Great welcome from all staff, very clean and tidy.
Fantastic showers with hot following water, the lower pitches were very shaded but the top pitches had the best sun.
A children's park was a short walk from the campsite, great evening walks down into Ravenglass.
A visit to muncaster and the roman bath house,
Fantastic location for la la ratty steam railway (which is a must if you enjoy walking) and the mainline train to whitehaven / barrow furness.
Great food served at the ratty arms. We would return.

This site had excellent internet connection and tv connection.
The washrooms were very clean. The site itself is open to the elements and therefore you tend to get a lot of wind blowing around the camp.
Owners very helpful.
I would never go back to this part of the Lake District though. The area had very little to offer. The village of Ravenglass was not far away but the people seemed not too friendly, especially the man in the village paper shop.
Also, to get to a really good supermarket you had to travel to Whitehaven (Tescos) which was 17 miles away. Nothing in walking distance.
We didn't even feel like we were in the Lake District. We love the Lake District but would definitely not recommend the west part.
If thinking of taking a walk all the way around Wast Water - please don't. A walk along the roadside is fine but do not attempt to walk around the other side (screes) unless you are a very experienced fell walker. It is extremely hard, will take you a long long time and is quite dangerous.

Lovely small very well maintained site set in woodland on the edge of the Ravenglass village. Walking distance to village, foreshore, station plus Muncaster Castle. Great location to explore coastline and Eskdale.
Very clean toilet/shower block. Good range of pitches and sizes.
Carol and Mike plus other couple (sorry forgotten the names)were friendly and very helpful.
Definately go back again

Great site in a great place
Very professionally run near the nice little village of Ravenglass. Loads to do either just walking or travelling from the local main line station up the coast we went to Workington and Whitehaven.
Workington is unremarkable with the usual shops, Whitehaven is nice on seafront but one street back the pubs are rough. We went in early afternoon decided to call for a pint some pubs we went in and out again very dire and smelly.
In one pub The Ship a very drunken local chap at the bar turned round and began swearing at me asked me what I was staring at, I ignored him and this was 2'o' clock in the afternoon on a Tuesday.
The one decent pub we found charged nearly a fiver for a cloudy pint and a half.
The pubs at Ravenglass are much better and very friendly. Ulverston is nice too
The Ratty narrow gauge railway is a delight and takes you to a beautiful little village called Boot this is a must if you go.

As long time campers and now recent glampers (motorhome) my husband and I are not usually inspired to leave a review of a site but we were so enamoured by this real gem of a site we felt we must leave a review. Although I had found the site prior to visiting the lakes we had originally decided not to visit the area on our holiday, however as the site we had intended to visit in Keswick had not met our expectations we contacted Ravenglass last minute and were able to book a pitch for 2 nights. This turned out to be three because the site was so lovely and the wardens so friendly. As for the area if you love peace and quiet and beautiful walks with spectacular views then this is the area for you. We can recommend Rose's Tea Room as they do fantastic Scones with cream and jam, mmmm! The facilities on site were spotlessly clean and the showers were lovely and hot with a proper dial and none of this push button nonsense. The family room was particularly well laid out with two very large showers that could be accessed via a curtained wall effectively making it 1 large showering area. The shop was very well stocked with the normal fresh produce and locally sourced bacon which was delicious, and all of the wardens could not have been more friendly, all in all wonderful site.

Lovely site - first time we have visited West coast of the Lakes - well worth it.
Really pretty site with mix of pitches dotted about and well kept shrubs etc. Lovely to watch the little lambs in the field next door.
Great to be able to walk 5 mins to waters edge and couple of pubs. Lil Ratty pub really close (next to the train station) very friendly and good food and sunny patio area.
Nice walks from Site especially to the Muncaster Estate along a private lane.
Only shame was that although we had nice sunny weather it was quite cold and the wardens just put heating on in loos for 1 hour about 8am. Such a difference from Braithwaite Fold!

A very well laid out club site. Modern facilities, nothing forgotten or left out.
All these goodies augmented by excellent wardens who care for, garden and ensure every thing is spotless and tidy.
The wardens care for their campers just as well as they care for the camp site.
Polite and helpful. If there was an award for wardens, we would certainly expect them to win it!
Ravenglass is only a small estuary side village but well worth a visit.
The mini railway is a brilliant boys-toy. Muncester House is a 20 mins walk away through woods, passing the Roman Bath ruins.

We stayed at Ravenglass at the end of February and found the site very clean, well maintained and very peaceful. The toilet/shower block was always clean, and fresh flowers and hand cream in the ladies was a pleasant touch, according to the wife.
The wardens were very friendly, helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them.
We used the site to enable us to complete a number of the Wainwright hills in the Wasdale area and found the location to be perfect.
Travelling from the North East coast we joined the M6 at junction 38 and travelled south to Junction 36 where we left the motorway and followed the route to the campsite. This route was long and at times very slow due to the traffic and the general hills and bends in the road. When we departed, we continued towards Whitehaven and then picked up the A66 at Cockermouth, this was far easier and the journey took us 30 minutes less to drive home.

Picturesque location. Site staff very helpful and friendly.
Spent some time in Workington which is a bit rundown as the only major employer now is Sellafield.
Handy though for a run out to Cockermouth which has some delightful shops and restaurants.
Another attraction is the small gauge steam railway which adults and kids alike enjoy.
One niggle was the lack of TV reception from the TV hookup.
Well worth a return visit.

Outstanding site, first caravan and camping club site we have been too and joined once on site. Very friendly and helpful wardens (Andy and Sam, I think) and extremely knowledgeable about the area.
Our friends broke their settee whilst there and Andy made a piece of wood to fit and even supplied the screws (and drill if we had needed it).
On the first night we had started a fire pit going and put wood on by mistake, Sam came along and politely asked us to remove it/helped us remove it and explained why we could not burn wood. Nothing was too much trouble and always very polite.
The facilities were excellent, very clean (cleaned at least twice a day that I saw), fresh flowers in block, 2 power showers (only had to queue once and was given the option of using the family room), mop to clean up afterwards, hairdryer, handcream, cotton buds, tissues, brilliant. Information room with leaflets, maps, telephone, washing up room with 3 sinks, industrial washing machine and dryer, iron and ironing board, everything immaculately clean, small shop within reception sold nearly everything from milk/bread to frozen meats/ready meals, not open all day but not really a problem.
The site is right next to Ravenglass, a couple of minutes to the park (suitable upto about 10 years), then you have ravenglass steam railway and the local railway line, over the bridge to the small village, with a couple of pubs (selling food), a very small post office and shop, beautiful harbour type seaside with different boats etc but did find some sand one day.
The opposite way is Muncaster with the castle well worth a visit but allow a full day loads to do if the weather is fine.
All in all an excellent site and would definitely visit again.
Not the cheapest site but definitely value for money for the facilities you get, the main one for us is cleanliness.
