Our group of four adults two tents and one small dog stayed for one night at Park farm. We had a a great time, it was very busy and the tents were very close together, we could hear the man in the next tent snoring, Everyone were very friendly including the owners who came to collect the money, there is no reception office, so its pitch up were you want even if you have booked. It was a nice feeling of of fun and we caught a lovely big fish in the river, but put it back of course. The toilets were a long walk for us and not very clean, there was a long wait for the showers and they were cold at 11 am. We could only find one water tap on our field. It was great to have no strict rules and to be able to have a log fire, the owners came around and sold bags of logs and disposable B B Q s but its best to take your own at busy times. The children's play area looked rubbish. Despite being busy we had a good nights sleep and not too much noise. The pub called The Castle is a nice walk along the river, it is dog friendly and the food is very good. Some dogs were off the lead, so that was a bit daunting if you are scared of dogs, but most of them were well trained. Its really lovely country side , we will go back many times .

Just got back from a week here with my 6 year old son and husband. We had a fantastic time there was noice on the first night some teenagers were having a birthday party and were still shouting at 4 in the morning but after that the noice level everynight was fine even the teenagers had calmed down , my son loved sitting round the campfire with us and the people were really welcoming im definitly coming back .

Stayed for two nights in the first week of the school holidays, and co-incidentally the first two days of sun of the summer! The owners said it had gone a bit mad and there were far more people than they'd expected.
Loved the site and the fact that you can pitch where you fancy. The only down side was that whilst we were sensible and pitched far enough from others, when more people arrived they squashed in gaps not big enough.
We found the site very very noisy - I spent the first night with a throbbing headache from the thump thump thump of some "music" (less than 10 feet away), that started at about 4 in the afternoon (we can all live with that) but continued until 11 at full volume all the time (and with four small children between us it thought it was a bit much). On the first night the music, to be fair, stopped at exactly 11. Sadly though, the same people continued the party, very very loudly, until 4am .
The next morning, woken by my son and the sunshine at 7am I was feeling a little happier .
Had a lovely cycle to the castle (40 minutes on a bike with four kids . Not 20 minute walk!), came back to find yet more tents in gaps that you thought couldn't possibly be big enough!
Music again started at about 4, this time from a different group, but at least this time it was music rather than just ridiculously loud base. This time it continued until about 12, and when they finally turned theirs down, someone else started! Then there were the fireworks (not fun with a dog in a tent). And when finally the music and fireworks stopped, the party continued until it got light .
On the upside, the kids had a fab time - great play area, "dens" and swinging across the river on swings in the trees. The camp fire was a major plus and the shower, though cold was welcome after my headache nightmare the night before!
The weather was great during the day, but tipped it down both nights (and to be fair this may have been what kept me awake as much as the music/party noise). I found the toilets remarkably clean considering the number of people and the owners were just great .
So, will I go back? The jury's still out. I really liked the site, the location, the facilities, very reasonable price, but I'm very worried about the noise level .
Maybe I'll try it once more .

Stayed saturday night at this campsite and overall had a pretty good time. Very open fields, kind of random when you turn up as there is no office but common sense prevails and you can stick your tent wherever you want which is brilliant. Very busy with lots of large groups and families but no trouble at all. Very 'festival' kind of atmosphere which I liked. Can imagine some people would hate this though so maybe read other reviews before visiting. Nice to have a campfire, buying wood from owner was by pure chance, a wood store by the entrance or something would be more convenient than a roving landrover which is pounced on by fire-craving campers like me. Would be sensible to bring your own. There are a few of what seemed long-term caravans - including one bloke who played his electric guitar loud. Novelty at first but got a bit annoying at 2am. Facilities are in my opinion well below par. Gents toilets were dark and damp - no hot water and were not cleaned as far as I could tell. Showers looked OK when we arrived but by sunday morning they were filthy-mud everywhere, strewn with cigarette buts and beer cans. Not acceptable. Washing-up room was a nice touch. Owners were very friendly and helpful. In conclusion a decent campsite with a great party atmosphere but lacking in modern facilities.

The site is in a lovely location. Had a good weekend. Toilets/showers did let it down. Stayed at many sites in East Sussex and found this site very expensive to pitch. There was no one on site till the evening to collect the money. No reception or little shop so make sure you have milk for tea as it is a drive to nearest shop. And have strong tent pegs in dry weather as we bent all ours due to very hard ground. Play area needs some attention.

We stayed here as "virgin" campers over the Hope festival weekend, I was a bit apprehensive as to what we where going to find, considering the fact that there was the festival on and we have two young kids of 3 and 5. I have to say considering how many people were their over that weekend we had a great time, the facilities were basic but functional. They were kept clean and there was even loo paper (most of the time)! Do remember this was a festival weekend and not a normal weekend camping, so well done to them for keeping on top of things. We loved the fact we could have a camp fire (wood provided!) and both my wife my kids and I had a great time. As we haven't stayed anywhere else camping then I can't make comparisons with other sites but its a thumbs up for us! P.S. There is a fab walk to a pub called "The Castle" following the river for about a mile into Bodiam

Went with another family for a weekend festival - weren't sure what to expect but it was great! Great facilities, great atmosphere, not roudy. Really recomend this site and will definitely be returning for a quieter weekend break with the family. Camp fires an absolute bonus.
One happy camper!

Hi all. Have been to this site twice now. First time was last year summer and again this weekend just gone for the Hope Music Festival.
The first time I went I was greeted with the sight of a young lad of about 10yrs old who was about 15 stone, shaven headed and wearing just a pair of tracksuite bottoms. He was jumping up and down on a huge trampoline with a boxing glove on one hand smacking it into his other hand shouting "Anyone want a effing go, come on anyone I will take anyone. " The sight of this shaven headed lad almost had me turning around and heading off but the other half persuded me not to.
Over that weekend it was actually quite good to be honest. I believe the lad was one of the people that 'lived' there but these people have since been turfed out. I admit I was concerned when driving past the permanent travellers section, it just looked rough and so did the people who lived there. These were not like the traveller/hippie types, these were more like gypsies with their old battered cars and vans lined up next to their tents all lashed together to make what looked like something out of mad max! At that time this was a mjor concern for me but they have gone now and overall there is now a nice feeling about the camp itself.
That weekend though was alright, they kept themselves to themselves and were not a problem although I have spoken to one or two people who did have to go and have words with them over missing bikes and things like that.
This time around we arrived early friday and it wasn't too busy. Got set up and had a brilliant time, joined later on by friends who camped next to us it was excellent with all the kids running around doing their own thing, it felt really safe.
There was a good mix of people there too. Young lads with their 'rave' tent, bikers, old campers, new campers, families with new Audi's/Bmw's and the likes of, it was a good atomsphere throughout. Wandering about the camp you could just strike up a conversation with anyone and not feel awkward about doing so.
It was pretty packed as you would expect and after midnight although there was lots of music going on it was not a problem at all. The thing I didn't quite like though was all the campfires that were lit were creating quite a dense patch of smoke over the entire camp and that got on my chest a bit and I am a smoker! Not the end of the world though, I know the cause of this was simply no wind so I can't moan too much about that really.
The shower and toilet blocks were ok, there seemed to be a bloke there on hand all the time cleaning up and the toilets were ok for that, he done an excellent job.
The kids play area was busy too, the kids loved it and they also went on walks along the river and in the woods.
I will definitely be going back there, it is an excellent site to go and chill out in.
Lots of places nearby, Battle is not too far away and there are vineyards all over the area and a steam railway nearby too.
Overall I would reccomend it no problem. It is a nice camp in a nice part of the world and of course you can have a campfire too.

A cute campsite surrounded by fields that allows you to light your own fire. The hosts can provide you with firewood. The toilet and shower block was fine and there's a barn play area for children and a rope slide [not sure what they are called!]. Lots of families go there. Bodium Castle is lovely and worth a visit but it's just as good to wander around if you don't want to pay to go in. Battle is also nearby and lovely.
