We had hard standings though this was not a problem as we were only staying two nights so no awnings.

This place is big, very big. Having said that it is also really friendly. All the staff were great.

Check in was friendly and helpful, staff escorted us to our pitch. There appear to be wardens in each field. Staff also drive around the site which is kept very clean indeed (I guess because of the gulls, hence the reason they were not a problem).

The facilities were clean and new, roads excellent, pitches immaculate.

Fishing ponds actually had some fish in them and the shop was a Premier priced pretty close to our local one here.

There are children's play areas dotted in the various fields in the campsite.

We did not try the on site take away, though it looked OK.

The site is within walking distance of Brean Sands and the Brean Pleasure park. A local tackle dealer and very decent caravan shop are within a mile or so if you turn tight out of the site and reception has a few odds and sods (well a few, lots actually).

As usual our fellow campers were friendly and, surprisingly given the size of the site, the only real noise came from the tented area at night and this was not for long. Anyone causing other campers hassle, beware, you will be removed promptly. It happened when were there to a group in a tent and we'd heard that last year someone spotted someone possibly selling/using drugs, they were off in less than an hour.

Only down side was our friends (and a few others) having their tents or awnings burgled during the first night. Our friends car keys were taken and the car gone through though I think it was the contents not the car they were after (at night there is a locked gate across the entrance which is manned). In all the years both our families have been camping this is a first and talking to the police this site is very rarely hit like this. Both on site security and the local police were there in no time.

Next morning the owner turned up in person for a chat and to make sure everything was all right. Lovely lady.

This would not put us off going back, it's just one of those things I guess and we never felt unsafe at all (though night 2 did have a few booby traps and trip wires set up).

A lovely site, we will return.

A lovely spread out site with very friendly staff. We had a hard standing near to a spotless toilet block which was cleaned on a very regular basis. As we have no pets we were on a non dog field but there were plenty of spaces in other fields that allowed dogs.

The only thing I think that would add to the park would be the addition of all service pitches as both being disabled it was hard to fetch water etc. Saying that there were plenty of taps around the park.

Entertainment facilities were just along the road, but there was a nice quality take away at the entrance. A good standard park which was good value for money.

What can I say,... What a beautiful site, excellent hardstanding pitches in the 8 acre field, the best we have seen in our 7 years of campervanning, great clean facilities... Ok it costs 20p to wash your hair in special sinks, 50p for a shower and £1 for a bath but there are plenty of normal washing facilities that are free including your dishwashing water.

Brilliant dog walk, great kids play parks, the shop is well priced as is the take away and cafe and the sea gull pub which is a nice 10 min easy stroll away was more than good, clean and friendly.

We usually use the caravan club site in this location but having just come back from here are already planning our next trip to this site. We could not fault this site at all and would recommend it to anyone and brean leisure park only a short stroll away was excellent for our 3 yr old who loved every minute, would recommend getting the £9.99 wristband for the tots great value for money as buying tokens for the rides will soon mount up to nearly treble this.

I have visited this site 5 times so far within 3 years and cannot fault it. Brilliant location to brean sands,

Free fishing on site, takeaway on site, playground, seagull pub 10min walk away with brilliant entertainment

Spotlessly clean toilet and shower block, level ground for caravans, very good price £13.25 a night for 2 adults 2 children with electric hook up in may.

First camping trip so nothing to compare it to. We borrowed a tent and escaped for the weekend. The site is neat clean and tidy staff friendly and helpful the shower block etc immaculate. Was so impressed we came home and bought a tent returning two weekends later with the children ! There are playgrounds sited around the park but most of the time the children were happy to watch the rabbits that run around the edges of the fields

Normally stay at a CL in Weston but was fully booked and we only wanted somewhere to stay whilst visiting family so booked Northan farm. At £23 for the 2 nights, thought it was very reasonable. When I arrived and saw how big and full the campsite was, I was mortified as I like CL's, but how wrong I was. The checking in was excellent and were shown to our pitch, we also wanted an adjacent pitch for family arriving later with their caravan and were told to park our car on the free pitch. Even though the park was huge, we did not feel that it was busy, pitches were large, excellent toilet block facilities, yes you need 50p for a shower but it did give you ample enough time to enjoy a hot shower. Facilities were always clean when I visited them.

Plenty of play areas which I though were excellent and were locked at night so kids could not hang out. There was also a bigger play area away from the caravans for older kids. Excellent dog walk which was fenced off from the campsite, but beware there is a stream running along side which our dog found to his pleasure and jumped in. Menu looked good for the restaurant and take away but did not use it, had a take away from a Chinese just down the road, (out of campsite and turn right).

As we were not sightseeing, we did not go far, walked to pleasure park and went on beach. Considering this is not my type of campsite, I thought it was excellent and would definitely return again.

What a fantastic site! I haven't been camping since I was little and have nightmare memories of spider infested dingy shower blocks!

This was a spur of the moment decision to take my kids away for a couple of days and I have to say I'm so glad I went here first. The kids loved it they didn't argue once, which is a first!

The actual site was lovely and I felt safe enough to let the kids explore on their bikes (they're never usually out of my sight) around the field we were on. The children's play area was fantastic and thankfully shut at 9.

Staff were very helpful and showed me to my pitch which was a very generous size. I noticed as well that it was not noisy, you could hear some people talking, but it wasn't loud, people were generally quite courteous, same in the mornings as well.

Washing facilities were very clean and spacious, showers were 50 pence but I usually managed to shower both of my boys for 50p. I used the baby facilities for my toddler which were free.

Site shop was surprisingly cheap, I was expecting to get ripped off but prices were very competitive.

I cant believe how cheap it was to stay here as well in August, I think it was about £23 per night, obviously this is height of summer (or not with the weather this year!)

Beach is close by and leisure park is just down the road.

My only gripe would be not necessarily about the site but the amount of dog mess that was around! On some fields I constantly had to watch so my kids didn't fall in any - NOT GOOD. I just wish dog owners would be more responsible!

Over all apart from this VERY pleased and definitely going back!

 ARRIVING & PITCHING:

On arriving the reception staff was very welcoming and friendly. Here we were told to drive towards our field and we would be met by the warden who would show us to our pitches. As we needed 3 pitches and wanted them all together there was a choice of two areas. We chose the one out of the way.

Ground was flat and hardly any boulders in the ground so pegs went straight in.

BATHROOM & TOILETS:

Was very clean and there was always a cleaner about - even at early hours in the morning. What I found very handy was there were separate wash cubicles which you could use if you wanted to have a wach and brush teeth etc. The showers were 50p for about 6-7 mins. Found the section you get undressed/dressed in to be wet so I wore flip flops to keep my feet dry. There is plenty of cubicles so never had to queue.

There is also toddler rooms, which my son and my friends daughter enjoyed using. In here there is a place to bath babies and change them. Also there are baths which cost £1, didn’t use these so can’t comment.

We were in field 3 which was quite a walk away from the toilets, especially for young children that can’t wait too long to run to the loo.

ENTERTAINMENT:

There was no entertainment on site, so found we stayed at our pitch as there was a big party of us. The nearest entertainment is about 20-30 min stroll away.

LAUNDRY AREA:

Used this once but found it quite expensive. 3KG machines were £3 each and the 6KG ones were £6. Dryers were 50p for 10 mins (we put about £1.50 in to completely dry the clothes). We were impressed that they had irons which were 20p for 6 mins. They are strict on the rules in this area, which are no eating and drinking and that goes for small children too. And that you have to stay with your washing, or once the cycle is finished the cleaner will put it into black bags.

SECURITY:

We were given slips to put in the car and on the tent. When going off site and then returning the slip was checked to make sure that you are using the site for camping etc. Also the warden did regular checks around the site, to make sure everything is OK. They even do this right through the night.

First camping trip, so still finding our feet.

DON'T use google directions to get here! directions took us down small countryfied bumpy roads. Came out at right place, however when towing you want to stick to the more major roads.

The site was clean, good setup of park and book in, followed by make your way down to the white vans who will show you to your pitch. Would have been useful if van drivers told campers where nearest water points, toilets and facilities were.

Consider using windbreaks here - quite windy even though inland a little.

Good shop on site, friendly and helpful at reception and repair centre.

We followed the advice previously given and got our chips from the outside takeaway. They did look like bigger packets than those buying from the site chippy.

It is a large site, and at a peak time, we expected it to be busy. A lot of friendly people there, many in their own statics. Some evening noise, but no different to what you probably get at home at pub closing time.

Bins were emptied regularly. Toilets were very clean and tidy. Plenty of space. Showers - 50p, long enough to do the job, after time delay to get ready. Make sure that you put money in the correct slot!

Local area has the average amount of things to do. Cheddar and Wookey are a little drive away. Weston Super Mare was a nice visit out. Get a map, as the windy roads can be a little confusing. Local Hungry Horse pub/restaurant gets busy at a weekend. I was told if it had been raining, it would have been busier with an hours wait to be seated!

Tesco near the M5 junction was worth a visit, to get the necessary produce.

Play areas on park sufficient for children to make friends and have fun. Feel sorry if you are pitched right next to it, as little daytime peace would happen.

Beach goes out for about a mile. Flat and sandy, but wind stops too many from going down there. Weston Super Mare beach seems better, with donkey rides at £2 per 10 min go, and more to see and do.

Would visit again, but as new campers are going to look at other areas.

Fishing lakes are well used - we walked around them one morning.

If you don't like busy campsites, then choose somewhere else. If you don't mind this, then a very good site, well run and kept.

 Toilet and shower block immaculate.

Play area lovely.

The surrounding area- lots of pubs, family entertainment, Brean leisure park (expensive)

Beach clean, Wookey hole and Cheddar Gorge neaby.

The reception team were all lovely and helpful.

Our field (3 No dogs) was fab, right next to the kids play area, a bit of a walk to the toilets and showers.

Very clean site.

We arrived Monday and had a really peaceful few days, then Friday night it was looking more like Glastonbury, and almost sounded like it too!

That is not anything to do with Northam Farm but the selfish campers who rocked up at 10;30pm to set up their tent!

Overall good
