 We have just come back from a weeks camping with our two year old son at Norden. We loved it! The site is on a working dairy farm, which is quite central to the towns of Swanage and Wareham. There are plenty of beaches close by, and lots of attractions everywhere. The site is very close to the beautiful Corfe castle, and the castle is well worth going to have a look around, if only for the view.
On the camp site there are three main fields, we were in the Donkey field, which obviously has the donkeys, and also some fantastic pigs, and I believe most pitches have electrical hookup if required.
The cows are brought in for milking twice a day, and you can go and see the cows and sheep in the inside sheds, they also have a little petting zoo, with pigs, goats, rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens, ducks etc. There are also donkeys and horses on site which you can visit. Dogs are welcome if kept on a lead, and the dog shower is fantastic, warm water, and waist height, so no bending and getting wet.
The shop on site is exceptionally well stocked, very reasonably priced, and has lovely fresh rolls every day, they also have a great garden and pet food shop which sells useful things that you always forget (like a lead spike for the dog), and plenty of dog treats too.
There is also a B& B onsite which has a restaurant which unfortunately for us was closed, as we would have had a few meals there.
The laundry room is very well equipped with two large washers and seperate dryers, which takes tokens available from the shop, as well as an ironing board and iron, which was free to use.
The toilets and shower blocks are spotlessly clean and tidy, with large shower cubicles, and something we particulary liked, a family wash room, with a small bath, shower and toilet in one room. Great for the kids.
The kids play area has a couple of swings and a large slide and is by the washing up area so you can keep an eye on them.
We visited Studland middle beach which is lovely and sandy, and has a cafe, and beach shop. We also went to Lulworth cove, which is pebbly, but very pretty, and a great place to chill out. We had great weather, so didn't do any of the rainy day stuff. The greyhound pub in Corfe did very nice food, and the staff were great, really helpful and friendly. We had a fantastic time, and would definitely go back.
Speaking to a lady who had been going to the farm for about eighteen years, she said that it is exceptionally busy in July / August, and there can be huge queues for the showers,loos etc, but as we would not go in school hols, (yet) it wouldn't be an issue for us.
Loved the site, loved the surrounding areas, but it is a working farm, so can get a little farmyard fragrant at times, but that is part of the charm.

I loved this site and we will definitely be revisiting.
We stayed for 7 nights with 2 adults and 2 children.
We were in the donkey field with EHU and I liked the fact that the seperate fields made it seem like a smaller site - even though it is actually a rather large site when you add all the fields together! I also liked the way the pitches were set around the edges in the donkey field so that there was plenty of room for the kids to play.
We were near the main facilities block and they were the best facilities I've ever seen at a campsite. The toilets were always clean - even over bank holiday weekend and during the rain and mud later in the week. The showers were plentiful and always had hot water and were easy to use. There was plenty of room to get changed in the shower cubicle and plenty of shelf/hooks to put clothing on. The wash cubicles were nice and spacious too and the family bathroom was fantastic.
The dog shower came in very useful too!
There was often a queue for the washing up sinks in the mornings but it was school holidays and they were still always clean whenever I used them.
The pet corner was lovely, the donkeys were adored by the children and the staff were always nice and friendly. The shop was very well stocked for campers.
The kids play area was quite small but it seemed to keep them amused so can't have been to bad - and it was directly opposite the washing up sinks and the laundry room which came in useful for keeping an eye on them.
The toilets near the top field in the older block weren't quite so nice - but then they were a lot further away for us so we always used the newer ones.
Corfe castle itself is a lovely village and the bakery there sells gorgeous food! Studland beach is onl a short drive away - as is Swanage and we spent good days at both of them. Monkey world is only a short distance away as is the tank museum.
The only thing that I didn't like about the whole site was the fact that dogs were asked to be kept under control but some people didn't seem to listen to that part of the rules and nobody said anything to them. The farm dogs I can understand being able to wander about - its their home - but other peoples dogs following me back to my tent got a bit annoying.
All in all we had a really good time at a lovely site and we will be returning when we can face the 7 hour journey again!

Just got home from this site and thought I'd share my experience
Well the weather wasn't good but on arrival I pithed in the 'Top Field' the grass was at least 9ins long but hey I've seen worse. First night the heavens opened up in the morning the field looked like and felt like a swamp! This and the very long walk to the toilet block! 'not one in this field' it was an even further walk to have a shower by the time I returned to my tent I was covered in mud again. Don't think I will return to this site the walk was just too much in these weather conditions.

We just went to this campsite for a weekend. I did choose this particular one because of the good reviews it had. We had a great time. You were able to choose your own pitch and there are several different fields. We had ample space around us and the ground was good. Only mistake we made was picking a spot right under the trees, so we did get things falling on us all the time. There is a new toilet/ shower block which was clean and washing up area is good. This is a working farm so the smell is fresh at times. I would definitely go back, good value for money.

My husband and I stayed at this campsite last year, the week after the easter rush. I must say it was glorious.
I think during the busier periods it can be neglected after all it is a working farm. The farm is cosy, and oldy worldy, with access to animals which the children and myself were fasinated by! There is also donkeys, and a pet corner with goats and chickens and guinea pigs etc.
We stayed in Pond Field which was the furthest away from the entrance and shower block, but only a 2minute walk.
There was also a small toilet and washing up area in the pond field, but is like a shack.
The main block however is luxury for a campsite and was always clean everytime I went in, I am an early riser and never queued for the shower or toilet. There is a small pond in which you can fish, although keep an eye on the children in this area. The views are stunning and its nice because you can plonk yourself anywhere which was nice. I felt very safe and the shop was very helpful.

I have to say it's all positive about Norden Farm. We've been coming here for 4 years now as a group in tents and caravans and its easily one of the best sites we use in the country. We travel round about twelve different sites each year and will always come back here. The facilities are excellent and the people running the site are more than welcoming. Being a working farm as well, gives it a really welcome twist with plenty to see and do just on the site. The surrounding area is second to none in the uk ' beautiful', definitely a must.

We love this site. Been coming here for years now. Started off in a tent, then touring caravan and now we will be in a motorhome. Yes, its not the swishest, cleanest campsite in the world, but that's what we like about it. Not everyone wants regimented, beautifully manicured campsites. Malcolm and his team are so welcoming and friendly.
On one visit, when my husband was ill the whole time, I spent every day on site, watching the calves being born; chatting with everyone; even doing a stint in the milking parlour! We live less than half an hour away, but its a different world over here in the Purbecks. A moonlit walk over the hill to Corfe is fantastic. It is a working farm site, not a CC one! Relax and enjoy! We do!

Have just spent 4 days at this site after the August Bank holiday. Site is ideally situated for exploring the local area, either on foot or by car. We stayed in the Pond field which has electric hook ups but a small toilet block with washing up facilities that back on to the pond where you can fish. The farm does appear quite run down but I suppose most working farms are! We enjoyed our week exploring this beautiful area in lovely sunny weather. However, we would not visit the site again as it was larger in terms of number of campers than we expected. The toilet block in the Pond field was dirty most of the time and toilets were frequently blocked, not flushing etc. I think in view of the numbers on this site, these toilets are inadequate and a new shower block is required. During periods of high volume, cleaning may be required twice a day. If I had small children with me I would be concerned about the lack of signs warning of the pond. Children love the freedom of caravan sites but at first glance the pond is not obvious to parents on arrival concerned about unpacking and making a cup of tea. There are also large amounts of rusting farm equipment lying around, just taped off, but insufficiently so for curious youngsters. The childrens play area is small and dated, near to the entrance ,with cars and tractors coming and going all the time. The worst thing about this site was the constantly overflowing bins. I know they were emptied daily, but this was clearly not enough. The bin stations are poor and need updating and emptying more frequently as this does not create a good impression on arrival. To conclude, this site is in an excellent situation, but needs to invest in better facilities to ensure return visitis and recommendations.

We used this site for the first time during what was probably the worst week for weather. We arrived on the 12th and the forecast was horrendous! Overnight, there was filthy weather which caused damage to some camper's equipment - three cars left during the night, their terminally damaged tents piled in the rubbish bins. Despite the conditions, we found the site level and the staff both friendly and helpful, being particularly aware of the plight of many. The cattle kept us entertained by giving birth to several Fresian calves during our stay of 5 nights. We used the "Pond Field" and found previous criticisms unfounded, although the families in the "Top Field" were having to put up with most unseasonal conditions, which they did with patience and forebearing. The on-site shop is well stocked and the new washing/shower facilities are excellent. There are plans to build another new unit in the "Pond Field" in the not too distant future. We will use this site again, hopefully during better weather!

Stayed at Norden Farm in a party of 4 adults for 3 nights this August. We have to say that having read the reviews for this site, we were really disappointed. The setting for the site was beautiful, a ten minute walk from Corfe Castle and the Swanage railway which was great. The site was very busy and we stayed in 'Pond Field' (the layout can be seen in earlier reviews). We felt squashed! We had hook up for our stay, not only were tents on top of us from the left and right, they were also immediately behind us and at night, camper vans were told to park in front of us, this meant that there were people 3 or 4 deep on a grassed area around 15m wide. Needless to say there was no privacy at all. Luckily, we were near the loo's in this field, (there are no showers). These served the whole of the top fields, there must have been around 500 people using the 3 sinks and 4 toilets. It became annoying when you had queued to do your washing up and there wasn't any hot water. The toilets were OK but due to the weather they were not very clean (which we accept is unavoidable). The toilets and showers near to reception were newer and much better. The shop was great and the staff seemed friendly enough, we were shown to our pitches by a lady on a quad bike.
We really think that this site has amazing potential and it is lovely staying near to the farm but, unfortunately 'potential' is the word here. We'll never say never but, we won't be rushing back!
