Third visit this year. It is very basic and that's it charm. Sitting round the log fire (3 bags for £10) sipping on a cold beer as sun goes down. Excellent. Four extra fields were pressed into use this bank holiday, so it was never cramped. Kids can play freely - often returning soaked from an (unexpected) dip in the Rother, that runs along one side of the site. Walk along the river to the pub & castle. The Kent & East Sussex steam railway run trains up to Tenterden, 1 min walk from the pub. Pub has huge grass area running down to the river - for kids with any energy left.

August 2005 We spent a full Bank Holiday weekend at the site and I get the feeling that this is the busiest and loudest weekend of the year - there had to be well over 300 tents and Vans there. However, we picked a quieter field as we wanted a relaxed weekend and thats what we got. Party's where going on up on the other fields but the music wasnt so loud to disturb and was switched off early enough. Campfires were a great touch, and everyone was checking out each others campfire to see whose was burning best.
Its in a great location for exploring the Cinque Ports, loads of things to do and great for Rambling if you are into that.
The only down side was the Toilets and Showers, they just couldnt cope with the amount of people who turned up. Toilets were replenished with paper a few times a day but it did run out often. My boyfriend also told me that the mens were sadly vandalised, which is such a shame because the people who run this site are so friendly and accomodating! An update of the Showers and Loos would make this site almost perfect.
I would be making a trip back there, as on a quieter weekend I am confident it would be a lovely site. However, If I was planning on camping in a group - this site would be a must - as there are none of those stuff rules about bedtimes and bbq's. The upshot of this site is - to have the great benefits of campfires and relaxed rules, then you have to expect some lively spirits and queues for the loos !

August 2005 I took my girlfriend to this site and we had the most romantic time as the setting is absolutely beautiful and we had a campfire at night to keep us warm and to cook dinner over!
In the morning, after we cooked our own breakfast we took a 15 minute stroll along the River Rother to Bodiam Castle and then stopped at the pub for Sunday lunch. Unlike other sites we did not have to pay for Sunday unless we wanted to stay the night, so we eventually dragged ourselves back to London at 7pm. At £5 per person per night I thought it was extremely reasonable!
There is a relaxed atmosphere and the other campers were very friendly, yet everyone respected our privacy.
Other sites we've visited have been so regimented which has meant that we were constantly having to follow rules - hardly restful a break. At Park Farm there are signs up asking people to turn music off by midnight and to put dogs on leads, although there is no 'security', the campers are respectful of one another (one was even born on the site 40 years ago!)
The warden on site did a good job of keeping the loos clean, and topped up with loo rolls, and there was endless hot water.
We would highly reccommend Park Farm and are already planning out next trip back!

May 2005 Despite the reviews we decided to give this site a go. We went in family groups with kids as young as 3yrs. It was excellent. Building the camp fires was great fun and very addictive! The facilities are very basic; but the easy going and fun atmosphere more than make up for it. It was lively on the Saturday night - with singing and dancing going on into the early hours for some campers! But Sunday night all was quiet and it was our kids making all the noise! A great site to really let your hair down, relax and not worry!

May 2005 We read the reviews, and thought would give it a go. Glad we did now as it was nothing like what others had said, the showers were not like a hotel but were clean and hot water was available all day. The toilets were clean also. People did enjoy themselves but there was no trouble. So will be definatley going back again. Would recomend this as you can have fires on a evening. Shops are a couple of miles away but all in all a good site to visit.

August 2004 Third visit in past three years. This year was pleased to see that the toilet/shower/washing-up block has been updated and is better set out now (see reviews below). This is the campsite to come to if you are sick of campsites where you are told where you can pitch your tent... what you are and are not allowed to do... what time to go to bed at..!!! You can do whatever you like here. Each time I have been, there have been kids/dogs/campfires/fireworks/music (this year there was a band on in one corner of the second field). So don't come if you want to be in bed asleep by 9pm but do come if you are friendly and easy-going as that's what everyone else is like. Will be coming again next year!!

October 2004 We have been going to Park Farm on and off for many years. Having just started camping again, now the proud owners of a motorhome, we went back for our first, second and third trips. Yes it is basic and the toilets, showers and washrooms could do with updating. However there is not a long list of do's and dont's. You do get a wide variety and mix of different types of people but it is camping how it should be. You can have a campfire and pretty much please yourself. If you like organised, tidy sites with cut grass and rules that say bedtime is at 10pm then don't go! Otherwise it really is a terrific camp site.

26 August 2003 We followed our friends once in the summer and had a great time. The fires are a big plus. The loos etc where fine.
We are going back again with a load of other folk. The other campers have been a great mixture as ever. A top site.

25th of August 2003 A lovley camp site with lots to do such as a walk by the river or a visit to the castle. Could improve if toliets and showers were a bit nicer. If going dont forget your camp fire wood !! camp fire is a must !

August 2002 A very spacious relaxed site. Owned by the farmer and adjacent to farmland, but there is a warden on site to keep the place clean. 4 toilets in the ladies and 3 hot showers + washbasins and large sinks for washing up and of course a chemical disposal point and a telephone on site. An adventure type playground with tyre swings etc - more suitable for older children and it is possible to have open fires there. The river runs at the bottom end of the site but there is no access due to overgrown fauna , but perhaps this is a good thing as far as children are concerned. A great place for large groups of people. £5 per adult per night and £1 per child regardless of whether tent, or caravan.
There are no shops or amenities within walking distance although we did walk along the river to Bodiam (about half an hour) where there is the Castle (National Trust) and two pubs which serve food (one was in the castle grounds). We would definitely go there again.
Glad we found this on your site.
