I visited Bay Ness Farm for the weekend with my husband, 2 sons and dogs. The views are amazing and the site is perfect for anyone wanting a quiet site. Just a shower block, toilets and washing up areas. Showers really clean and plenty of hot water to be had. The walk into Robin Hood's Bay is really pleasant, although on the way back up the hill I could have done with some oxygen!
The Owners is really friendly and helpful despite me telling him my lurchers may try to eat his cats! (Luckily, they didn't) I only wished there had been somewhere to plug hair straighteners in, I looked a fright for the whole weekend! Can't wait to go back!

We have just returned from our two night stay at bay ness farm, this is a lovely site with clean showers and toilets and a very friendly owner! It's right what the other reviews say about the track to the farm being bumpy! It's a definite bone shaker and our kids loved it ! The field is on a slope but not enough to be a problem and there was plenty of space and a lovely quiet atmosphere with the most amazing views over robin hoods bay. The walk onto the bay is lovely but not great for unsteady walkers or prams due to first part of track being very uneven and a bit steep. Both days we were there were warm and sunny by day and very windy at night! Don't forget your tent pegs if you're planning a visit! All in all a brilliant few days were had by all and will be returning again next year for sure.

Great Site short walk to the town and a great chippy on the way back. Beautiful views of the coast. Great site for families with small children. Good facilities Only one grip.
Tents were so close together that guy lines were crossing. Can be quite windy due to location on the top of the cliffs. Whitby is close by and is a great place to visit.
Not really explored much of this area will definitely return.

Just returned from a fantastic stay at this campsite. Stunning views, peaceful, This is a great place to get away from it all and relax! Bayness Farm is a lovely, quiet campsite, with lovely views over Robin Hoods Bay. The owner was very kind, he showed us around the site, told us where the facilities were etc. The toilet block is basic but clean, there was always hot water and the showers were free, there are 2 sinks for washing pots as well.
We really enjoyed our stay with our family of 2 children and 4 dogs! We will definitely be back.

What a fantastic site, quiet, peaceful and absolutely stunning views. No fuss, excellent directions and advice from mike and plenty hot water and loo roll. I couldn't have asked for a better site. A big thank you and will certainly be returning here again.
An easy walk to the bay with whitby just 4 miles by car.
I spent two nights here last week and it was everything I was looking for, and I even got excellent directions from the owner.

If your a camping fan this is a must! As some of the other reviews have stated its not for people who want luxury, but for peace and quiet, stunning views and actually very good facilities this is the best camp site we have been to by a long way.
Shower and wash block is very good with 2 washing up sinks and 4 individual shower/sink/toilet blocks, nice and secure and nothing to pay extra for them with always hot water.
Yes the campsite is a bit uneven but that adds to the charm, just take it easy if your in a car and set yourself down and enjoy.
The walk and views to robin hoods bay is excellent down the cinder path.
The owner even came round to make sure everything was ok.
An all round excellent site if your in a tent and want the peace and quiet.
My only negative is a really small one and that is the path to get there is very uneven so take it steady if your not driving a 4x4, but when you get there believe me its all worthwile.

Just returned from 3 nights camping at Bay Ness. Firstly the location was perfect especially if you want to explore both Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay. We walked to both taking the coastal route to Whitby which was a great walk and took around 3 hours and Robins Hoods Bay around 20 minutes.
The campsite itself was ideal with showers that were hot all day. It was pretty full when we were camping but rarely had to wait for toilets / showers. Plenty of taps on site with drinking water and most importantly the site had great views.
I would recommend this site to anyone who wants a good campsite. The owners are great who once you have checked in with them and they have advised where everything is leave you to choose your own plot and leave you too it for the duration of your stay. They are very helpful if you require any help with directions.
A good campsite which I will be visiting again in the near future.

Me and my partner have just returned from our 2 nights stay at Bay Ness farm.
We can honestly say that this campsite is a beauty! As previous reviews have stated this may not be your style if you are wanting a luxurious camping experience, but for what it lacks in mod-cons it sure makes up in natural beauty!
The campsite is a quiet and unspoilt retreat. I wouldn't recommend this site for families or those who like there home comforts. However if you are happy with the basics (showers, toilets, wash-up area etc) then you MUST VISIT!
I can honestly say I have never ever stayed in such a naturally beautiful place, in my whole camping experience.
For the price we paid per night we can not complain and we will definitely be going back again! We can't wait!

This campsite is basic. Long grass fields gently sloping though it is possible to find a relatively flat area. It is quiet and spacious with nice views.
The toilet block is unisex with 4 wet rooms; shower, sink and toilet. Problematic in the morning if people are having leisurely showers, and a queue of crosslegged folk did develop.
The track to the site is narrow, only a couple of passing places and is very bumpy, wouldn't have liked to do it with a caravan.
Depends what you want from a site, but not for me.

We have just returned from Four nights at Bay Ness Farm. Yes the views are wonderful! But the site could do with a lot more looking after. The grass is long, and still had the loose dead grass from when it was last cut lying on top of long grass and to cap it all squashed dog dirt!. You cannot see the uneven ground below the surface, the caravan took a lot of levelling up. The price of £19 a night for a tourer within awning was excessive.
