 This is a great site that I have used twice in the last 2 years and hopefully will come back again.
Facilities are basic but kept very clean. Hot showers worth the 20p. All the facilities you could need are here, plus two good pubs in the village.
The views are fantastic and the location perfect for walking.

Location was amazing, owners friendly and helpful, price very reasonable - about £25 for 3 nights. Spacious fields so not cramped (except when people inexplicably pitch really close to other tents despite the large spaces around them!).
On site cafe was very good and a welcome bonus. Showers were good and hot and, though on a timer, definitely worth the 20p.
Facilities are basic but that's part of the attraction, plenty of hot & cold water available and clean toilets.

I just came back from a 3 night stay here. I found the owners both friendly and very helpful. The man walked my van to a spot on the grass and guided me to reverse over some peices of plastic (think they were bread pallets broken up) as it was due to rain overnight.
There's a shop on site and the staff inside were lovely. The cafe served a fab veggie breakfast and even had vegan options and soyal milk (big win!). The chippy wasn't open on the day I was there.
The site itself was big, quiet and peaceful with an occasional patch of phone signal - I found this perfect to switch off from the busy outside world :) Local pub has WiFi and serve amazing food.
Would definitely recommend this place. Toilets are a bit basic if that bothers you but come on, you're camping! generally clean and toilet paper in each cubicle and there are showers and drinking water available and plenty of space to wash pots etc. Loved it.

This is a basic farm campsite that was pretty busy over the August bank holiday weekend. That's because the location is perfect: just metres from a bustling pub and in the heart of Edale, accessible by train and a wonderful, remote valley with breathtaking walks.
Facilities are basic but fine. Plenty of toilets and enough showers to cater for busy times. You feel that you are on a working farm, but that's the whole point of coming here.
You can reserve for the bank holiday if you phone in advance and send a cheque - refreshingly analogue!

A great campsite with lots of space and informal atmosphere. Several open fields, all gently sloping, surrounded by trees for shelter but still leaving space for some stunning views. 20p showers, pretty basic wash rooms but functional.
The Old Nags Head is at the entrance, excellent for food and real ale, the Rambler is a short walk down the road. The farm shop in Hope is really good too.
You will hear sheep, cows and farm machinery - you're in the country on a working farm.
Edale is at the start (or finish) of the Pennine Way. Kinder Scout and the Mam Tor ridge are close by for walking and Chatsworth House and several caves and reservoirs (of dam buster fame) are nearby.
Second visit here. The location is the best thing about this site.

Lovely bank holiday weekend spent at this campsite. Ideally situated to walk from site and return via a refreshing drink at the pub near the entrance.
Showers piping hot and cost 20p. Basic but there is somewhere to get your shoes and clothes out of the wet so more than adequate. Lots of toilets and toilet roll was always available, e even though the site appeared full.
Grass had been cut recently so was fine for camping on and views were spectacular. Love, y to wake every morning to the sound of sheep and birds.
The village appear to have clocked on to the visitors and now easily accessible as part of the campsite there is a fish and chip shop, small cafe, post office with small general items to purchase (also allows freezing of blocks at 25p per block) and just up the road is a gazebo under which there is take away wood fired pizzas available.
Of course not forgetting the pub that does lovely real ale and home made food. Then there is another pub within ten minutes walking distance.

Stayed at Coopers for a couple of days and found the site to be a lovely little site, Basic but clean and the owners were lovely.
Had a nice chat with Mr Cooper who was more than helpful with Directions etc. Will definitely go again! Had a Fab time in a Beautiful little valley.
I think the problem with this site is Some of the regular visitors who go about as though it is them that own the place and that was the only fault we found.

Visited Cooper Campsite with 2 of my friends around the second week of summer holidays. Got to say, the proprietors of the campsite were not the friendliest bunch! A couple of grunts from one and a confused conversation with another, we finally establish our tent in the top field.
The site got very busy on the saturday/sunday, but it was expected being summer holidays! Despite how busy it got, our field was surprisingly quiet into the evening and night. Only problem with it being busy is that you're not given a specific pitch, just a field to go into, meaning that some rather inconsiderate neighbours pitched their gazebo right in from of our tent, completely blocking out our view.
The facilities were really very basic, toilet and shower block were dirty and smelly, but there were plenty of toilets and the showers were fine for 20p. There was no sign of hook up.
You can't book in advance at this campsite, so if you're going in summer holidays its best to head there on a thursday or early friday as we did.
We're not sure how the pricing worked, it was per adult, plus a tent, plus a car, plus a deposit, but it did work out around £23 per night.
I would only go back to this site purely for its location, it is beautiful and there's a great pub (Nags Head) at the end of the lane, however there are other sites in close vicinity. The facilities were definitely what put me off.

Nestled in the cleavage of the Great Ridge and the Kinder Scout Plateau is the hikers Shangri la of the Hope Valley. Cooper’s Campsite is an enchanting High Peak setting for a classic Ealing comedy ambiance. I’ve been coming here for probably decades and despite its forgivable deficiencies the campsite is one component of a perfect experience.
The shower block is “rustic”, “basic” and whatever other euphemism you can find for “out-dated”. But the showers are spacey and always hot so as long as you’re not expecting “luxury”, you’ll be content – even if you do pay 20p for the pleasure. And just when your expectations have dropped, you find the washing-up area has hot water and a roof. The fields have an excusable slope and for camper-vanners like me, there are electric hook-ups… but not enough to ensure availability so ALWAYS pre-order these.
The owners… after all these years I don’t know their names… have a charm of their own and add a greater depth of character to the experience. The guy is as close to a northern farmer stereotype as you’re as likely to get and is grumpy and friendly in equal amounts. If it seems like he’s being impolite and stroppy just smile and agree and wait for his mood to lighten which it generally does within a minute or so.
So stand in the centre of the camping field and look around at the breath-taking scenery and you stand here with the knowledge that you’re at the beginning of a myriad of iconic walks – including the short walks to the 2 beautiful, busy pubs in the village. And to the magical post office where the shelves are bare and yet they always seem to have the one thing that you need…. But that’s if you’re lucky enough to catch it open.

What a lovely, lovely place. Not the best shower and toilet block by far. But the site is great for walking the dogs, great pub across the road. Good cafe on site. The owner is a bit of a grump, but lovely with it. We're lucky that he chooses to share his beautiful home with us campers. Will be going again for definite.
