Maybe because it was half term and it was close to the end of season, I don't know, but I was disappointed with this site.

On arrival, we were shown to our pitch-and that was it-no mention of where any facilities were; taps. Elsan, etc so the kids were dispatched to find them. We were put in field 2 which on first impressions, looked like a nearly full field. We soon discovered that we were about the only ones there - most of the pitches-and some in the other fields-are seasonal pitches. That explains why we couldn't get a FS pitch even though we booked in Jan. Only a couple of them had visitors and that was only to collect things. It seems that these vans stay all year round-bit annoying when they've got all the FS pitches and are not there to use them.

Toilets/showers were clean enough but basic-the showers had constant hot water but need a shelf to put your toiletries on and a squeegy mop for after-lots of grass and mud left in them from shoes. And no soap dispensers. If its dark, the light goes on as you go in, but if no-one else comes in you end up in the dark again halfway through a shampoo!

Playground was small and only suitable up to the age of about 8.Shop sold basics-there's not a supermarket for miles but the Texaco garage in nearby Knelston sells most things including fruit and veg.

The pool area was a real let down. The water itself was clean but cold. It has a retractable cover which means, as its closed at this time of year, you have condensation dripping all over you when you sit in there. Some seats were soaking wet and were dirty or split. A lot of the tiles in the pool were cracked. The worse thing was the slime around the edge-moss and dirt had built up along the bottom of the cover, especially by the doors which had run onto the floor-it was revolting. As the changing rooms were outside (bit cold this time of year) you had to try not to step in it to get to them. The changing rooms were very shabby-no cubicles and a small bench and not even a shower curtain.

The on site pub seems to be the local for the villagers too.Food was good and reasonably priced,as were the drinks.Staff were friendly and helpful.Pub area itself was a little grubby-it felt like it needed a good clean;tables were sticky and carpet wasn't hoovered for several days.Theres a small amusement area with a small soft play area and a couple of pool tables.

The view over the sea was fabulous-because of the position, it was a very windy site so you need rock pegs!Horton beach is a steep walk away but you can drive there in a couple of minutes and goes into Port Eynon which is also a small village.Mumbles is worth a visit-cafe Verdi along the seafront is lovely.Swansea is good for shopping and the National Waterfront Museum is worth a visit.Theres also a fab leisure centre with a terrific pool.

What a fantastic short break we had will definitely return soon. The site wasn't too overcrowded and we asked for a large pitch for our tent, 2 cars and a dog and we were given a whole field to ourselves for the reasonable price of £36. The kids loved the park and the food and drinks in the bar were good value. The pool was lovely and warm and they had a really well stocked shop. My only criticisms would be that the pool changing rooms were in need of a good clean and they could do with an extra toilet block close to field 12.

Stayed for 2 nights to try out our new tent. We thoroughly enjoyed and the facilities were nice and clean. Within walking distance to beach but path maybe a little steep for some so take care. Friendly and helpful staff.
My only slight criticism was that we were pitched quite far from shower / wash up block but this was due to the fact that site was busy. Nice scenery too.

Great site and a very friendly atmosphere. On arriving we were quickly booked in and shown to our pitch which saved the hassle of searching around. We happened to choose a very sunny weekend and so they were busy, yet the site allowed space for children to play.

The bar/cafe was well maintained and very pleasant and there was a great play area which entertained the children while we relaxed on the patio.

There was a pool that my wife informed me was very cold, but the kids disagreed with that. The walk down to the beach was quite steep but only took 5mins. I wouldn't want to push a pushcahir or wheel chair up it though.

Port eynon and Horton are very small villages so only a beach shop and a great couple on chip shops. The beach itself was lovely with beautiful dunes and surrounded by hills, ontop of which was bank farm.

My only failing of Bank farm were the toilet block that could do with updating and there was no soap dispensers in the toilets. But then as you leave the block you step out to one of the most magnificant views of the Gower and you remember that you are not there for top of the range toilet blocks.

I would say that if you have kids and don't mind a small walk to the beach you will find bank farm a relaxing holiday.

Bank Farm is a nicely situated site overlooking the bay. The pitches do slope away slightly but the ground to be fair is almost billiard table flat which is great for towing on and off pitch.

Tents and caravans are mixed within the fields and the pitches are a great size. Facilities on site are a small pool, shop, clubhouse and toilet / showers.

I am a little torn as I have to say I love the area, the camping pitches ere good and the price very very reasonable. I do however think the following comments should be considered before you book.

The pool is small and did not look particularly clean.

The bar area is a generous size and the drinks no more than local pub prices. Again the bar and lounge area was a little grubby.

Toilet and shower facilities. These appear inadequate for the size of camp and some queuing for showers may be required. The facilities are also very basic, though this in itself is of no great consequence. What was off putting is the general cleanliness of the facilities. While they are washed down daily, they are far from cleaned.

Again I have to say I am a little torn as although this review is mainly in the negative, having a touring van with hot water shower etc, the facilities could be ignored. As stated very reasonable to stay at £25 a night in high season, electric, awning etc all in. So maybe its a case of you get what you pay for.

I would certainly return to the site again, but would happily pay more for some cleaner updated facilities.

Once again, Bank Farm came up trumps.

We may have had the tail end of hurricane Bill & certainly not the weather that you would expect in August - but we enjoyed our stay.

The pitches are well laid out - we normally stay in field 3 but were placed at the top end of field 6 - still had views & lovely & quiet. Electric & water right next to us.

Shower block is ok - the campsite cleans it twice a day - but unfortunately, some people choose to make it dirty. The water was quite warm, but not exactly hot whilst we were there.

The club house, restaurant, swimming pool, shop & children's area are great facilities to have on the doorstep. The view from the tables outside the bar are amazing.

The walks around are great - our dog enjoyed his morning walk - & dogs are allowed in certain places on the beach.

The beach is so easy to get to & the Ship Pub in Port Eynon is nice for a change.

We asked if we could stay the extra night & were informed we could with no extra charge as they don't charge for the seventh night - brilliant!

There is so much to do in the area - we will be going back & staying at Bank Farm again!

Ok,here we go warts and all !

We stayed in field 3 ;by the hedge and in the bottom left corner. The pitch was a very good size (we have a large 6 berth frame tent) enough space for the car, trailer and more. The view was very good, over looking Port Eynon. Be advised though, when it rains heavily the whole field becomes very muddy ( tractor is on hand to tow you out if you get stuck). When it gets windy, boy does it get windy, make sure you have your tent pegged out well and that all guy lines are pegged out ; no matter how still and dry it appears to be (one tent got destroyed whilst we were there).

Facilities :

1 Shower block split into 2 for men / 2 for women which we always found to be cleaned regularly (even on rainy/muddy days).Showers could be a bit hit and miss temperature -wise. The washing up area is tagged onto the end of these.

Swimming pool (covered when inclement, open roofed when sunny) is clean but cold, ok if you keep swimming although young kids could go blue ! Lol.Only criticism here was the size of the changing rooms (4 people and you're tripping over each other).

Cafe, food reasonably priced and offers good value, staff don't seem to be in any hurry to serve you.

Bar/Club house, reasonable prices, beer good and lovely sun terrace.

Shop, stocks loads of stuff and reasonably priced(friendly staff)

Laundrette ok, driers take ages .

Reception, helpful and friendly. You can get cash back here and at the bar too.

Within easy reach

1 mile walk down steepish hill to lovely beach.

Down sides

Difficult to get out when very wet.

Overall, would recommend, just avoid the Eldis carvan owners week (disco etc)

Have just came back from a long weekend stay. Brilliant views and kids love it there. I would say they need a few more toilet blocks dotted about as it is a trek in the nights (in pitch black) to the toilet block. There is a nice park for the kids and the field we were on was great for them to have a kick about.

Bank Farm is one of the better sites of the gower in terms of the views, field 3 we stayed on which seems to be the best of the views
Toilet and shower block was slightly dated but overall clean. Small park for the children which they spent many hours, lovely club house, swimming pool, small shop,
Rhossili bay which is 2 miles away is worth the visit with spectacular views.

Slightly pricey at 25.50 a night was the only downfall.

Been touring for a couple of years and can honestly say this is the best view of the sea we have ever had, field 3! We do have a twin axle so avoid some of the more hazardous sites to get too, which would give you the views!

We found the site good, facilities very good, clubhouse, pool, kiddies park etc. Toilets OK actually being cleaned with pressure washer as we left so they certainly do get cleaned thoroughly! not necessarily finished off well.

Staff very polite and helpful, little shop sold allsorts. Beach just down very steep hill, so 5min drive to beach car park at Horton leads you to a super beach. Planning to return for bank holiday weekend. No local grocery store so go well stocked up. Clubhouse did do bar meals and they also had a cafe which seemed reasonably priced and food looked good. Very child friendly with kids play areas adjacent to bar, can imagine gets a bit loud at busy times but if you have kids ideal.
