This site hasn't improved since the last reviews posted. The facilities we're at best adequate for our needs with the toilets and wash rooms needing a makeover and improvement to the drainage. We are used to roughing it but do expect to have working toilets and warm showers - only 2 of the five mens showers seemed to be hot and on saturday night only one of the toilets flushed (mens) the other two seemed to have been vandalised.
What we found unacceptable was the level of noise late at night. Perhaps we were unlucky, but a group of bikers were visiting on Saturday night and decided it would be a good idea to rev engines and be generally noisy after midnight. In general campsites that permit fires tend to be more noisy in the evening and this was no exception.
In summary, the site is in a great location and could be so much better if the owners were to enforce the rules in place. The relaxed atmosphere was a bit too relaxed for our liking. The website paints a good picture of the site, which sadly fell a long way short of our expectations after our extended weekend visit.

All in all pretty awful. Dirty toilets and crowded site, noise at night. The local countryside away from the site is lovely but, I wouldn't stay more than one night

We are a family of four. We booked a pitch here for two nights in July 2008. When we arrived we were told to 'just pitch where you can', and paid our money. It was a very warm weekend in school holidays but this campsite was full to capacity. There was just no room to move! Lots of big groups of young lads drinking and loud music playing. How the facilities cope with that number of people is beyond me. They should have numbered pitches which work very well and limit the number of people in busy periods
In our opinion certainly not a 'family friendly' site and very expensive for what it is. We left, got our money back and found a lovely ( and quiet ) campsite nearby.
On the plus side it is in a lovely setting. We did visit Bodiam Castle which is lovely.

POSITIVES
- lovely surrounding countryside within walking distance of bodiam castle and steam railway
- log fires allowed
- easy going atmosphere
NEGATIVES
- extremely busy. They just kept coming and coming. Very tightly packed together and some cars roaring around looking for tiny spots to pitch up.
- very load music even after 11pm as rule not enforced. In fact, didn't see many staff at all.
- love that you can pitch where you want, not the fact that chaos ensues when there are too many people pitching up wherever they want.
- not cheap at £20 for one night for 2 adults and 2 young children.
- snack van advertised on website doesn't seem to exist anymore.
- very litle local information available.
This site is great for groups of people away for a party. Not so great for families with young children who would quite like to get some sleep before midnight.

Excellent if basic site.
Very friendly owners who supply wood.
Will be noisy and lively late at night, but is very popular for this reason (noone comes round telling you off!) PS.I am 56. Our group of between 6 & 16 people, Dads & Kids, have been going there for at least five years. Fantastic fun.
Fires are no problem.
Going again next year!

OK, Very noisy and basic
Stayed here over the weekend of 27th - 29th June 2008 in a large tent ( two adults 3 children )
There are pros and cons to this site.
Pro's
Near Bodiam Castle and the Sussex and Kent Railway.
Plenty of space to pitch up.
Cheap logs & allows you to have a camp fire.
Con's
Busy.
Basic facilities.
Showers and toilets are not adequate for the numbers on the site.
Water in the showers dribbles out and is luke warm at best.
THEY DON'T ENFORCE THEIR OWN RULES
I.E no music after 11pm. We were kept awake until three o'clock in the morning by other residents who were having a party, I like Phil Collins but not a full blast in the early hours of the morning.
Overall we had a nice time, toasting marshmellows over a fire is nice but the music and party atmosphere was a bit frustrating.

We have been to this campsite three times now and have enjoyed our stay very much. The walk along the river to Bodiam Castle is lovely, and the Castle Pub is very good.
The campsite gets very busy which we don’t mind as we go with a group of friends and can pitch our tents where we like and can also take our dogs without anybody moaning about them. We stay up until about eleven playing our music and chatting around the camp fire, we have a really good time.
My only problem with this campsite is the facilities, there is only five ladies toilets with one for disabled access, it would help if there was a bin in each of the toilets as people were throwing their sanitary products on the floor. I know this isn’t the owners fault but I feel it would stop people doing this if they just installed a bin in each loo. We have just returned from a weekend trip, it was so busy the loo’s were blocked and some were leaking, also another sink in the ladies would help, my husband said the mens were no better. I feel the washing up facilities were better than the toilets. I feel I would rather pay a little extra and have better facilities.

The site is in a beautiful setting, kids loved the play area.
Don't go if you're asthmatic as the smoke from all the fires is very heavy.
There was no food van, as promised. The toilets were filthy the whole of our stay and got worse, the owners said the cleaners had not turned up. There were used sanitary towels and every type of bodily waste on the floors the whole of our stay.
There were no staff around except constant vans selling logs, it was also the most expensive site we've been to.
It was also noisy with music playing into the small hours most nights.
If you want a hippy, noisy, festival type site, and don't mind filthy facilities, this is for you, its a bit like glastonbury in the 80s before it got sanitised and child friendly, for that reason despite all that I've said above it made me happily nostalgic for those times, but definitely a no go for the family we are now.

Park Farm is a Back to Basics campsite, The general feel of this campsite is Free and Easy. Also the prices are per Person rather than per pitch We stayed during the Bank Holiday 24 to 26 th May (Rainy season)
Pros/
Massive site 3-4 fields (pitch where you like) Campfires ( beware where you pitch ) no designated places Play Area ( suitable 5-15 yr old ) Burger Van (excellent and reasonable prices) Owners very Helpful
Cons/
Music played after 11pm (forgetting or not caring) Low pressure in Shower blocks (use the older ones their better) No Shop Lower Slope by the Toilets ( ½ Ft Water after a Big Downpour soaking Tents)
Apart from that we really enjoyed our stay, it’s a good site with a real sense of companionship with other likeminded campers
But next time I'm some bringing earplugs to drown out the rain and dampen the music.
Note to Owners, If your finding the Burger Van is making money then a Shop with Basic Supplies would make a mint if run at Busy times. Also Freezer pack facility on site would be good ( though you did freeze our packs at home so thank you)

I liked the idea of the camp fires and that they came round with logs, very basic amenities, not as clean as I would have liked. If you want a no nonsense no entertainment, apart from your own of course, holiday then this is the place to go. Play area was very good. Plenty of room for all. Walks were very good, could have been cleaner in toilets and showers. We will visit again and hope that we find it cleaner than we did.
