kids loved the farm animals, excellent shop, handy B&B with restaurant (though not tested personally).
Negative - Main Field is huge and exposed, felt like there were many more pitches than the 92 stated and had a 'messy' feel as folk can pitch wherever.
A large group arrived on the 7th night of our stay, and this was the only time the 10. 30pm quiet time was breached. Otherwise despite the density of tents this rule was maintained 100%. We reported this to the Reception and received a very satisfactory response which was pleasing.
The Purbeck area has lots on offer and we really enjoyed it, so many highlights which included the walk to Corfe and the Castle, Studland bay, Brownsea Island (with the view to Sandbanks!), fabulous meals at The Castle Inn (Corfe) and The New Inn (Church Knowle).
Further on there is Kingston Lacy, Monkey World, the swannery at Abbotsbury, Chesil Beach and Portland Bill.
Nearby Wareham has the convenience of a hole-in-the-wall, petrol garage, and Sainsburys.
Would recommend to anyone.

I visited this site the first week of August. The site was full, which meant a lot of tents- it is a big site although split into separate fields.
The pitches with electric hookups looked quite close together, however we in the unserviced 'top field' which is reserved for tents and there are no allocated pitches. Despite the large number of tents there was no problem finding a reasonably flat pitch, with plenty of space still for children to run around.
The site is in a beautiful location very close to Corfe Castle and handy for beaches at Swanage, Studland, Kimmeridge etc. It is also wlaking distance from the Norden Station for the Swanage steam train, which is a lovely trip- the only downside is having to cross the busy A351.
The facilities on the site were good, my children loved the farm animals, especially the calves! They also enjoyed the play area even though it is fairly small. The shop really does stock everything, and the takeaway van on the top field certainly looked good with daily specials such as chilli and shepherds pie as well aas burgers and hot dogs.
The toilet and shower blocks on the top field were busy and generally a bit dirty (although squeegies are provided for people to clean the shower floors after use), but it was a very busy time. The main facilities seemed better and we used the family bathroom a couple of times without having to wait long, also didn't seem to be any problem with misuse of this. It was quite a walk from the top field though!
Despite the huge number of campers noise wasn't a problem at all and everyone seemed to abide by the rules quite happily and the site was quite by 11pm.
I would definitely recommend the site and would go back.

I think I may have possibly gone to a different site Just returned from a terrible few days at Norden Farm.
Full to capacity tents were so jammed together field was flooded and the site was very muddy, ( obviously not the sites fault it rained ) wardens did nothing to alleviate this and saw several cars stuck trying to get through the narrow entrance.
Could do with some Rubber matting at the entrance I know one lady asked if they could at least put some straw down to help alleviate the problem
The toilets and showers were filthy due to the rain and had to queue for both as there were so many people, it was like being at a festival.
As it is a working farm it was a bit smelly. We love this area but will definitely look at another site.

This was our second visit to Norden farm and all I can say is that it was just as wonderful as the first. Facilities are great and always clean, pitches are generous and having the farm areas to keep the little guy entertained (well for half an hour a day at least) is just the ticket. A really top class site, which manages to maintain a great family run feel. Next time we're planning a camping trip to Dorset we'll definitely put Norden Farm at the top of our list.
At £19. 00 per night for a large pitch with hookup I'd thoroughly recommend this site to anyone. Well situated for Poole, Swanage, the Jurassic coast, Monkey World etc.

Just back from five nights at Norden Farm and it is somewhere I know we will go back to - in fact we tried to book for later in the month on the day of departure but they were full.
Great setting and location is superb for Studland, Swanage, Wareham, Lulworth Cove etc. Corfe Castle is an easy 20 minute walk.
The site is on a proper working farm so expect the noises, smells and slightly ramshackle buildings that brings with it. Facilities for campers spot on - although it would be good if the toilet block in the Pond Field also had a point for caravan waste water.
Ate at the Farmhouse / B&B one evening and the food was fine. Nothing amazing but did the job.

This is one of our favourite sites. Easy access off the main road through the farm to a large level site over 4 fields. The site is in an excellent location right next to historic Corfe Castle. A good centre to explore all of Purbeck's many attractions.
Good walking from the site and the purbeck steam railway stops within an easy walk.
The site offers good sized grass pitches. Most pitches have electric available but one field is dedicated to non electric users.
There is a shop on site offering basic groceries, camping supplies and pet shop. A plant & garden supplies area is also on site.
There is an interesting variety of animals to view on the farm including a pet area. Interesting farming antiquities also abound.
2 good modern toilet blocks are provided. These are very well serviced. Also one of the very few (only?) site to provide a dog shower area.
Dogs are welcome and not charged.
The rule that dogs should be on a lead is a rule that needs to be enforced. Probably half the dogs we saw were allowed to walk off the lead. Sometimes alone. Not everyone likes dogs and no one likes dog pooh.
Further improvements to the site have been made since we last visited last autumn and subject to my gripe about dogs this appears to be a well run and welcoming site. We will visit again.

I have just returned from a two night stay at Norden Farm. I had not intended staying at this site but after being disappointed with the state of the pitches at another nearby campsite I decided to look for somewhere else and ended up here. I was not disappointed with the pitches at this site. They were all well maintained and grassy.
The site is divided into several different fields and on booking in it was suggested I might like the 'Donkey Field' where all the pitches are electric.
It turned out that perhaps that was not the best choice for me since the pitches were rather close together and (not the fault of the site) there were some noisy campers in that field, in particular a child which screamed for hours on end and until after midnight on the first night and a person who thought the rest of the site would like to hear his choice of music.
This field is also right next to the farm buildings housing cockerels, geese, turkeys, peacocks and other loud voiced animals all of which joined in with the dawn chorus at first light, which at this time of year was very early.
Add this to the hum of traffic on the nearby main road (which was probably due to the direction of the wind) and this turned out to be one of the noisiest camping trips I have been on.
If I were to return I would probably use the main field which is somewhat further away from the farm buildings and more open, but if electricity is not required and a peaceful night is, I would suggest the top field which looked very spacious and quiet.
Despite the noise this was a very nice site on the whole. The staff were friendly and helpful and the facilities were second to none. They had a rather unusual set up in that the toilets were in a separate room to the showers and wash basins which meant one had to go back outside after using the loos and in through another door to have a wash or shower but this was not a huge problem. They were certainly kept very clean and tidy.
This is a nice site for small children with lots of animals to see and a small play area. I didn't see anywhere for ball games but there may well be somewhere. There is a small takeaway on site which is not always open and I wasn't too impressed with the chicken and chips but the shop has pretty well everything one could need both in food and camping gear.
There is a pleasant and easy off-road 20 minute walk into Corfe Castle which is a lovely village with shops, a post office, model village and pubs. Norden has a train station for the Swanage Steam Railway, as does Corfe Castle and at the time of my visit the adult return fare to Swanage was £10. 50.
This is a very nice area and I have always liked Swanage and the Purbecks. I would certainly use the site again but may invest in some earplugs.
