We're just back from a 5 day break at Bank Farm and have to say it was brilliant. The weather was typical Gower weather- periods of rain and shine, but there was enough to do on the site and in the surrounding area to keep the kids amused.
The on site swimming pool is heated (although it is still quite cool when you get in) and has a very clever retractable roof so that some of the pool is undercover, very useful on a rainy day.
There are a couple of kids play areas too. Our kids are aged 6 and 3 and they loved them. There's a games room that the older kids could use.
The food there is ok, the take away stays open until about 10.45 which was great.
The views are amazing and the beaches are fantastic. There is also a 'Holiday Village 'nearby in Scurlage which ahs an indoor pool and kids play area.
The only slight annoyance was the toilet blocks. Although they were cleaned twice a day (I think), they could do with some updating. Along with some soap!
But saying that, the staff were friendly, the atmosphere was laid back and I wouldn't hesitate to book up again.

A friend and I stayed here for 2 nights with 3 children. We had 2 tents, one for us girls and one for the boys which we were allowed to put on the one pitch. The site was busy when we arrived, but we were allocated a lovely quiet corner pitch in field 3, which was a sensible distance from the toilet/washing up block but not too far away to make it a long walk.
A very efficient, friendly check in girl, totally uncommunicative guy on quad bike who showed us to our pitch. He didn't utter one word!
The kids enjoyed the indoor pool very much, although on the second day there were some older boys jumping into the pool who should have been better supervised by the pool attendant in case of accidents as there were some fairly young other children in the pool.
We never had to queue for toilets or showers. I queued once to wash up, but not for long. Facilities were clean and there was plenty of hot water.
We didn't use the bar or cafe - they looked a bit gloomy. The shop was reasonable for basics. The kids enjoyed the playground facilities.
Port Eynon beach was fab, we went swimming and crabbing and had delicious fish and chips the second night at the Seafarers before the long trek uphill back to the camp site.

Firstly I am a local living only 20 minutes away for the site! The Gower is one of the most beautiful places in the world and Swansea is the perfect civilised back up to this. However bank farm is somewhere I stayed reluctantly but when offered someones caravan to use what can you say??
The place fills up with large family groups who can be loud.
I have stayed in a tent previously and despite torrential rain and gale force the noise and partying continued till 3am! In the caravan I didn't notice it so much however there was a lot of noise from people walking up the lane beside the campsite.
The clubhouse has seen better days but the food is ok.!
The shower block is small and the showers aren't great or clean.
The swimming pool is good in that it is indoor/outdoor with a sliding roof but the surrounds are dirty and the water is very cloudy. They allow everyone to bring in glasses and plates around the pool.

Friendly staff, close to a good beach and reasonable views are the positive points about this site.
On the down side, the pool was cold (and could not work out why the conservatory type cover had been pulled back to expose the swimmers to the cold wind) and the changing rooms were dirty.
The men's loos smelt of stale urine and the loo paper had run out on more than half of the stalls on Sunday morning. No soap was provided.
The dish washing facilities were OK.
The kids' play area attracted gangs of youngsters / teenages, some of whom did not see a problem in taking other children's toys without permission and the clubhouse seemed noisy (but we did not go inside) - almost as noisy as the karaoke coming from one of the tent groups on the Sat night. Fortunately, they stopped the music at 11 but I would not have been happy if we were closer to that group.
At around £25 for 2 adults, 1 child & 1 baby, it was not cheap and the facilities we used were a long way below the standards we have had at cheaper sites. We are unlikely to return.

After reading such positive feedback about this site, we were really excited about going to Bank Farm, unfortunately we were very disappointed!
The site is located on a hill, it was very windy but had beautiful views.
The staff weren’t very friendly or helpful. The toilet/shower blocks were smelly and dirty. The showers were luke warm. When we complained about it, we were told that they were cleaned 5 times a day and it was a very busy time of year!
The site was very busy and noisy, especially between the hours of 8 till 11:30pm.
There was a bar area, but the toilets again, were extremely smelly.
There was a play area, which the children enjoyed and a shop, which closed at 6pm.

A massive site with only one toilet building.
I could not work out when Toilet and shower facilities were being cleaned. Overflowing garbage in containers. Having to shower a toddler after a day at the beach is a nightmare the showers are cold.
It was quiet after 10 so that was nice
The pool was nice and so was the view but the walk to the beach is a real climb so we needed to drive and pay for parking so we might as well have stayed somewhere else.

I spent 2 weeks here with my wife and 3 children and although this is an idyllic part of the world and we enjoyed the break, this site was far from perfect. The site is huge but only has one solitary toilet block, so the poor people pitched in the outer fields probably had at least a 10 minute walk. They were kept in a pretty poor state and the smell was vile. No toilet paper unless you wanted to use the heaps left on the floor. There was no soap to wash your hands afterwards. The showers were below standard. Although the water was hot and free, they only stayed on for a matter of seconds and the floor was filthy. You also need to take 2 towels, one to dry yourself and one to stand on. The way in which the toilet block was cleaned was to lock the door and jet wash everything in sight, once this was done they did not even wipe anything down. They just let it drip dry! The washing up area was also a waste of time as there was only luke warm water and no plug to keep the water in the sink anyway! The rubbish skips although emptied daily were usually overflowing and there were no recycling bins at all.
The swimming pool was cold and the changing facilities were small and the floor was like a reservoir. Our pitch was large but on a slope. Apart from the set pitches around the perimeter of the main field, everyone else seemed to be put wherever there was a free space.
The site was busy and quite noisy during the day as you would expect at this time of year, but after 11pm it all went extremely quiet. The on site shop is actually the village shop, it is small and only provides the basics. If you want more, the nearest major store which is Tesco, is a 35 minute drive away.

2nd visit this year to the site. Bank holiday weekend so site was very busy. Toilets weren't cleaned as regularly as we would have liked. Washing-up sink water pressure not too good if more than one person trying to use at the same time.
Lovely beach nearby. Bar prices competitive and food is average. Reasonably priced shop on site. Overall a good site in a lovely area.

Just wanted to say this is my 3rd visit to then campsite & it definitely will not be the last, The views are stunning toilets / showers clean & plenty of them
Club house in case the weather is really bad, swimming pool, the beach is fab just prepare yourselves for the hill trek coming back. Well stocked & friendly shop. We had friends join us on the site for the day with no issues. Pitches are also a very reasonable size.

Visited this site to try out new tent. Excellent views and lovely campsite just five minutes from the beach, but quite a hill to walk up to get back to campsite
The price was £16 for the four of us but that was low season. Site has swimming pool, cafe, bar and small arcade for kids. The site was well maintained, our field was quite a distance from toilets though.
Really good site would highly recommend. My only gripes are the rubbish skips were over flowing and no shower curtains and the misses constantly moaning that she couldn't get to sleep, so take a bag to showers to stop your clothes getting wet.
