We arrived 2pm on the saturday and we eventually found somewhere which wasn't ideal but as we we're only staying for one night we thought it would do. They we're still letting people in at 4pm. It could be a nice site if they didn't let as many people in.

Quite Loud, one field looked like a festival campsite. No Hot water left at 10am on the Sunday morning.

The Surrounding area is really nice and the local pub is lovely with good selection of local ales.

My family and I have been camping at Park Farm every summer for the Past 14 Years. There are no residents at Park Farm,

Noise- in the past there was a lot of noise, this was normally committed by those that come for a quick weekend and obviously had no regard for other campers.

The farmer always had a difficult time trying to control the situations, as he does not reside on the campsite.

All has now changed. There is new management, Max and Lucinda and they do a great job managing the site, they also have two new caretakers Alan and Marcia, they reside on the site during the summer months. I can assure you that if you allow your music to interfere with other camper’s enjoyment you will be asked to leave, if your dog is not under supervision and fouls the site you will be asked to leave.

Point being, there are not many rules on the site and that makes it the special place that it is.

It is a well managed safe comfortable place to bring yourself and your children.

Visited this site which looked good on the website. Arrived to be met by friendly lady who informed us that there was only 2 areas left to park our caravan. The one we picked looked like someone else was going to park there but she managed to persuade them otherwise even though we had booked.

Seemed okay to begin with but as the day went on more and more cars/ caravans etc arriving until the field we were in was reasonably busy. We felt a good idea would be to have a proper pitch as tents were everywhere. That night the tents surrounding us were too near that we were kept awake with their chatter until the early hours of the morning.

The toilets didn't seem too bad but after constant use they must have deteriorated because most people were using the bushes behind our caravans.

We felt that the open fires allowed on the site were everywhere - if anything had been set alight the whole park would have gone up in flames.

On walking round the park we discovered the other field was even more busy with a tv that must have been 10' x 10' on display and a small disco in another tent - perhaps we had come to Glastonbury.

We felt the cost per night was a little pricey considering there was nothing other than a play area and toilets/showers on site making it an expensive site even though it was not the summer holidays.

The surrounding area of countryside and Bodiam Castle a few miles away were perfect

Lovely campsite exactly as the advert says. Clean toilet block and lovely warm showers. Try to stay in the left field as you enter the site as the right hand side field can be very full and noisy. Wood is dry and delivered to your site. We love campfires and wont go to a site if we can have one. Helps to be respectful of the site and have your fire on an existing burned spot.

We have just returned from a great Bank Holiday break at Park Farm. We had visited before, 2 years ago and the improvements made since then have made a big difference.

We did have some minor nagging points, one being that a one night 'camper' arrived late on Sunday with a white van to sleep in and pallets of wood and furniture to create a large bonfire, not a small campfire. Thankfully the sparks didn't seem to cause any damage. The hot water got used up quickly (but it was a busy weekend) and the dressing area in the shower could do with being raised so your clothes etc don't get sopping wet while trying to dress. That said, this is camping and mostly, the sound of groups of people chatting, laughing and yes, singing around their bbq's and campfires provides a fantastic relaxed atmosphere. The free choice of pitch used to be a bit of a pain as you'd have to get down early to grab a spot but this Bank Holiday it seems Park Farm shut its books early, leaving plenty of grass between tents for the children to ride bikes and families to set up games of cricket.

Park Farm has great re-cycling facilities so take a few cheap bins or bowls for plastic, tins and glass.

We took our children on the 20 minute walk (45 mins with small children) to The Castle pub opposite Bodiam Castle (along the riverbank). Along the way there were 2 rope swings across the river, butterflies, steam trains and a steady stream of fellow campers to keep us entertained. I would advise booking at The Castle if you want to eat with small children as it does get busy but the pub serves good food and has a large grassy area where you can picnic from their menu, leaving your kids to run off and play while you relax!

The 'resident' campers were friendly and some have beautifully decorated sites. What a great place to pitch a caravan for the year and just pop down when you need to unwind.

We arrived on Good Friday with a warm welcome. Although the facilities were not completed, they were adequate for our needs and very clean and can say that they were cleaned regularly.
The site had a really good atmosphere and the people were all very friendly. We had a fabulous time and would definitely go back there again. When all the facilities are up and running it will be more of a great place.
You can pitch where you like and have camp fires and it feels so free. If people want an all singing and dancing site with 5* then don't come to Park Farm. If you want to 'camp' have fun and feel free in this lovely area then and what will be great facilities then come and enjoy yourselves. That after all is what life is all about.

I arrived Good Friday, so was expecting the site to be busy. As I arrived, I was asked to pay, by a group of people I assumed were the land owners, the rate charged was slightly more than advertised on here. Pitching was something of a free for all! Pitch where you wanted! No concerns about distance between units here! The facilities consisted of the odd tap run off of a builders pipe hose poking out of the ground, the waste drain was unmarked so I assumed I was using the correct one, with no signs it was hard to tell! There was no hose to help with cleaning down in this area, and I have a horrible feeling the drinking water tap round the corner was probably used for cleaning toilet containers! The showers were dreadful, no water on occasions and barely warm! Fires are certainly encouraged by the owners as they were busy flogging wood to everyone, as a result there are scorch marks all over the grass. The pitch we decided on, we later discovered was fouled with dogs mess and a pair of pants (from a previous occupier, I guess).

And the noise at night was dreadful, every night of our stay we endured loud music and shouting until approx 4am! There seem to be a lot of seasonal pitches here too, occupied by large families who all seem to know each other, which makes for a fairly friendly atmosphere as they were all happy to chat with us, that said, these people seem to be the main offenders of previously mentioned problems, playing loud music day and night and allowing there dogs to foul the site, generally making the place look untidy and going about this behaviour unchallenged as I guess they provide the site with a steady income.

The surrounding countryside is lovely, there is a pub and lovely moated castle approx 25mins brisk walk away (not 15 mins as suggested on site details). And I'm sure on a quieter weekend if you only require electric hook up and water you could have a pleasant enough stay.

We visited at Easter in a tent, with our friends who had a caravan. Easter must have crept up on these site owners unexpectedly, because nothing was anywhere near finished (despite the site closing for winter last October?) Why didn't they keep it closed until they HAD finished the improvements(or half their prices instead for people that had arrived pre-booked?)

The chemical waste point was a manhole cover near the shower block which you lifted up (no handle though!)and poured waste into (without even a tap for rinsing)- disgusting

There were 3 showers for the Ladies and 3 for the gents - no bench to put your clothes on or shower curtains to keep anything dry - and opposite were bare plaster walls and floors for the remaining planned ones I presume. Also no extraction. There was an adjacent room with about 12 sinks in it (but no soap dispensers or facilities for drying your hands and no cubicles so you couldn't get a wash in privacy). The Gents water supply was a trickle if the Ladies was busy.

The toilets were housed in the next door block and consisted of six toilets- but bare concrete floors and no hand wash sinks - you had to go next door to wash your hands into a separate building

There was a shell of a building for the planned washing up facilities (so people were doing this in the washroom area - yuch!) And all of this for the cost of £31 a night for 4 adults with an electric hook up!

There was no facility to freeze any ice packs etc.

The atmosphere was however laid back, and you were allowed to build your own camp fires with the logs the staff were selling each day. The staff that we met were friendly and appeared highly embarrassed about the unfinished facilities and indeed were taking the brunt of the many complaints!

There were also a lot of 'caravan villages' dotted around the two fields with what appeared to be groups of resident caravans and accompanying awnings with vast areas around 'their' camps fenced off with windbreaks and even housing pub beer-garden sized kids trampolines etc! People were even mowing 'their' lawns when we arrived on Friday.

So all in all, this site is currently a couple of large unmown fields reached by a rough field track with very limited facilities and lots of 'resident' campers where you can have your own campfire. The choice is yours.

As caravan owners we are 'Residents' of park farm from April-October.

For us this site offers all elements that nature provides for our children, getting away from the smoggy air of large towns to lush greenery and vast areas in which to play safe only heightens our love for this place.

The facilities which do exactly what they say on the tin EHU, WC, showers, washing up, chemical toilet disposal all function and are cleaned regularly.

The barn which holds some entertainment for the children suits them and being under cover means rain or shine the kids can play without worrying about the weather.

Open camp fires are a delight here too the stunning atmosphere these create take conversations with friends and loved ones to the wee small hours.

The lakes hold fish which you can catch should you desire or take a stroll along the paths to Bodium Castle.

On most occasions you see hot air balloons floating effortlessly above you these are a sight that you don't want to miss if balloons are your thing.

The staff are friendly & approachable they work very hard day and night but bear in mind this isn't their only jobs and they cannot be in two places at once, however they always deal with problems however small to the best of their ability.

The fees are very reasonable and the rules are few.

If you expect a 5 star hotel set up then your in the wrong place, it is what it is acres of land.

Some months will be busier than others obviously ! but on the whole noise and disrespect for the place comes from a few who are dealt with swiftly.

We love park farm and continue to be 'residents' year after year our children love it and all our friends do too.

The best advice I can give is to treat the place as you would do at home, you will make your stay there a very pleasant and enjoyable one.

My partner and I decided to go camping this year for the first time together and since our last time when we were both very young. We stayed from the 25th till the 28th and have just arrived home and feel compelled to leave a review.

We have had the most fantastic long weekend ever and the weather was superb. On arriving we were met by one of the 'girls' who worked there. She was so helpful and helped us in deciding the best place to pitch, especially since the weekend was coming and she said it would be busy.

So we pitched up at the far end of the field away from everyone and then had a look around. The facilities were adequate (I thought they were great considering we were on a campsite and I remember when I was a kid having holes in the floor for toilets!), there was enough toilets / showers for everyone. Water was hot and inviting. The only downside would be there was not a lot of pressure in the showers and the main doors to the shower and toilet rooms did not exist which allowed the cold in. Washing up facilities was super too.

The atmosphere is very friendly and relaxed and everyone was very helpful.

The farmer and his family are very inviting and will help you if need be.

The weekend came and a lot more people arrived but it was not overcrowded and the atmosphere grew into great happiness.

Lots to see on the land and in the surrounding area.

Great place to stay this time of year for relaxation if you don't mind the cold!

We will definitely be going again.

Thanks to everyone there that helped us 'noobies' and made us feel very welcome, hope to see you again soon.
