Just returned home from Appletreewick refreshed and ready for another camping trip. The site is clean and tidy and set in a beautiful location.
Although the campsite was busy the atmosphere was relaxed and the people on site were friendly. The toilet facilities were spotless and there was even a dressing table and plug socket for my hair straightners!
It's just 5 minutes drive or 15 minutes walk to the Red Lion at Burnsell where we had an unbelievable smoked haddock and poached egg starter which was a nice surprise.
I forgot to pack my bed inflater but was pleased to find the camping shop on site which sorted out my problem at a reasonable price.
Definately worth a visit.

Just returned from a visit to Mason's Campsite. We love going here what a fantastic location for a camp site, the views are amazing. The new owners are so friendly and enthusiastic and couldn't do enough to help us.
We have visited here in previous years before it was taken over and I must say there has been a massive improvement to the facilities they were so clean.
The staff make regular checks to make sure there is enough toilet roll etc. There are some cool pictures around which makes it feel really relaxed and friendly and there is even really nice handwash in the toilets!(How often do you see that at campsites)
They have a little shop where you can buy things like disposable bbq's sleeping bags, airbeds etc. I was really grateful because when I blew my airbed up it had a hole in it!
We had a lovely walk along the river to the Red Lion at Burnsell and it only took 15 minutes. There are 2 other pubs just 2 minutes walk away that serve lovely food too.
We can't wait to come back in August lets just hope the weather holds out!

Just returned from a fantastic weekend up at Masons campsite ATW. My family and I have been coming up to to the site for many years. Its still as beautiful and relaxed as ever.
Recently been taken over by a young and friendly couple. They have really transformed the facilities. Giving it a really vibrant atmosphere. Love the pictures in the wash room!
Would recommend to all. From families to couples.
Two very good pubs up the road. Good Yorkshire Pub Food and a great wide variety of beers. Book in advance because they are always in demand. But its worth the wait.
All the best to the new owners Georgie and Grant your definitely on the right road.
See you in summer.

I visit Mason's Campsite last year and could not wait to get back there this year. The campsite is situated in an amazing location within walking distance of all you need when camping.
When arriving at the campsite I was greeted by a young enthusiastic new owner who was very helpful and informative about the site and the area around it.
After pitching my tent down by the river I went back to the shower and toilet block which had been refurbished to a nice standard with some lovely pictures in there of camping scenes.
I had a great weekend there and would definitely recommend a visit to anyone who has not been before or not been this year.
One definitely not to miss!

We've just returned from one of our best camping holidays ever! The kids would not come out of the river - even when it was raining! I only wished we lived closer so we could visit on a weekend.
Facilities were spotless (even posh soap in the toilets) and the staff could not have been more welcoming and helpful.
Great Site Well Worth the Visit, We WILL be BACK.

Unable to agree with all the previous comments. Whilst I agree the site is situated in a beautiful part of the Dales, the walks are outstanding and both pubs friendly and serving tasty meals. The site itself had 4 out of the 5 working unisex showers giving out very low pressure, cold water 6 of our 7 mornings. The toilets and showers needed to be cleaned more often, although this could have been because of the very high number of tents and caravans using the limited facilities during the school holiday week. Average 21 caravans and 59 tents. The owners did not seem to be too concerned when a number of campers complained either. Pity, could be an enjoyable place to stay.

This was our second visit to this site. Our children loved to play on the river bank, although the site was so full that there wasn't so much space to play ball games, at least over the weekend.
There is no doubt that the location of this site is its greatest asset. It is really a beautiful spot, and very central for visiting.
Our gripe was that the prices didn't reflect the standard of the facilities. There were 5 (unisex) showers available for the entire site, and one of these was out of order. During our 6 night stay the showers were cold on 4 occasions. While I appreciated that the new owners made every effort to have the problem fixed, their idea of compensation was 20 pence!
Since we had paid £22 per night for our stay, this was not value for money at all, especially for the days when the showers were cold, and the Caravan Club site at Grassington would only have cost another £2. In addition to this, the bins were overflowing all week.
A disappointing stay.
Great food at the pub up the road, though.

This is a great campsite, totally level and right on the river. The new owners and staff couldn't be more helpful. The facilites are clean and meet all your needs.
There a 2 pubs within a couple of minutes walk, and it is also about 20 minutes walk along a lovely riverside path to Burnsall, which has even more drink / food options, and shop or two.
The site itself has good clean toilets, hot (free) showers & plenty of sinks for washing up. Also a free freezer for your iceblocks.
The whole site is very clean, well maintained and well organised.
If you want great walking with good facilities and good pubs nearby, you'll struggle to beat it.
(There are even free range chickens wandering around one corner of the site)

I have just returned from 4 nights camping at this site. The site was one of the best I have used. The owners were very friendly, the views from the site were tremendous, the facilities were excellent and it was so peaceful. I thought the showers which were free, were the best I have encountered. I will certainly be returning to this site.

I would agree with the last review of this site. It is in a fantastic and unspoilt part of the Yorkshire Dales close to Bolton Abbey and Burnsall (both walkable), and also to two great pubs which both serve excellent food and ales. A few supplies can be bought from the shop in Burnsall although it does have a limited choice.
The campsite itself is quite basic however this is certainly not a bad thing. The facilities were spotless,(although a hand dryer next to the sinks would be a good addition), the showers were free with plenty of hot water and the ground is flat and easy to pitch on.
It is right next to the river which during summer would be a great place to pass the time.
The new owners were extremely helpful and we really enjoyed our three night stay. In the wind and rain! We will be back.
