Really enjoyed our visit to bank farm :)) very nice and friendly site. The toilet and wash block was very clean, playground area was great for the teenagers and toddlers with it's separate play area. Clubhouse offered great food and beverages at reasonable prices. On site shop as well for your milk, bread etc. Lovely walks all around port eynon with pubs, fish shops etc along the way. My first time to bank farm but will definitely be returning

Fantastic place, couldn't believe how big the site is. Very narrow lanes on way to site so if you only have a car, should be ok getting there. Plenty of toilets and showers with plenty of hot water. Am looking to book to go again next week but with the kids this time as think they'll enjoy. Would recommend to anyone as it had such beautiful view across the Channel. There's an outdoor pool the men went to and they said how nice it was but if you don't fancy that, there's also an indoor pool or a short stroll to the beach. Even though we didn't go there, there is what looked like a nice size clubhouse with plenty of tables outside to soak up the sun while having a drink, might have to sample a drink next time we go.

Lovely site very well kept. Clean showers, toilet block. Please try the breakfast from the cafe, it's pretty good for the price. Convenient little shop on site and launderette. Be warned, great getting to the beach but bit of a trek from the beach (all uphill), but it's worth it, you can stroll over to Port Eynon and sample the fish and chips. Great little pub/restaurant on site. Also children's play areas. Will definitely go back, one of the more relaxed and quieter sites I've visited, no rowdy youngsters which is great when you have young children with you. My two boys loved it and didn't want to leave so planning another trip. And would just like to finish with lovely staff from the reception to the shop, cafe and pub/restaurant, all very polite and friendly

We stayed at this campsite for two nights, a Friday and Saturday. It had lovely views and our pitch was nice. It was nice and quiet on the Friday night and everyone there seemed friendly.
The toilet block was large enough to accommodate everyone and was kept to a high standard of cleanliness. There was a swimming pool, cafe, bar, and shop on site which made this place very convenient, and the beach was a short walk down a stony path.
Overall I thought this site was a very nice family friendly campsite and my husband and six year old son seemed to be enjoying. However on the Saturday night there was an awful lot of noise until well into the early hours with loud music and shouting coming from some caravans and tents in the field. The language was appalling with loud swearing and other obscenities. This didn't go down very well with us as our young son was listening to this. There were also gangs of youths allowed to camp there when it states that this is not accepted on the website. There seemed to be no sign of anyone patrolling the place and we felt quite unsafe.
It seems to be a good place for partying but not for families with young children. I will not be returning.

Just got back from an Easter week break at Bank Farm. Perhaps due to the un-seasonal weather, it wasn't as full as previous Easter holidays. But, the same high standard of service was as evident as if it was peak season.
Talking about the prolonged winter, I was shocked to see how much it had affected some local shops.
The village shop in Scurlage was the hub of activity for campers and locals last year. This year it is just scraping along. My wife tried to do most of our shopping there to keep it going.
I know that this site is not a talking shop about current times. However, I wonder if there are any others who remember visiting Ogmore by Sea in the 60s, 70s and 80s?
As a child, my family would spend the 'Miner's fortnight' there. At that time there was the main shop; Hardy's Cafe, a post office, cafe and three pubs ( the Graig, the Sea Lawns and the Brigadon).
Since the camp site closed, Hardy's, and all three pubs, have disappeared.
C'mon, if you want to see some of your favourite areas ending up like this, keep bringing your own cheap food and drink. If you want to keep visiting these areas, with their facilities and amenities, how about supporting them with a little bit of your patronage.
Nuff said!

Visited with a tent and stayed in field three with an electric hook up. Found the campsite which is quite large to be clean and comfortable with helpful staff and good facilities.
Is is a steep hill down to the beach. And no phone reception other than maybe one network.
Great views and would recommend a stay here for both tents and tourers. Toilets clean as we're showers. Beware though if it windy you could be very exposed sitting on top of the hill. Price you pay for views.

I have been to Bank Farm, Gower many times. First went as a backpacker and have built up to a six man tent in the past ten years. Always found the staff very friendly and helpful.
The site is well maintained and clean. There are good facilities and amenities on site. The club house, and village shop, are decently priced. The clubhouse offers a varied menu from take aways to sitting meals. If you prefer home cooking, or being more self reliant, the village shops at Scurlage and Knelston are close by. Scurlage also has a Doctors surgery and pharmacy; a great comfort to those campers with children!
The toilet and shower block is above average standard. I noticed one reviewer stated that there were only 4 male and 8 female toilets. Can't swear to the female facilities but, there are two male and two female areas in the block; A total of 8 and 16, so queuing is very rare. As for the floors being dirty, its a grass site; what do you expect during wet weather?
The children's' playground has a lot more to offer than the usual rusty slide and tyre on a rope. Besides this play area, there are plenty of open spaces for football, cricket and kite flying, and Horton Bay is a ten minute walk away. The beach is never crowded, and with its' mixture of sand, pebbles, rock pools and dunes is a child's paradise. Admittedly, the walk back is steep, but short. If you don't fancy the walk, take the car to Horton Bay or Porteynon car park, buy a moderately priced all day ticket and come and go at your leisure!
Sorry to finish on a negative note but, Bank farm is a good family site that caters for families. However, at times, some of these families can be more 'revellers' than campers and have no respect for fellow campers. If you find this to be the case, simply go to the 24 hour site office! Believe me, they are more than willing to help and appreciate your comments.
All in all, a big thumbs up for Bank Farm. Already booked in for four more visits this in 2013. Why am I going again? Because, since 2011, after seeing where I camped, my wife now accompanies me. One look at the site and surrounding area turned her into a camper. Of course, I'm more 'glamping' than camping, but in her words, she feels 'safe'.
P. S. It was her that booked us in for2013. Nuff said!

We spent 5 days here on a tent pitch with electric hook up. The Staff were very helpful and friendly and we were shown to our pitch by a man on a golf buggy on arrival. The field we were located on was on a slope, but this didn't cause too many problems for us.
We did find the electric hook up point to be a large distance from our pitch and out cable wasn't long enough, but thankfully Reception lent us one (we just had to leave a £40 returnable deposit). There was a mixture of tents, tourers and caravans on our field.
The toilet/shower/washing up block was a very short distance from us and well lit at night. There were a good number of showers and toilet cubicles and they were kept clean, however I did find the shower water very hot, so not suitable for washing my young Daughter.
The washing up area was outdoors but under a canopy and had large sinks with draining boards, but the water pressure wasn't good when lots of people were washing up at the same time.
We felt that the spacing of the pitches was good, not overcrowded and there was lots of space for our toddler Daughter to run about and play. She especially liked the sandpit play area by the Clubhouse! There is also a larger play area, with swings, roundabout, seesaw and slides which is more suited to older children, but she still had fun in there.
The view from our pitch was beautiful, overlooking Horton/Port Eynon Beach, it was lovely to hear the crashing waves during the night. We took a few trips to the beach but didn't use the path, as it was too narrow and rocky for a buggy, instead we used the road, which was a longer route but much smoother.
The beach is sandy, with plenty of rock pools for little ones to explore and it is lifeguard patrolled.
We were pleasantly surprised by the shop prices, which are usually extortionate at most sites! The shop was very well stocked with everything from bacon and eggs, to beach and camping equipment (very handy as we only brought 1 saucepan with us!)
The prices at the on site Cafe were also good and if you needed cash, they offered cashback there and at the Bar when paying by debit card, which was very useful as no cashpoints near by.
The swimming pool was nice and had a toddler pool at one end and despite being advertised as an outdoor pool, it does have a huge glass sliding enclosure that they put up when the weather is poor. The changing rooms were sadly on the small side, so we got dressed back at the tent instead.
Port Eynon is the nearest place for beach shops and food and can be accessed by walking across the beach from Horton, or driving down and parking in the pay and display car park. There are 2 fish and chip shops with cafes right next to each other looking out to sea, a beach shop and ice cream counter, also a couple of pubs nearby.
This is quite a remote part of the Gower, so you do need a car really to access other beaches and attractions.
We started our holiday on a Wednesday and our first couple of nights at Bank Farm were enjoyable, sadly on the Friday, a caravan turned up nearby and was holding noisy parties with friends that had come over from other pitches til 2am, keeping us awake in our tent. The staff do patrol at night and told them off, but they kept cranking the music back up after they had left and resumed their shouting and swearing.
This is advertised as a family friendly site, with a noise restriction from 11pm, but sadly it seems impossible for the staff to enforce. As a result of these inconsiderate campers, we decided to cut our holiday short by 3 nights as we couldn't face any more lack of sleep with a toddler to run around after.
We voiced our concerns to Reception staff, who were very apologetic and offered us the option of relocating to another pitch, but we declined as the hassle of taking down our very large tent and then re-erecting it somewhere else didn't seem worth it.
It is a shame as this was a lovely site with beautiful views that we would have liked to have stayed longer at.

The owners of this site were friendly and helpful. The toilet and shower facilities were well lit and showers clean with hot water.
Good play area that kept my 5 year old amused for quite a long period of time. The swimming pool was clean and well maintained. We ate at the clubhouse and the food was well cooked and reasonably priced.
The on site shop was not over priced and stocked everything we needed. There is a path leading to local beach which is a nice 10-20min walk but would advise driving down if you have a pram as it is quite rocky and steep on the walk back up.
The site was clean and well maintained but my only complaint was that there seemed to be a lot of teenagers hanging around during the night (10pm - 12pm) who all seemed to know each other so I assume their parents are caravan owners who come most weekends during summer holidays. At one point I did see the owners coming and telling them to go back to their vans so it is dealt with promptly but it has put me off using this site agin as I have small children and it was noisy during 10pm and 11. 30pm.

Stayed here for 2 weeks end of July into August. We had chosen to have a fully serviced hard standing pitch. On arrival was surprised to find hard standing was concrete with slabs beside for awning! so we had to pitch the awning on grass as we had not brought a hammer drill and nails that appeared to be the norm for the hard standing pitches which nearly all seasonal.
I tried to connect the water using aquaroll mains but the mains tap needed some weird contraption the likes of which I have never seen before. I was told I needed an adaptor which the shop would sell me. Off I went with a fiver in hand but had to return for another as I was charged almost £10 for a cheap piece of plastic. Not happy! I needed an extra male pushfit tap connector, but bizarrely the shop did not have one so I went to reception to be told I needed an aquasource water connector at £45 from the shop. Don't think so! after a 7 hour drive was not feeling amused so beware!
We were pitched in with 75% seasonal pitches and it was obvious that all the kids and grown ups knew each other well and were not interested in being social. Our kids 6 and 11 usually make friends within minutes, but here struggled to find anyone to play with.
The noise from people returning from the bar in large rowdy groups was a nightly annoyance which lasted for about 90 minutes every night and woke us regularly.
On a positive note the location is amazing with views out over the beautiful bay and so many amazing beaches all within a few minutes drive. Other reviews have commented on the remote location which is a plus however the nearest large supermarket is a 3 hour round trip if you include the shopping time.
Would we go again probably not, but if we did, not in with the seasonal pitches who made us feel unwelcome.
