Styche & Stokes Barn are two separate sites about 1 mile apart, and this review is only for the Styche Campsite. The site is accessed along a rough, single-track road. However the track is straight so having to reverse a caravan / trailer along it shouldn’t be a problem as the ends are within sight of each other. The site is set on a steeply sloping hill, however it has been terraced well so the majority of the pitches are almost flat. Unfortunately for tent users most of the level pitches are only for caravans. There are a small number of tent pitches on level bits of ground, but the main tent area is a strip of fairly rough grass with a quite pronounced slope right at the top of the site. The views from any of the pitches are fantastic however, and look out over open countryside. It has to be said that it is a nicely spaced out site. The stewards are very helpful & attentive and the site is kept very clean & tidy. The facilities consist of a single, brick built, shower block with two, very clean & large shower cubicles. The showers are hot, powerful and free. The toilets facilities are housed within converted portacabins, and again are very clean & well kept. There is a single outdoor washing up sink. There is no dedicated children’s play area, but a large strip of land at the top of the hill is left open and kept the children in our small group happy. We used an electric hook-up and were informed that it was rated at 10amps, although there were a number of slightly higher rated points so that might be worth asking for. The water points are dotted around the site, but none were close to the main tent area at the top of the site, so lugging water containers up hill became a chore. The site is about 10 – 15 mins walk from the centre of Much Wenlock, which has a petrol station that is also a fair sized supermarket. There is also a Fish n’ Chip shop that doubles as a Chinese Take-Away. The site did not appear to have a strict noise policy, and as such our stay was ruined by a group of about 50 people who had taken over a corner of the site. The noise finally abated at about 3:00am, but not until after a game of hide and seek at 1:30am that involved both adults and children running through the whole site screaming and shouting. I gather one brave gentleman did pluck up the courage to approach the group and was verbally abused by the drunken neanderthal males. From what the steward said most of the site had complained, and the group were warned. However on the next night they made up for not being able to carry on until the early hours by making as much noise as they could until 11pm. The noise issue spoilt what would otherwise have been an excellent weekend. The site is very clean, with nice views and friendly stewards. Would we return to The Styche…? Probably not. Although the site is very nice it is biased more towards caravan users.

Camped here for 2 nights with my son and was very surprised at how nice this site was. It cost us £6 a night and the male toilets x 2 and showers x 2 were excellent (free). There was also washing up facility with free hot water. The site itself is on levels some slightly sloping with ample amount of EHU and the views were across fields. It's a easy 10 minute walk into Much Wenlock which is full of history, an ancient Priory, museum and pub restaurants. For your shopping there is a Spar and a Nisa at the garage. We went for a walk around Wenlock Edge with fantastic views also.

We have just come back from the UKCS meet to The Sytche and I really liked it. It was a tad muddy in places, so we had to pick our pitch carefully, and I think the whole place slopes a bit so chocks are needed. The facilities were basic but very clean and warm and the showers were excellent. 10 mins walk from Much Wenlock, which is a really pretty little town, and only about 5 miles from Ironbridge Gorge, which, unfortunately, we had to leave for another time.

We have stayed at this campsite twice and we love it. Its basic but has everything you need clean toilets and nice hot showers. It is lovely and peaceful with lovely countryside views and if you get the weather its heaven. Its a bit uneven in parts but we didnt find it a problem. This is a very cheap site around about £7.00 per night with awning and hook up. The site is in Much Wenlock which is a lovely quaint village with local shops pubs only a 5 mins walk from the site.
