We stayed as a family of 15 in 7 tents, on a Friday and Saturday night.

We arrived at around midday on Friday, and found a nice sized area in the far field. As the day wore on, we watched the campsite getting busier and busier! By the end of the evening, it was packed to the rafters.

The campsite was primarily full of groups of friends, and family groups. I wouldn't want to stay there if I were just with my husband! There was lots of noise and music, with most of the music going off or being turned down at 11pm. Don't expect to get much sleep before the early hours, unless you have your earplugs (thankfully I did). I've heard about these mystery security guards that parole the site after hours, but did not see these.

The toilets were plentiful, and cleaned regularly. Only 8 showers each for ladies and gents, but didn't have to queue for long. About 10 sinks to do washing up, and again didn't struggle to queue long. A park with rough and ready equipment for the kids.

As other reviewers have commented, make sure you designate your spot with cars/furniture as people were camping in the smallest of patches of grass!

We didn't do the walk to Bodiam, but had a great day out in Rye which wasn't far away.

A really busy site, and in our experience finding a site which allows groups was rare so noise is to be expected. If you like a festival like atmosphere then go there.

The idea of having a camp site with no rules sounds great but for me it wasn't.

I think this site is for local people or youngsters, as one reviewer put it `if you want to get drunk in a field with a bonfire and playing loud music`.

With no booking. Who wants to travel 50 miles or more to find the camp site full? You wouldn't be able to go elsewhere because all normal sites you need to book. To be honest the loud music wasn't that bad, although I think this was just luck that it was far enough away.

The `do as you like-ies` that live there are very unfriendly, threatening almost. Within seconds of us starting to pitch six or seven of their children came out screaming `we will break you` and `we will make this much noise all weekend` (they must be trained to do this) now people can live whereever they wish but if they don't like people camping next to their home then it is stupid to live on a camp site (what a life they must have)?

Some people there thought it was ok to let their dogs drink from the water tap and to wash the mud off their wellies in the washroom sinks (i saw two sinks blocked and overflowing this way)The cleaners of the washrooms delt with these things quickly and did their best to keep them clean. It seemed ok to start a large fire a few feet from someone elses tent.

The location of the site is very good, you can get to lots of days out easily. Nice pubs nearby and the fact that you can walk to Bodium castle is great. We had a fab day out at Bodium well worth a visit!

Another great weekend at this campsite, sometimes it gets a bit busy but that is because it is a great place to take the family, lots to do locally, good staff and a very safe place for the kids. If you like lots of rules and people telling you how to camp then don’t come here, this is a very relaxed site but that doesn’t mean it is unruly, quite the reverse.

We have camped at many sites all over the country this is the best site and we now come most weekends, a very nice safe site with good staff that try their best to accommodate you.

Well done park farm keep up the good work and don’t let the moan’s stifle your site with rules that are not needed,

We have just enjoyed a weekend at Park Farm. We have been a few times before and this is one of our favourite campsites. The facilities are lovely always clean, with plenty of toilets, showers, hot water and mirrors. The washing up area has 6 to 8 sinks.

It is a busy campsite, you can pitch up in a nice space and come back to find someone else has pitched quite close to you.

We are in our 40's so a busy campsite suits us, the atmosphere is lively but not rowdy, there are a lot of different age groups there so maybe someone wanting a quiet retreat might be a bit disappointed, kids have a great time in the play area so a good site for families.

Campfires are allowed so this is a big plus for us, a guy comes round with logs which are far more reasonable priced than any other campsite we have been too. Dogs are allowed on a lead although I have not seen many there.

The spud man seems to have gone and has been replaced by a cafe, we didn't use it but a lot of people did. We went to a local pub 3. 3 miles away to watch England play it was a great atmosphere and we were made to feel very welcome.

I understand there are a few places to visit locally but we only go camping to sit about and do not a lot.

Overall this is a lovely busy campsite that has great facilities and caters for all ages.

It's somewhere an odd mix of campers with frankly odd residents, groups there to party and large extended family groups. As a couple travelling with no kids we were massively out of place and definitely felt it!

Firstly the facilities were fine. Always clean and well stocked, I really couldn't fault them at all. There wasn't much hotwater for washing up but that wasn't a big problem. There are swings and a short zip line in a disused farm building with no sides which looks more dangerous than it probably is in reality. The shack serving teas and burgers was a nice touch and the guy serving was cool!

It's just down the river from Bodiam as all the other reviews say. Also we went to Rye which was lovely. The next day we went to Battle and the Abbey which, again, was brilliant. I'm from Kent so quite local but this site was excellently placed to visit all the spots I never normally bother with.

The campsite itself was odd in the extreme and not a relaxing experience for me. Perhaps I was looking for something this site simply doesn't offer. I thought it could have used allocated pitches as there's nothing more annoying than pitching up, heading out for an few hours and returning to find people camped literally within a foot of your bedroom area. As a couple we were squashed between a group of around five families with small children and a group of friends. We were there over the first weekend of the World Cup so I'm told the site was exceptionally quiet, and there was more than enough room for everyone. It was annoying!

The whole place felt disjointed and tense. In the evenings it was quite noisy but not a massive problem. It was weird that no one at all observed any kind of rules at the site and it definitely felt more like a festival site than a real campsite. Part of me liked this and part of me has grown out of it.

The residents which had their caravans and extensions fenced off around the edge of the site were an unfriendly bunch and seemed to resent everyone else being there.

So I guess I'm getting round to say that I'm not going to go back with the Mrs. I might with a group of mates but the draw of an open fire isn't enough overall. If you want to relax don't go here. If you want to get drunk in a field then it's your kind of place.

We arrived back from spending a long weekend at Park Farm.

As per other June reviews, we found this camp site very busy when we first arrived, despite reserving.

We eventually found a spot, however and as if by magic, we were slowly surrounded by more and more campers. We found ourselves defending space with our car and furniture.

The positives are the atmosphere, which is very festival like. On Friday there were Chinese lanterns and the occasional rogue firework.

The camp site settled down around 4.30 am. The following day, it was 5.30 am.

Going to Park Farm is NOT a relaxing affair but it is exciting and atmospheric.

The open camp fire is great and brings about a greater sense of community.

The facilities are good, but coping with so many campers meant that no hot water was available.

We came away reflecting on the weekend and concluded that it was a great and exciting experience which could have so easily have been snoresville with a quiter camp site else where and little to report.

Tired and hung over, but worth it!

Me & my boyfriend have just arrived home after a weekend at Park Farm.

Arrived about 8:30pm Friday eve and almost drove straight back home! It was packed!

Decided to look around a bit more as we had just handed over £32 for 2 nights.

Drove around the fields getting more & more despondent but then found the field past the shower blocks and managed to find a spot.

Facilities here are very good: Toilet blocks, separate wash blocks with showers, sinks, mirrors & electric points. Also a washing up room. Hot water is hit & miss but that's expected really.

This place is not the place to go if, like us, you were looking for more peace & quiet. It is more suited to larger groups & families.

There are rules about no loud music but that didn't stop anyone. It did mostly quieten down around 11pm.

It was a strange atmosphere - felt a little like a festival. But without the bands!

You can have a campfire which is great - there are hundreds of fire pits scattered randomly all over the field. We set up our tent with one of these just in front of us (well far enough away to be safe!)

We didn't have a fire the first night as was too late by the time we'd set up, but were really looking forward to one on sat night - it was one of the reasons for booking here. Unfortunately on Saturday a group turned up and pitched in front of us and almost on the fire pit - so we had to go without.

Overall the campsite has a friendly atmosphere and is very relaxed. The facilities are great and everyone seemed to have a great time - and so did we generally. We walked along the river to the castle on Saturday which was beautiful. (castle and walk!). The pub by the castle is lovely with a huge open garden. Seems to be a popular spot for bikers.

If you have a family with kids or planning a group getaway - this is for you.

Just returned from a one night stay on the last sat of half term with 2 young children. Very busy. Lovely facilities, toilets very clean, showers clean and vanity area and washing up room clean but no plugs - take a washing up bowl!

Re previous reviewer's comments on noisy campers be prepared for little sleep - I welcomed the 1am thunder storm that cut noise dead! Lovely atmosphere though especially for groups and those with relaxed attitude - camp where you like - open fires wherever (very smoky though!), logs provided, park next to your tent but beware might get 'pitched in'!

Find your own pitch wherever you fit in. We estimated 1, 800 other campers last night and so rather noisy but considering so packed a great time had by all. Play area a bit basic but didn't explore whole site.

Steam Train line and Bodium castle a 15 min walk (30 mins with kids!) we chose to drive and is National Trust (along with Scotney Castle 15 mins drive away!). Perhaps a separate field for families would be a good idea - then would be perfect!

 Well. The good first.

1. Having campfires was great.

2. We were fortunate enough to have a good space to pitch in and share with our friends that we went with.

3. Where we were was fairly quiet.

4. We stayed till the tues of half term so managed to see the site at it's best

BUT.

1. They just did not turn people away and so totally over filled the campsite, there were people in the farm lane camping!

2. There were 6 ladies showers between all the hunreds of campers. MASSIVE queues. Not fun with a 3 yr old and then it was FREEZING!

3. 8 sinks for washing up. Again not enough facilities. Queuing for that was not fun! and again the water was COLD

4. They had to get a generator as the elec tripped. They were totally unprepared for the numbers they allowed in.

5. They ran out of water! mental!

6. You could hear the beat of loud music all around the site.

7. It made you wonder what facilities you were paying for other than the field and the privilidge of having a campfire!

We will never visit there again. There does need to be some organisation in the management of campsites. Laidback to the extreme.

But we still managed to have a good weekend but only because we avoided the madness and washed up in our van and strip washed rather than showering!

Spent the bank hol weekend at Park Farm with family, this was out first visit. The site was lovely with a really nice atmosphere. The staff were helpful and friendly and the toilet and showers were exceptionally clean. The walk to Bodiam was great and highly recommended.

They have a small cafe in the larger field, but be warned you probably will have to wait 1 hr for food or drink, they seem to only serve one person at a time. Would like to have seen more emphasis on appearance from behind the counter.

The site was packed to the hilt and they did have problems with the water and at one point the electric, but they did not take away what I have said at the beginning.

I will be going back to Park Farm but on a quieter weekend probably wont use the cafe, after all we are camping!
