Spent a couple of days here. Its a nice site as it is so close to beach. It was quiet when we went but can imagine that it does get really crowded.
A long walk for campers to the one toilet block that was open, (as they had shut the 2nd closer block ) The open block was up by all the caravans, who probably have toilets they can use!, so that wasn't good with young children.
Over priced, but your paying for the beach side location.

Amazing camp site.
Great location situated right on the beach. Plenty of spaces to choose from.
Large toilet and shower block. Nice hot showers, electric for hair tools.
Perfect location that gets you right on the footpath. 7 easy miles to Rhosilli Bay, via Worm's head. A stop in the pub/cafe, soak up Llangennith beach view and take a bus back to Port Eynon.
Amazing food at the Smugglers Haunt. A little bit expensive at £20 per night but we will be back!

We spent two nights here at the beginning of the school summer holiday with two other families (tent and campervan). We were lucky as the weather was fantastic.
It's a large site with four fields, we set up in the farthest field. Before I'd got out of the car I was requested to show the camping permit, I thought this was good and showed how serious they were about protecting their site. It was well run with a large toilet and shower block.
The facilities could have been cleaned a little more regularly and the toilet paper did run out on Saturday night but it was a very busy weekend. The site is sloping but we had no difficulty finding a flat pitch for all three of us.
This was a great site for exploring with woods on one side, a ruined salt house at the end of the site with a sea wall and then the beach only a two minute walk away.
The shop had the basics, we only needed milk, bacon and bread and seemed reasonably priced. Just outside the site on the seafront are two fish and chip shops - perfect on the first night! Our kids loved that the ice cream van came on site!
I would definitely come back to this site

Just returned today from this site and had an excellent time. The site was very busy when we arrived and we had not booked in advance. Turned up with fingers crossed and the lady on the gate was pondering whether to let us in but thankfully she had a good heart and seen the look on my sons face so we were able to squeeze in. The site is right next to the sea and the welsh coastal path is close by. The surrounding area is stunning and we were very lucky with the weather so a stroll along the coast is was a must. The site itself is spread over 4 fields on a slight slope which levels at the bottom near the road.
The site is patrolled regularly for rubbish or bad behaviour which is something I was impressed with. The facilities were more than adequate for our 2 night stay and all staff were courteous and friendly.
Our only gripe is that my wife said the ladies showers/toilets were not very clean on Saturday & Sunday night although there was an improvement on Monday, I would assume that the volume of people using the ladies would have contributed towards any lack of cleanliness my wife experienced over the weekend. The Gents facilities were fine and My son & Myself had no complaints.
There is a pub close by as well as a very nice fish 'n' chip shop which serves to tables situated outside.
I will definitely be returning to this site and would recommend this site to anyone thinking of travelling to the Gower for a camping trip. I would also add I will be booking next time to prevent disappointment

We have just returned from our 3rd visit to this fabulous campsite and it was just as amazing as last year.
We were greeted by name and the staff were enthused that we had returned, they have almost a photographic memory for returning campers and even remembered our little one had chicken pox last year.
The owner can appear to be abrupt but he is running a very busy campsite with people coming and going constantly so its reassuring to see him out and about checking the pitches and generally keeping an eye on things, and as a seasoned camper I feel its how a proper campsite should be run.
We were pitched on the electric hook-up field with a short walk to the toilet blocks which were well maintained and always clean. The showers are fantastic.
A lot of the site is on a slight slope so bear that in mind when you pitch, you will need to level tables etc.
The shop has a few basics but we would recommend you take as much food and supplies with you as the nearest supermarket is 20 miles away and the nearest shop is 3 miles up the road and is expensive.
Having been to lots of different campsites over the years I felt that the pitch fee was reasonable for a family of 6 with electric hook-up (£27 p/n).
Just outside the site there are 2 chips shops, a surf shop, a gift shop, a restaurant which does takeaway and a pub which does food too. The beach is 5 mins walk away and is clean and manned by lifeguards.
If you want to really 'get away from it all' this is the place to go, don't expect late night openings and forget about fancy coffee, this is a real treat of a campsite and we will be returning time and time again.

Just returned from Bank holiday weekend from this campsite, which is right on the beach so once there you don't have to go anywhere. Considering the weather and the number of people filling all the fields the owner Rob keeps this campsite immaculate. You will see the staff going around checking for litter, they also give you doggy poo bags, lots of bins -
The showers are immaculate, never running short of soap, loo paper - considering the people using them - well done staff. If you forget anything, they will have it in the shop, or will try and get it for you. Massive bins for rubbish and recycling. What a good job this site is well managed - mainly families but so long as you respect the rules then go here and really unwind.
Excellent walks and also surf at Horton beach or on the point if main beach flat - also provide Wetsuit showers ! washing machines, dryers, hairdryers in one shower block, but plug points to use yours. Electric hook ups for caravans/tents - but pre-book.
Ice cream van twice a day also - 10/10 from me and I have been going for 23 years and it just gets better every year. If you have children they will love it, so safe you can sit in your tent/caravan and watch them play.

I've been coming to this campsite for many years. Unfortunately, over the past couple of seasons the campsite seems to have lost its 'personal' touch with prices and also attitudes changing !
The owner lacks personality and suddenly you are forced to pay for the bank holiday Monday even if you only want to stay until the Sunday.
Greed has changed my preference of campsites in the Gower and I now camp elsewhere.

We visited this site as a trip out, we don't stop in the winter!
This site is right on the beach and yes, ok it was December and it was very windy, however, I suspect this is fantastic in the Summer.
We will probably go back in the summer to try it out. Facilities are excellent, pitches are a nice size and the wardens are really friendly.
Not sure about the previous comments? We had a great chat to the wardens on the morning we left and they are both really nice. Their dog is also gorgeous and friendly.
Nice little shop on site too.

Well what a site. I've never stopped on a site were you can walk out of your caravan straight on to the beach { I know I've lived a sheltered life } but the wife loved it along with our 10 year old daughter.
You have a nice, if a bit narrow in places, drive down to be greeted by the owner on century duty, but you do get a nice welcoming smile.
There are 2 shower blocks so never really a wait for a shower, clean and tidy plus there's laundry facility's if you get your cloths duty to and there is plenty of space for the kids to play. We choose a pitch up near the top so you can get a lovely view of the beach
If you're feeling a little peckish there are 2 chip shops to choose from plus a restaurant and pubs close by.
We'll be back !

First visited this site in the early 2000's. Been a big change since then! Many more campers, and a bit noisier. Mind you, no wonder.
Its' a short, level, walk to the beaches of Port Eynon and Horton. Absolutely perfect for the kids.
The site shop, and the local chippies, pub and cafes, are also an added bonus. (Perhaps this is why it's so popular with all ages). However, I think this has spoilt the character of earlier times.
Because the site is situated on a hillside, the pitches are very close to each other. With the predominance of young family groups, this can sometimes result in late nights and early mornings. There also seems to be a more 'business' attitude compared to the former 'family' feeling.
Saying that, it's 'horses for courses'. Take your choice.
