Norden Farm is located on the road from Wareham to Corfe Castle. It is a working farm and on arrival you pass the farm house and pull up at the site office which is located next to animal pens and has a distinct farmyard aroma. But bear with it, things are about to get better. The staff very friendly and helpful and a quick browse of the shop shows it well stocked and not badly priced. You are shown to your pitch by a chap on a quadbike so no worries over getting lost. The site is set over several named fields Eg Donkey field, Pond Field etc. Most pitches are marked out and have EHU except the far field where there is no power but you can pitch where you like and there is bags of space. The site is in a valley with woods on either side and unspoiled views to the end of the valley. The main amenity block is first class. Recently built with plenty of showers, clean toilets, a family bath room, laundry and washing up room (even a pet bathing room !) There is another toilet block in Pond field halfway up the site but it has seen better days. Its a wooden affair with wooden partitions and a few stalls. It is cleaned in the morning but the mud does get traipsed through and can look poor later. It has a lean-to on one side with 3 washing up sinks. They are a bit rickety but there always seemed to be hot water available. On a positive note, there is a notice acknowledging the condition and promising it was to be replaced during the next year. We had no problem using it for washing up and a morning loo visit but that said, its only a few minutes walk to the main block and shop. There is a small children's playground next to the main block and a pets corner with lots of farm animals. There is also B&B in the farmhouse and a small area with plants for sale. There is fishing available at the two ponds on site, which seemed well used.
There is no clubhouse so its a nice quiet site with no late night noise but it is Dorset so there is bags of stuff to do locally. Weymouth is about 40 minutes away, Monkey World, Bovington tank museum, Swanage, Studland bay and Lulworth cove are about 25 minutes away. Corfe Castle is a mile away and there are walks from the site through the woods to the castle.
The Swanage Steam railway runs from just across the road from the site and is great for a day trip to Swanage. There are a few nice pubs, esp the one on the main road towards Wareham about five minutes from site. All in all a quiet clean site in a pretty setting. Highly recommended and well worth a visit.

We loved this site! It felt like the farms I camped on as a child- a real working farm with a relaxed atmosphere. We camped on the top field which had fantastic views over the beautiful landscape. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially the ladies in the brilliant little shop. The site is in an excellent location for visiting the Isle of Purbeck's many attractions- the Swanage Park and Ride train is just a few minutes walk away. The new shower block, near the cowsheds and caravans is superb-very clean and you can use as much water as you. There are free hairdriers too. The older toilet block was basic but I was told by a 'regular' that it was being replaced for 2009. Excellent news as we plan to go back. If you need a clubhouse, arcades and so on, then avoid this site. If you want a share of Dorset magic, then this could be the site for you!

One of my favourite sites;
If you like club houses, well kept gardens and hedgerows, easy access to arcades and chip shops you will hate it. If you like peace and quiet, beautiful views and ample country walks, tea rooms and village pubs you will love it!
Dog friendly, has its own dog shower!
Great country walks in all directions. We walked south to coast and another day to Swanage.
Nice off road walk into Corfe (1mile) for pubs and national trust tea rooms.
Shower block at entrance is quite new and superb.
Site is working farm so more interesting than many sites.
Lovely beeches at Swanage and Studland.
The Purbeck area in general has a lovely unspoilt feel about it which you just don't get further up the Jurassic coast. Dont forget to take the ferry there from Poole!

The site was full when we stayed, but did not feel overcrowded. We pitched in the Top Field, furthest away from the excellent new toilet and shower block. There's an older block at this end of the site, which is apparently due for replacement - however, even this facility was a lot more pleasant / clean / functional than what can be found on other sites nearby. All was kept clean and bins were emptied regularly. There was no excessive noise and music was turned off appropriately.
There's also a launderette, a small play area and a reasonable shop down by the entrance; the farmhouse does B&B and offers breakfasts and dinners for campers. You can see the farm animals in the barns and yes they do smell agricultural!
It is an easy walk to the railway station; although you have to walk a short distance beside the main road there are very wide verges and it feels safe with children. The steam train takes you into Swanage - you avoid the cost and hassle of parking, but because of rising fuel costs the fares have just gone up - it's not that cheap an option.
By car, we also visited the lovely sandy Studland Beach (National Trust members park free), had a nice day at Monkey World and went to the Dinosaur Museum in Dorchester (less impressive).
Our only gripe was the Great British Weather .
A very good campsite.

Me and my family stayed here for a week and had a fantastic time. We stayed in the top field which was the windiest and the wind did blow but still didnt spoil our stay. All the facilities were good the toilets closest were old but always clean with plenty of loo roll and hot water there was also a dish washing area with water hotter than mine at home. There was plenty of fresh water taps and rubbish bins around the site which were emptied frequently (only full on the day we arrived) The camp shop had everything you could need with very friendly staff and if you didnt feel like cooking there is a really good and fair priced takeaway on site.Fantastic shower block, laundrette, dish washing room and play area. So many things to do and see within 15 miles we are coming back next year

What a great place! Our first time camping with the kids (6 yrs & 4 yrs) and we loved it. We stayed on the top field with no electrical hookup as we didn't see a need for electric. The staff are friendly and the amenities are very good. The shower block is quite new and well equipped. There is a family room with Shower, Bath, Sink, Toilet, great for those with young kiddies! The shop is well stocked with everything you need and is very reasonable. A beautiful setting. It is a working farm so those country smells are present when you are around the immediate area but you couldn't smell much when you are on the top field at all. The great thing about this is the kids love seeing the farm animals. The site is near the Steam railway which goes down to Swanage. Not a long ride but if you like steam trains. It was rather windy and rainy while we were there which made us decide to leave a couple days early. A bit muddy at times but not unbearable. The site gave us a refund for the days we did not stay even though it was not their fault about the weather! They asked if everything with site was OK which we confirmed. We will definitely go back. Highly recommended!

This was our second ever camping holiday and was for 3 nights.
After checking in we were shown to our pitch by a lady on a quad bike which was a novelty for us.
We were at the bottom of the top field with EHU and a lovely view. Our pitch was level and it looked like most of the others around us were also reasonably flat.
The toilet block nearest to us was very basic but adequate and with a notice up saying this was soon to be rebuilt. As we haven't been back yet I don't know if this is the case as yet. However the modern toilet block was excellent and we had to walk down to this one to have a shower. The water was hot when I used it and the block was well designed with a central unisex area. Although busy I didn't have to wait to use any of these facilities whenever I needed them.
The play area was also quite small and looked tired and dated but the children seemed to be enjoying themselves on it nonetheless.
Corfe Castle is within walking distance of this site so we enjoyed a walk into the village. We also went on the steam train to Swanage and had a lovely day out. Again Norden station is within easy walking distance but you have to be careful crossing over the busy road to get to it.
The Purbecks are a beautiful place to explore and this site is ideally situated as a base to enjoy this part of Dorset.
This is a working dairy farm so is naturally smelly and as urbanites we were very conscious of the country aromas but this is part of country life and as such no obstacle to staying here.
We enjoyed our stay here and will be happy to visit again sometime soon.

This was our 3rd time at camping. When we arrived we were told to pitch in the top field. We could pitch where we liked in the field and we were told it was a little boggy and it was!. It was raining 3 of the 4 days we were there (maybe some gravel or something would have made it better. The grass was all churned up by all the cars on the entry to the field. Everywhere else on the site was better with gravelly roads) The new toilet / shower block was lovely although only one hair dryer in the ladies part of the showers really was not enough for the number of people on site. There was even a special pooch shower for the dogs. The toilet block nearer to us was not so nice but it was clean and there was a notice up telling people that it was due to be re built hopefully in time for next season. I hope they plan to put in some more shower blocks there. The children really liked it on the farm especially when the cows were being taken for milking. We will definitely be back next year. The shop was very good on site with most things that we needed and not too expensive. We visited Corfe castle and we went on the steam railway to Swanage which was lovely for the children and great for us as we could take our dog. We always find it difficult when we have the dog finding dog friendly attractions. In short this is the best of the 3 campsites that we have been too and was excellent value for money.

This was our second visit to Norden farm and despite the poor weather we had a great time.
We pitched in the top field which is where the majority of tents are - no EHC - you choose where you go, some parts are on small slope.
The toilets in this field are quite old, there are 3 sinks for a quick wash / teeth clean and there is a washing up area too - I noted that there was a sign saying they hope to modernise this block for next year.
The modern block is a few minutes walk away and is fantastic - adequate number of showers and there was always hot water and never a queue despite the site being busy. There are also private sinks to wash in and a hair dryer.
Good shop, lots for the kids to do - animals, playground, fishing pond.
Staff great - we had to leave early as it would not stop raining and we got a full refund for the nights we had not used even though we missed the 10am deadline for notifying them.
The area is lovely and the walk to Corfe Castle is a must. Also the steam train to Swanage is worth a go - then get fish and chips and do some crabbing!
Will definitely go back again - top marks to Norden Farm, it is great site.

We have been coming to this site for around 10 years now and enjoy every visit. We have had a variety of weather over the years but still enjoy the break.
The staff are all lovely and will do what ever they can to help.
The shop is well stocked and very reasonable often you find items cheaper there than in the supermarket.
We really like the garden centre and the garden ornaments, again they are reasonably priced.
Our son enjoys the fishing, he never bought his rod this time but he enjoyed watching others and chatting to them in the evening.
Our daughter made many friends at the park and you could always hear laughter coming from there.
The site is very big and we always choose to stay in the donkey field and are lucky enough to be able to choose our pitch before hand.
The shower block is a huge improvement. As one of us is disabled the disabled shower is perfect and so far have not had to wait to use it. The main showers are great and so far we have always had plenty of hot water, not like the old ones when you had to wait and then the water was cold and not very clean inside. In time we do think that another block will have to be put in up in the pond field as the site is very big.
The working farm scene is great, there are many animals from rabbits, guinea pigs, goats, peacocks, a very old well loved pig, chickens and cows. The new pooch parlour is wonderful for those who have dogs, many people bring there dogs and all seem to behave and most people do pick up the dog mess, although there were a couple of them who never. That is our only grumble about the site is there was dog mess around and some people had trod in it.
We aim to visit this site for many years to come
The prices to stay here are very good, they are still the same at the moment as they were in 2004. We usually visit 3 times a year.
