I've visited bank farm many times and have had many a good trip, this time there were a couple of downsides examples being uncontrolled kids and having to pay for electric separate from pitch, but still a nice site even if a tad expensive, staff are very pleasant and its got a great view, some lanes are tricky to negotiate for big caravans

Even though the roads are narrow across the common to Horton, it's well worth the effort as this site is a little gem on the Gower coast. We were in field 6 with the camping and caravan club, which although had a slight gradient proved to be a well worth effort in setting up. We were there for four days with our three young children and the family dog. Plenty to do for the kids, with excellent walking areas for the dog. Club house is small but friendly and affordable. Swimming pool is small, and again it's your choice to pick what times you go swimming. I can well imagine it being busy in peak periods.
The park for the children is great with an outside patio area where you can sit and enjoy a meal or drink whilst supervising the kids. The beaches in the area are second to none, with Porteynon being your panoramic view wherever you are. You can even walk there if you venture down through the village and follow the track which will bring you out by the village hall in Port Eynon.
There is a down point in as much there is only one toilet and shower block which again can be busy, but they were always spotless and well stocked.
Overall a stunning place for a holiday, will be returning as soon as we can

We arrived quite late as we had to wait for my husband to finish work and then travel, we had let the site know by phone but this was not a problem and on our arrival a young lady ran him through the hookup, which field and the facilities available, very pleasant and helpful. We were then guided to our field by a young man. This was only our second camp site choice since purchasing the camper van, we were pleasantly surprised.
As it was near to the end of the season the field we were booked into only had a few people pitched so we were able to pick our spot and had plenty of space to sit outside the awning and look over the beautiful countryside. There were a few people in the top of the field in a glorious extended awning on their caravan and they were pensioners who it looked like they were staying until the season ended. They were no bother nor noisy and everyone who visited them was friendly and stopped for a chat. Everyone seemed to follow the camp rules of keeping the noise levels down later in the evening. A beach is just five minutes walk away through sand dunes which Children would love to explore.
We visited the pub on site which sold good food at a reasonable price and also had great entertainment on the evening we went in, in the form of a DJ and disco who catered for the Children as well as the adults and everyone seemed to enjoy the games he played with the Children and encouraging them to dance. Every body was friendly including the bar staff and it had a warm atmosphere, we felt quite at home. We didn't use the pool as it was a bit cold end of September but from what I saw of it, it looked a decent pool neither too big or small, unsure of the facilities as we didn't go in to look.
We had a trip to The Mumbles and wandered through the shops, even in September it was very busy and alive. The shower block had plenty of hot water and was cleaned daily, clean and accessible as it was just at the top of the field. It was a very pleasant weekend and we will most certainly be visiting again. A lovely camp with friendly staff and a beautiful location.

We stayed in a rally field which meant we were a very long way from the one and only shower block which didn't seem to be cleaned or have the bins emptied in the whole week we were there. There were ample electric hook ups and water points in the field but the chemical disposal and wash-up facilities were as far away as the toilet block.
We used the swimming pool once but there weren't any private cubicles for changing and only one female shower, the changing area was small. The pool area and changing area were tired and not very clean. The water in the main pool appeared clear and clean but there were dead flies and a dead wasp in the smaller children's pool.
Generally the condition of the site reflected that it was the end of the season.
The views of the Bristol Channel could be seen from most positions on the site but the elevated position meant that it could be quite windy.
We found a lovely community shop in a neighbouring village where we were able to buy supplies and enjoy a cup of coffee and homemade cake.

I visited this site with my partner (both 40 ish. ) and stayed for a week from the BH weekend. The site is very good overall. From my personal perspective:
Pros:
- Stunning views across the Bristol Channel & Horton bay
- Easy access to the rest of the Gower, Oxwich is less than 10 minute drive
- Free hot showers, & washing up facilities with hot water
- No queues at shower. We stayed BH weekend and even at 'peak' times I never queued for a shower
- Excellent quality pitches with a lot of space. Ample drinking water points mean you don't have a long walk for water
Cons:
- The showers and toilets were not very clean. I used them at varying times of the day and I never saw anyone clean them and they never had that 'just cleaned' feel. They probably clean them once a day - it needs to be more often. My partner said that in the ladies showers there was hair in the shower plug hole.
- The pub on site is great for families. If you are a couple of adults it is like buying a drink in a playground. It needs to have a child free area.
- The food in the on site clubhouse is average but cheap
- There is a local pub called the Countryman. It is about a 20 minute walk away in Scurlage. It is like a function room (very bright) with a bar in the middle of it, made a change but not somewhere you would buy more than a couple of pints
All in all it is a great site. For me the only let down was the cleanliness of the toilet & shower block. Apart from that it is a good site with great facilities

Stayed in Field 3 for 2 weeks, fantastic views. Facilities were good. Clean toilet/shower block. Pub meals and drinks are reasonably priced. The cafe/takeaway was a good price, although more could be catered for the vegetarians, our daughter is rather a plain vegi, so found it almost impossible to get her stuff although pizza was always a choice. The pool area was clean. And the play park for the children suit all ages. The site shop was well stocked and included quorn products at very reasonable prices, at least your not ripped off as you are in some site shops. The walk to the beach is very steep so people with mobility problems I would suggest parking at Port Eynon Beach a 5 minute drive away and £5 for the day, where you will find 2 chip shops/cafe/toilets and the beach is fantastic and lifeguards are on duty. There is some lovely coastal walks and plenty to see around the area. We WILL be returning again next year. But with slightly stronger tent pegs, as the ground is a bit rocky in place, so had to buy some storm pegs. But all in all a fantastic place

Theres nothing wrong with the campsite, I just think I have stayed in much nicer places for less money.
You pay for the beach side location (it is a nice beach) and the facilities - pub (never went in) and swimming pool (took our niece and nephew once).
The pool was OK, not too crowded, but a little cold and only 1 shower each for ladies/men.
The pitches were not crowded, with plenty of place to play games. It was quite a walk from the pitches to the shower block (past fields that were empty ?!).
There were plenty of showers, they were reasonably clean and I never saw a queue

We visited Bank farm for 3 nights. The pitch we had was very nice and it had beautiful views however there are 6 fields and one toilet block for all 180 pitches. The toilets were cleaned once a day and oh dear did they smell. There was underwear on the light fittings, no soap in the dispensers hair in the drain. While you are using the toilets there are people outside waiting for you to finish, at one point my 15 year old went for a shower and she could hear a mans voice in the shower. There was nobody around to tell, luckily we had good weather and my youngest daughter enjoyed the pool. The site is just too big for the one shower and toilet block. The noise levels were very high too big groups of late night noise annoying when trying to sleep. We shall not be returning.

We booked this camp site with our in-laws for a 3 night break on our way home from camping in Pembrokeshire. Driving into the camp site you enter via a long driveway with you views over the sea - we were very excited! On arrival the reception team were very friendly & helpful & told us to follow the golf buggy to our pitch (alarm bells started to ring about the size of the site if a golf buggy is required)
Driving to our pitch it dawned on us that the camp site was not what we were expecting from the pictures of on-line. There were loads of semi-permanent caravans, with sofas and hot tubs outside, long grass and mostly looking well used! Our pitch on the positive side had a view of the sea and was quite spacious, on the negative side it was filthy - there were cigarette butts and litter all over it and with two young children this was unacceptable and although spacious pitches you felt crammed in as there were so many pitches!. Our in-laws pitch was on a side section and situated in between other semi-permanent vans in an area that felt very tatty!
We went to reception to request to be moved and again they were very helpful and accommodating. We moved to a field at the top of the site which felt like you were in a very different camp site altogether. (The one in the pictures!)
The toilet blocks felt very dirty as did the showers - definitely a shower where you keep your crocs on! It was the first campsite I have ever been to where there was a car park for the toilets and lots of people using it frequently!
The swimming pool was enjoyed by the children & was a good temperature, although again it felt very dirty with hair floating around and a dirty feel underfoot! The ladies showers by the pool smelt very musty and again were not clean.
We ate lunch on the terrace by the bar and the food was good.
The shop was well stocked and the laundry reasonably priced for a camp site.
The children liked the small park, but unfortunately there were lots of unsupervised children there swearing and generally behaving hideously so we removed our children.
The washing up area was fine although situated next to the skip bin area, with tv's and satellite dishes discarded by them and the wind blowing rubbish out of them. It felt like the local dump!
Would we stay on this site again - definitely not!

We stayed here for the 2nd week of our summer holidays, I will begin with the good bits. The welcome at reception was good and the long drive in well off the road bode well for a quiet stay, the view from our pitch was simply stunning of port eynon bay and beyond, the toilet block, waste water and toilet emptying facilities were close by to field 3. The playground was also quite good (kids comments) Unfortunately I believe this site is trading mostly off the view, there were a succession of 1 or 2 night stayers who seemed to think they were at a festival, shouting screaming and swearing were all par for the course till midnight and beyond. The toilets smelt awful and the showers appeared dirty.
We visited the coffee bar whilst our kids used the pool, there were lots of flies within and the fly killer machine was working overtime. The place felt grubby, I ventured into the bar and was greeted by a musty smell that never really went away for the week, the drinks were reasonably priced though. Free wifi is advertised as phone connection is poor but it is so slow it drove me bonkers trying to do some basic internet surfing ( it wasn't busy either)
I used the pool on one occasion but it was very cloudy and there was hair, debris and a lot of sand at the bottom so I didn't go back.
This campsite could really be something and probably was in its day but for £30 a night with metered electric on top we will not be going back.
