August 2004 A very family-friendly site with wonderful views over the Bay. Nice clean toilet block and no unreasonable rules!
Very reasonably priced at £3 per person/night, although you can only book for a minimum of two nights. We only stopped for one night but paying £12 for such a lovely weekend away (with fantastic weather) seemed excellent value anyway.
We shall certainly be returning to this site, hopefully later this year.

July 2004 We found Bay Ness Farm through this web site. It is the first time we have used the web to book a site as we usually use Camping and Caravan Club CL sites.
I was a bit apprehensive as to whether the pictures of the site would live up to what they portrayed but I have to say that the site proved to be every thing we could have wished for.
We met Claire and Mike and found them extremely friendly and were reassured that if we had any queries or problems that we should knock on their door.
Even though they are still developing the site we found the toilet and shower facilities exceptionally clean and welcoming.
The unbroken views of the sea on three sides were just breathtaking. We took full advantage of the old rail track to cycle into Whitby and surrounding areas and the stroll into Robin Hoods Bay in the evenings for a pint or five, took less than 20 minutes (but a little longer coming back).
We only managed four days but will certainly go back for longer next time.

July / August 2004 I have just returned from a two night camping trip at Bay Ness Farm.
This is in an excellent location, high above the North Yorkshire coast of which you get an excellent view and about a 20 minute walk to Robin Hoods Bay.
When we arrived we were walked around the site by the friendly owner to show us the amenities.
Because of where the site is it can be a little windy but it wasn't a problem to us and we pitched our tent in the most exposed location for the best view.
This is a good honest, quiet site owned by nice people in an excellent location. It may not be to everyone’s liking because it's basic, it has no club or shop but sometimes less is definitely more!!
If you want a relaxing time in a friendly place I can not recommend a better site.

July 2004 For views, walks and cycling this site is stunning. It is remote up a long farm track, but well worth the drive. Facilities are good with more planned but nothing really looks finished. This site is well suited to tents but not so good for for motorhomes as the fields are quite un-even and slope. Electric hook ups are available at a very reasonable charge. The walk to Whitby is a challenge and Robin Hoods Bay is not to be missed. The BIG downside for us was campfires, which the site allows. Caravans, tourers and tents all share the same areas, and having a large campfire lit, late on a dry summer night, with petrol, within 30 feet of my motorhome, full of diesel and gaz, is not safe. Going to bed with a van full of smoke not knowing whether it has been damped down is not relaxing.

August 2003 The views from this small and friendly site are phenomenal. You need to book. The facilities are really comfortable (farmhouse kitchen to wash up in, and bathroom to shower in!!). Owners really friendly and talked about how they will be developing the site. Apparently at weekends it is used by off road vehicle afficionados and is busier than when we were there. Recycling system for rubbish. The site is a bit exposed, but then you don't get views with shelter!

august 2003 a brilliant site , off the beaten track, quiet and peaceful, owners very friendly and helpful , would be hard pushed to get better views(scenery) on any other camp site , is also cheap , cost us £3 a night for the tent , thats the tent , not per person !!will be going back there , thats for sure
