Only stayed one night here, but it's one of the best sites I've been to! Helpful, organised staff, and the two of us paid only £7 for this time of year. Paid twice as much for a lot less elsewhere! Didn't use all facilities but they seemed excellent. Slightly away from the noisy bit, which is good, good night time security too,saw a group told to quieten down within five minutes of starting singing at 11pm.

First time away in our caravan-Easter. Chose Northam Farm as friends were holidaying at the same time and it was close to home for our first trip. Very big site, we were in the No Dog Field. Lovely new shower block, clean and tidy, well maintained, hot water. Kids able to play on their scooters and nearby was a play area with swings etc and another large field where the children went to play footie.
Lots of traffic, at times some cars went a bit too fast for my liking. Food shop on site average, there was a takeaway but we didn't try it.
Nice site, only downside was a group of caravans (obviously all together) had party until gone 1am one evening, people in neighbouring caravans were shouting at them to turn music etc off but to no avail. Think they must have been spoken to as the following evening not a sound.
Brean ok for families - kids loved funfair and walks, bouncy castle on beach. Suppose to be off site by 10am on day of departure but we left when we were ready after lunch - no extra charge. Would go again.

We've been coming for years & will continue to do so. The site has been run by the friendly Scott family for 20+ years,& still has that family touch to it. The reception area is welcoming & the staff friendly you get a welcome pack on arrival & they mark where your pitch is on the map. In the pack there is a brochure on the site & a list of local places to visit, also in the reception area there are loads of other leaflets advertising places of interest.

There is a security presence there over night & there are also regular security checks done around the site by the staff.Every car should display a ticket on the dashboard or windscreen,& these are checked on entering the site at night time. Beware of speeding cars there is a limit on site but not all driviers adhere to it,they should really with all those kids about.

In the busy periods there are marshalls, advising campers where they can pitch their caravan or tent. We always go for the no dog field, this is where the new toilet block is situated, apparently the staff built it themselves in the close season last year (2004) The showers cost 50p which isn't to bad & theres loads of space to dress & wash the kids. Also in this block are 2 baby changing stations with a bath & a hand held shower unit. This was ideal for us as we have an 8 month old.

Some people left it in a mess, but the majority left it clean & as they found it. There are plenty of sinks to have a shave & a wash, but nowhere really to hang that towel, other than on the wet side. The water is always piping hot & in the last few years they have been playing music over the speakers,it sounds like some local radio station (Orchard FM ??)

Each field has a play area for the kids to congregate in & play, the one in the no dog field has the soft spongy flooring. I would not recommend pitching close to it in the summer months as it can be noisy, some of the kids seem to play out there til at least midnight some nights & there back out there in the mornings at 7 o'clock!
The pitches are flat & I don't recall being to close to the neighbours. Each field has a chemical waster point & at least 3/4 water points.

There isn't to much to do on the site, other than relax but there is a figure of 8 large fishing lake, you have to have a current fishing licence to fish it but I have never been asked to produce it.
There are some large carp in there well over 20lb,I've also caught Perch,Roach & Tench. It is very popular in the summer months & it can be difficult to catch, probably because theres so much food put in there by the kids. I was more successful in the later months of the season,I believe in the height of the season that a local fishing shop comes to the site & sells bait but you'll have to speak to reception for more details.

The on site shop is run by the Premier group & sells the usual papers, magazines, bread, milk & more importantly alcohol ! There is no need really to bring it with you as they have the usual off licence deals,8 cans for a 5 etc etc.. Opposite the shop is a cafe & chippy,I've never been in the cafe but the chippy looks to have changed hands in the last couple of years as the food has improved. The downside is the 2 old ladies serving are soooo slow. Camping accessories can be purchased from reception, the usual water carriers pegs, stoves etc..or there is a shop just down the road selling more of a selection.

Brean itself hasn't changed to much over the years, apart from the leisure park, they must have spent a fortune on it & lots of new rides have sprung up.Its worth a visit, you can buy tokens or a 1/2 day wristband, but it ain't cheap,we restrict the kids to one visit per holiday. Theres the usual arcades as well,I haven't counted them but I'd say theres about 4 or 5. Evening entertainment can be found at the Seagull (owned by Northam Farm),The Beachcomber & at few other venues close by.The Beachcomber & Seagull regulary have tribute bands on,these can be found on there respected websites, but to get a seat you have to get there early. The Seagull also has Skysports for those that want to watch some footy & have a beer at the same time.

Across the road from the site is the beach, the top is ideal for kids to play in but certain areas near the sea can be dangerous, some people died in the mud the other year, but there are warnings.

In October every year there is a fortnight of Country & Western music, they all take it very seriously.Even the receptionists at the site dress up as do all the campers, there is C&W music on down at the Seagull & there stall to buy hats & goodies. Also attached to Northam Farm is a caravan sales section, where you can buy new & used caravans. They are one of the main sellers for Ace.Used vans go from £500 upwards,if you wait til the end of the season they knock a fair bit of the new vans we got a £1500 saving on our van. Yep we are no longer campers we are caravaners.

So summing up,Northam Farm is well worth a visit as I recommend it highly & theres plenty to do & see in the Brean area..

Just got back after the bank hoilday weekend, large site with the pitches very close together, fairly noisy but you expect that over the bank holiday, prices seem fair compaired to other sites, open top bus to burnham stops at reception also free bus to cheddar on tuesdays, we took the trip to glastonbury on the tuesday this included an hour on a canal boat plus visit to richs cider farm (free tasting) excellent value for £10
Showers are preset for temperature so you either have very hot or cold, the seagull club house was about 1/2 mile walk from our pitch and was always packed.Good market stalls on sunday and monday, will probably return again this to this site

First time visit to this site although not the first visit to the area. Northam farm was larger than expected but you dont realise the size unless you walk or drive around the whole site. Booked a premium pitch. The extra is well worth it. We were able to fit a large tourer, full awning, 35ft of windbreak and the MPV car on the same pitch. Showers (here is my tip) The new block 50p for 5 or so minutes. The old block 20p for 5 or so minutes. Due to the on/off pull switches the unused time accumulates throughout the day. The wife and 3 children showered for 20p and switched the shower off after 30 minutes. All at 7pm. Then we went off to Brean Leisure park for all the rides and fun of the fair.Takeaway stayed open until midnight. No bar on site but who needs it if you've visited Rich's Cider farm.Wookey hall is well worth the money. (Tip number2) Buy the tickets from the tourist information in Burnham. Its cheaper and when the queues at Wookey stretch across the car park you will get that good feeling being able to walk to the front of the queue.Bliss another 1/2hr saved. We will return

The campsite was of high standard.Toilet and shower facilities were faultless and were cleaned twiced a day. A moan about the charge of 50p for the new shower block, dont mind paying this but it should have been advertised on the official Northam Farm website or made clear in the brochure. There were 4 adult and 3 children in our party and the children really enjoyed themselves, they made friends very quickly. With regards to the electric hook up, there was confusion with what pitch was allocated which hook up and this confusion ended with our friends electric being unplugged whilst we were off the campsite, we feel the pitches and electric hookups should be numbered accordingly so as to avoid confrontation!!! The only thing that really bugged us all was the fact that a lot of the fellow campers did not adhere to the 11pm curfew, some nights were extremely noisy especially in the early hours of the morning.Apart from this a very good visit and we will return, weather was brilliant!!! Definately recommended for families with children of all ages.

We arrived on the Friday (19th) and went back on the Monday (22nd). We had booked the 'lakefield saver' field which is one of two fields without hookup. We was welcomed by an excellent reception and taken promptly to our pitch. The toilets are clean and there are plenty of showers avaliable so it never really got busy. On site is a shop, laundrett, cafe and chip shop. There is a seperate dog walking area and two adventure playgrounds for the kids. The site is right opposite the beach (5min walk) and is close to pubs, shops and arcades. This site is excellent providing all the facitlities you need for camping or caravanning. We found the pitch we had to be quite windy and was quite a way from the toilets so it was a bit of a pain if you needed to go in the night!!
On Saturday night we all decided to go to the 'Seagull inn' which is owend by northam farm, it was packed, and this was at 6pm! The entertainment was good an the beer was resonibly priced, but you need to get their early, people without children can use a seperate area which never really got busy.
Overall this is a top notch site with plenty to do if you go out and abut in Brean, we are going back in September so heres hoping the rain stays off!!

Our second visit to this excellent caravan park. The first time it was earlier in the year and not so busy but we found that the same high standards of security, cleanliness and friendliness still applied. The toilet block that we used by 2 acres field was always clean, never had to wait for bath or shower although there were occasionally queues..perhaps we bathe at odd times so it was quiet. The shop stocked all the things that you tend to forget and we thought was competitively priced. We didn't try the restaurant but the take away food was fine. The on park wardens do an excellent job guiding you to a pitch and the fields are kept in very good condition..virtually as soon as a caravan departs they mow the pitch. A lovely relaxing, very enjoyable experience and highly recommended.

This was our first time at Northam farm, and the site is simply brilliant. The pitch we had was only a few minutes walk from the new shower and toilet block, which is superb in its layout and positioning in the no dog club field.

The staff are friendly and helpful. the biggest let down was the typical english summer, but we carried on with our holiday and will be going back next year for more than one week, praying that we have better weather.

If I was asked to give the site a score out of 10 I would give it a 9, as for the weather well maybe a 3 rising to a 5 at the end of our week.

Just returned from a week at Northam Farm, overall a very good site, the new shower block is wonderful but 50p for a shower which lasts 8 mintues!! they don't advertise this on website, but the older block equally as clean just older is 20p.

There are a lot of youngsters on site, majority were causing trouble but we were down the quiet end, I would not pitch around or near play areas very noisy and untidy and compared to rest of site the pitches seemed smaller (there are bins but they were obviously missed), there's a great BMX track our lad loved it.

It gets extremely windy there so make sure your awning is facing inland, even if you have to push your van into pitch as we did did it's worth it! Fabulous for kite flying on fields at back of campsite.

Brean (sunset strip) itself was a bit rough and ready and there were a few fights at night down there, not enough pedestrian crossings or litter bins!

If you wish to visit the Seagull Inn be there by 5pm to get a seat it's extremely busy, if you go out of Northam Farm and go right there is the Beachcomber Inn which is as good but not as busy.

A walk down Brean Down is worth it, climb the steps and admire the fabulous views prepare to be sand blasted.

If you're a bootsale/market lover, Brean and surrounding areas are very good, there's one in the area every day almost, watch out for the photo man at the markets etc. before you know it you have had your pic taken with woody or tweenie Jake and he's after £6.50!

Forgot to mention there is a shop on site charging the usual campsite prices, there's a Tesco in Burnham (Ben Travers Way) it's on the left as you're coming in Burnham - not 24hrs, there's a large Asdas and Tescos in Weston Super Mare as well.

We will visit again - for a large 350 pitch site it's very well run, we really did enjoy ourselves. There's plenty of things in area for days out there's the animal farm country park £5.50 per person, I think it's a bit pricey has a few animals inc. a vicious shetland pony! and some petting animals, it has got a play barn with basic soft play and 3 good slides and outdoor adventure bit, with 3 trampolines, no safety net :O( . There's a small motorbike electric type thing but you have to pay £1 a go and only goes round small track 3 times!!

Theres other attractions in area, cheddar and wookey hole prices are around £7 kids and £9 adults there's a free bus running to them from northam farm once a week, parking can be difficult at both attractions, if you visit Weston for a day the beach carpark is £5 for all day but its a long walk for the little ones into the town if you fancy some chips. They still have the beach ponds very handy as the tide goes right out! take or buy windbreaks very windy! another thing whether its permanent or not I dont know but as your approaching burnham just by Home farm site there's loose chippings nightmare!!

Thats all folks i think i have covered most things
HappyCamping :O)
