First impressions were very good. On entering the caravan park you drive up a tree lined road to the shop where you book in. One of the wardens asked if we wanted to unhitched the caravan and they would site it for us, which we did. Not only did they site it they got out a spirit level and got it perfectly level for us, a great start.
There are three levels to this park, the top level is for static caravans and where the shop is situated. The shop stocks essentials like bacon, eggs, a good supply of fresh duck eggs, bread, milk, wine & beer. There is a laundry room, a tourist information room along with a toilet/shower block and a small play area for the younger ones.
The middle level is on a slope and is for tourers, motorhomes and tents with a few statics around one edge.
The lower level is a flat area also for tourers, motorhomes and tents. There is a second toilet/shower block here and a second play area for the young ones. The swings have been recently refurbished and a deep layer of bark on the ground for anyone falling off the swings. There is a small field with goal posts and a small wooded area where my grandson spends most of his time climbing trees and falling into nettles. He soon learned what Dot leaves are for. There is an undercover dishwash area which was kept spotless. There is a cordoned off area with plenty of bins all marked up for recycling.
The site itself is kept immaculately clean and tidy and the grass is kept short.
We found all the wardens running the site to be very helpful.
Both toilet blocks were cleaned twice a day and were kept in a very clean condition. There was plenty of hot water for the showers with no time restrictions on them.
Dogs are allowed on site but must be kept on a lead at all times.
Riding bikes and scooters along with ball games are restricted to the lower levels only.
There is a bar/restaurant a few hundred yards from the main entrance and a petrol station/shop next door to that. Just up the road there is a farm butchers which is well worth a visit.
If you are looking for a quiet relaxing site then I can highly recommend this one.

Arrived on site after a horrible trip heavy rain and bad traffic. But soon forgotten we booked in at reception and the lady explained where the park toilet/shower blocks where and shop opening times etc, she then called a one of the wardens to show us to pitch he then explained where the water/bin points and in case of emergency where the managers could be contacted. What a great little park this is well looked after site very clean and tidy and toilet blocks spotless cleaned twice a day and even a quick clean late at night, two play areas kids loved it. And wooded areas to walk the dog would defo visit again Thankyou to all the staff for a pleasant stay x

First impressions was the nice drive up a tree lined road to the shop where we were met by a pleasant lady who booked us in & explained where everything was, we were taken by a warden who showed us to the bottom of the park to a secluded wooded area which was flat, surprised by this as some reviews state a sloping field which is what is first seen when you drive on up the one-way system. Toilets are very clean with heaters & big roomy showers in bottom block. Nice pot washing area under canopy. Very organised & well maintained park with children's playgrounds, wooded areas which are nice for walking the dogs & centrally located so convenient for visiting all the local surrounding towns. Good little shop sells milk, bacon, eggs, bread, alcohol, sweets, ice creams, camping goods, etc. , also freezer pack facility. An enjoyable stay. Will return when visiting this area in the future.

Stayed here with my dad in his tourer over Easter. On arrival, was greeted by a friendly female who booked us in & explained where everything was i. E. : tourist info, laundry, toilet blocks and shop opening times, a warden came and showed us to our pitch, which although slightly sloping on middle field we didn’t mind as caravans are easy to level (not very often find a complete flat area in the peaks)! The weather was very wet this Easter which didn’t help as the wardens had to tow us off pitch across the grass when we had to leave, most helpful. Even the toilet blocks were kept clean despite the weather at a busy time, also heated so nice and warm. There are 2 playgrounds for children to play and a wooded area to walk your dog. The shop stocks most essentials like milk, bacon, eggs, bread, tin food, camping equipment, wine & beer. All the staff are lovely and very helpful if anything is needed. We didn’t let the weather dampen our spirits as there are lots of indoor places to visit such as Haddon Hall, Chatsworth and the Caves at Castleton, so we still had a great time. Will visit this campsite again as it’s very central to everything. Looking to book again in August and seeing the Park Managers as they are very nice people. Ps: I’ll have another cheese burger waiting as you drive past.

On arriving at site check in welcoming enough, we were then given our pitch numbers. We had booked with friends and had requested to be next to each other, we were given pitches 49 & 50. When the warden took us to our pitch we advised this was incorrect as he put us on 38 but he just shrugged his shoulders not a good start. We were also advised that it would be hard standing it wasn't it was very very boggy grass, we stayed over Easter weekend which was a complete wash out weather wise this didn't help the state of the pitches which I add are very uneven. The site itself was nice and quiet small children's play area, showers & toilets were satisfactory however if this site was full not enough facilities as only 2 showers in each block.
Good base for visiting Ashbourne, Buxton, Bakewell & Matlock which was enjoyable.
Enjoyed our weekend overall however don't think we will be returning.

We stayed here for two nights over August bank holiday weekend. On arrival we were greeted by a very friendly receptionist/shop assistant who booked us in. Having signed us in she explained where everything was shower block, info on local area, shop opening times and said if we needed anything else come see either herself or one of the wardens. The warden then showed us to our pitch and asked if we had had the site explained to us. Saw the warden several times over the weekend always very friendly and chatty. The site was on a slight slope but I have camped on worse. The shop stocked a good selection of items and had good opening times. Also provided ice pack freezing. The upper toilet block was always very clean my only comment was the showers in this block had very little space to get changed and despite a sign warning of very hot water the water was not very warm at all. The lower toilet block which I only visited on the last day was also very clean and had showers with areas to get changed comfortably. Will use these if visit site again. The site is close to buxton, ashbourne, bake well and a great place to stay if visiting the Peak District. Will definitely be visiting again if camping in this area.

Arrived at the site and booked in at reception. We were shown to our pitch which was not level at all! (we phoned and asked if pitches were level and were assured all pitches were). Other than that the site is immaculate, no litter, well kept grounds, toilets always clean even on a busy bank holiday. Site warden always about. Good location for Buxton, Ashbourne, Dove Dale, Bakewell. 2 minutes to get on the High Peak Trail or the Tissington Trail.
Overall a lovely site. Just a shame about all the pitches being on a slope.

On arrival to newhavern caravan & camping park
we were greeted by some lovely staff who were very helpful
The park it's self is lovely
the toilet block has got to be the cleanest and most looked after I have ever seen
I don't see my children as they are always off having fun and playing on the parks, so that means beer open and just sit back and relax in the sun
We have fell in love with the place and are going to have a seasonal pitch x

We have just come back from a 3 night stay over the bank holiday weekend. We were welcomed by very friendly staff who were helpful throughout our stay. We drove down a beautiful tree lined road and booked in, we were shown to our pitch (a choice of 2 to pick from) by one of the wardens who told us where to find everything we needed on site. There is a well stocked shop and the toilet, shower and pot washing areas were spotless. The owners and wardens are around site frequently and engage with visitors which was refreshing to see. Close by is a garage (bit pricey) and a restaurant called carriages. A short drive away is Buxton, dovedale, ashbourne, bakewell -just to name a few! The site itself is quite big with some lovely dog trails which our pooch loved! There are 2 small play areas with swings and a climbing frame on one. We will definitely come back again. Thank you for having us especially at late notice.

Spent 4 nights at Newhaven, the site was well kept the toilets and showers were clean, the staff friendly and helpful. This is a lovely site. It was fairly quiet while we were there due to the time of year, just the weekender's arriving on Friday night till Sunday. I visit this area at least once a year but had not been to this site for about 8 -10 years. Not the most strategically placed site if you don’t want to take the car out. There are lots to do and see besides the walking which we always enjoy. Shopping at Buxton or a visit to Chatsworth. This year we took in the Matlock Bath light festival, a good night out. There’s also a fairly decent shopping area at Matlock including a Sainsbury’s.
