The toilet and showers were updated last winter and are of a good standard, and kept clean, although a female cleaner thought nothing of wondering into the gents loo while guys were at the urinals which I found a bit strange.
The riverside walk to the castle pub and Bodiam castle itself is very nice, but with kids takes a good 45 minutes, not the stated 20 minutes.
The site cafe is not the cleanest and seems to have a permanent line of teenagers waiting for chips.
The playground seems to be permanently muddy and we had 27 degree heat, the playgound equipment is a bit old and maybe should be replaced.
The staff are nice and friendly but every night is world war three and the noise doesn't stop until about 4am and never a member of staff to monitor it, it seems that after about 9pm, you are 'on your own' type of thing.
If you like drunken rawdy fights and drunk people driving around in the early hours sounding car horns and dogs trying to out bark each other, this is the place for you.
If you are a family who like a peaceful relaxing holiday, don't go near it.
An open fire is nice but it isn't worth sleeping in a warzone for or rather lack of sleep.

Just come back from 3 days at Park Farm.
We were a party of 14 - 6 adults and 8 children.
*Make sure you don't pitch tent in an Electric Hook Up area when you haven't paid for it. Its not that clear and no-one tells you!
We had to re pitch tents!
*Water 'ran out' Saturday and Sunday night - Loos were backed up!
*If you want a warm shower get up at 6 a.M.
*It cost us £84 and I suppose you could say we didn't get what we paid for as water went off! (But.That's camping!?!)
They are the negatives!
On the plus side:
*The Toilets and Showers were well cleaned and well maintained.
*The site was easy going with no silly rules and everyone was very happy go lucky!
*Having a campfire is the best bit.
*The 'coffee hut' was great.
*The kids swung on a rope swing - and entertained themselves!
*The walk to Bodium Castle was lovely and highly recommended.
*There was music but it wasn't that loud and it went off 11 o'clock ish.
We will definitely go back.

Had our first camping trip of the year here over the rather damp May Bank Holiday and have mixed feelings about our visit.
Firstly I cant fault the friendliness of the couple that run this place. They are always on hand to answer questions and offer any help they can. It's a big site with good clean facilities and lots for the kids to do. There is great walks from the site itself and The Castle pub in Bodiam is a lovely spot for a well kept ale from Shepherd Neame and a good hearty meal.
However what I want from a campsite obviously isn't what everyone else wants. Its clear the site has a reputation for accommodating large groups of all ages and that was my problem. I am quite happy with people chatting and laughing in to the night around the campfire. That's what it is all about. Playing loud music until 4am isn't my idea of being a good fellow camper. Despite clear rules saying no music after 11pm and a couple of security guards patrolling at night it seemed impossible to ensure everyone followed the rules. People were asked to turn it down but once they had gone, up went the levels again.
We moved the tent on Saturday morning as Friday night was so bad and moved in to the field dominated by caravans. Still a nice atmosphere but we could actually sleep at night. (turn right after the entrance)
What I wish is that they were a bit more honest about what the site is about. I think its great that a place like this exists and may even go back if I wanted a party weekend with friends.
Generally when I go camping I don't want this so wont be going back. My advice is make your own mind up about what you want before you book.

This is a simple, un-commercialised site with a fairly new shower and toilet block. Level pitches and small kids playground (partly undercover) also several rope swings dotted about which our kids loved. Parents be aware of small, fast flowing river at one end of the site. Some distant traffic noise, but not at all intrusive.
The two wardens were extremely helpful and were excellent hosts. The appalling rain the previous (Easter) weekend had churned up part of the field, but shortly after our arrival, they thoroughly rollered the field which, together with the sunshine meant that all but the worst of the mud disappeared very quickly.
On arrival, the electric in my unit didn't work, and the kind warden discovered it was my lead, leant me a spare and then fixed my lead during our stay, all free of charge. Really appreciated and above the call of duty, thanks!
The site allows camp fires and they sell logs and take group bookings. Historically, it has had a reputation of any thing goes, but the new wardens and security guards mean that any noise pollution is now quickly dealt with, day or night. When you check in, I would advise you to get the 24 hour number from the wardens and then you can let them know if you have any problems.
Burger/Snack van food good quality and not too many additives etc.
On leaving, discovered we'd lost one of the kids' bikes. Again, the wardens came to our rescue, turns out my son had left it in the playground and they brought it back to our pitch for us.
Hope to return to Park Farm soon, thanks for a great weekend!

Just arrived back from our first camping trip this year although I note the weather was wet, windy and extremely muddy the campsite itself is brilliant.
The staff are extremely helpful allowing you to get to your pitch and set up, before having to find your bag to pay the site itself is good flat surface which I've always found a problem at most other campsites. Be warned if your planing to go within the next few weeks ensure you take wellies as its extremely muddy but fun.
The guy with the Tractor will be around should your car happen to get stuck in the mud, which is what the poor guy seemed to be doing all day. The area is very clean, good showers with pretty of room for changing etc, over 12 sinks for washing up, roughly around the same amount of showers and possibly more toilets.
Overall good campsite to go to, lots in the area to do and explore and we all look forward to returning later this year.

Have stayed at this campsite a few times now as it is local and good for a one nighter with just me and the kids, we have always been able to pitch near the Shower/Toilet block and play area without a problem, and have never had any problems with fellow campers being noisy or invading our space.
This is a large site and its just a case of turning up, paying, then finding the right place to pitch your tent (Booking is pointless) we found that out when we first stayed here.
Pitch price is average, they allow open fires and a pickup truck roams the site with logs for sale, the facility's are more than adequate and the on site ice cream and burger vans are very reasonably priced so this site ticks all the boxes for me,
For longer stays and electric hookup its probably best to check the website and make a phone call.
I stay away at Bank holidays as they charge double.

Very large campsite spread over several fields.
Upon arrival the friendly staff invited us to choose a pitch and pay later when the site manager did the rounds. The access and paths are excellent and the atmosphere generally very relaxed. The on site facilities were very good with a couple of hot food stalls selling the usual fayre. What really stood out however were the excellent shower-rooms and WCs. They looked to be new and were spacious and kept very clean with hot water free to guests as part of the entry. The charge was per person or child, regardless of whether you were in tent, or caravan. Well behaved dogs are allowed and there is a reasonable playarea with a few swings, see-saw and a zip-slide.
Allowing campfires was definitely a plus point and so we took advantage of the logs that were being sold on site to fuel ours. I noticed a couple of wardens do the rounds which was re-assuring, however some time after midnight there some loud bellowing coming from a group nearby, they kept up for half hour or so before they moved on by their own accord. It would of been nice to hear the Wardens keep the peace at this point but sadly they were not to be found.
The walk to the nearby Castle, is a very pretty and leisurely walk along the river Rother, which crosses agricultural land with nice view of the Bodiam Castle beyond. I'd say the walk is more like 35 minutes rather than the stated 20 but nevertheless a very pleasant stroll in fine weather.
For supplies, there is the village of Hawkhurst about 3 miles up the road where we found a well kitted out local supermarket, with an excellent range of wines and beers on offer.

A wide open site with plenty of space for camping.
The owners drove round in the evening to check we were all ok and to take payment. You could also buy a bag of logs and kindling for the campfires they allow on site.
There was a separate are for washing up, with warm running water and a shelter from the rain.
Toilets and showers were basic but clean
A thirty minute walk from Bodiam castle along the river - great place to visit.
Need a car to travel out to other places though.
Really liked this site and reasonable price as well.

I wasn't sure if I had arrived at a car boot sale or festival at first, very busy, my first thought was to go home as it looked so chaotic! However as we were meeting friends so stayed and managed to find a space. My poor friends; who couldn't get a space next to us were in another field, sandwiched in between two parties playing loud music, so they spent most of their time with us. Its definitely a place for groups, with the noise and bustle. I was a bit peeeved that around 11pm we were asked by security to stop playing our acoustic guitar, as the decibel rate around us all day had been so high, however fair enough it was 11. But as soon as they had moved all the other loud music started up again !, I don't mind Rod Stewart but not at 3 in the morning! And a foul mouthed argument nearby made me feel insecure. Walk to Bodaaim along towpath breathtakingly lovely though.
Too noisy for me but we did enjoy most of our evening, thanks to being part of a larger group. People selling logs for campfire and chinese floating lanterns made it magical. Bit of a mixed review, I know. If there had been better organisation I think I would have felt happier there.

We took an opportunistic single night's break and felt all the better for it. It's a massive site which - on a hot August weekend - was alive with kids, dogs and bustle. However, everyone seemed to rub along and enjoy themselves without getting in each other's way.
Our pitch was a long way from the amenities and our stay too short to see how well they coped with the number of people.
A big plus-point was the fact that barbecues and open fires are allowed. Most people took full advantage. In fact the site was refreshingly free of fussy rules.
The surrounding countryside is very pleasant, particularly the riverside path to the pub in Bodiam. Although the pub and its garden get busy on a good day, a visit is recommended.
