Went along with a few of my family members over the Easter weekend, we had such a lovely time. I must say that the toilets and showers were the cleanest I have seen on a campsite. I was also concerned with the reviews of noise etc but I can quite honestly say that there were no issues at all. Infact you could practically hear a pin drop come 11pm, there were people still around there camp fires but that is what you would expect. There were several young groups around the place but even they were no problem at all.

All in all we really enjoyed ourselves and have booked up for the Jubilee weekend.

With all due respect to other peoples opinions, I think maybe they should not go anywhere where they allow campfires or family groups because the main objective of a campsite like this is for people like me to come with my family and have quality time, which we did and the place was full of people like us. It had a lovely friendly feel to the place and we were left alone to get on with enjoying our time with our family which was great.

A lady staff member even came round to have a chat with us asking if everyone was alright and asked if we were having a good time

They also had a lovely clean fish and chip van on the Saturday night which the food was delicious.

The staff were really nice and welcoming and so very friendly.

Would I recommend this site for families, yes most definitely, our grandchildren made so many friends and subsequently had a great time, they slept like logs after playing all day.

We did not do the walk to Bodiam because of the weather, which I am told by other members of my family was really nice, we hope to to that in June.

The only thing against really is that the nearest shop is around 3 miles away. The site could really do with something so people do not have to drive so far.

We are all looking forward to our next visit.

Liked the idea of a campsite that allows fires, unfortunately that attracts large groups who are inconsiderate to other campers with their loud music etc.

The children's play are looked good, some of it under cover. The walk along the river to Bodiam castle was lovely. Shame that my experience of this site was spoilt by groups of inconsiderate people.

Going by my experience of this site over a weekend I can't recommend.

Arrived at Park Farm on Saturday afternoon we parked the car and checked in at front gate. They did not accept any card just cash and was surprised to find out three night minimum stay. We only wanted to stay Saturday and Sunday, also the cost was much higher than advertised on the web site we paid £81. 00 for two adults and a child. When it should of been £8. 00 per adult and £4. 00 per child. Just because a Bank Holiday Weekend it was a very expensive two night break would of been cheaper in a B&B.

We managed to squeeze into a pitch near to the Children's play area as it was extremely busy, we had a large area which was great, however there was four large holes in the ground which had camp fires in, so trying to pitch the tent around these holes was challenging.

The showers were clean and very tidy also the toilets were clean and always had toilet paper which is a bonus.

They had a burger van which was very nice and also small sweet tent and ice cream van. Nearest shops were the next town which was approx 2 miles so make sure you take everything you need.

Play Area was an old Barn which was ok but quite basic our daughter met many friends there so she was happy.

Overall we had a great time as weather was very good, But it was just a little expensive for us :-(

We stayed at Park Farm for two nights. We booked this site due to it's proximity to Hastings and Bodium Castle and as a test pitch for our new tent before our main holiday in August.

We arrived at midday on Saturday and booked in at the front desk. I filled in our booking card and was given a sticker for our car and directed to our pitch. After driving to our pitch we were told by a neighbour to request a different pitch as the one we had been assigned was used as a walkway to the toilet block. DH asked to move and the owner said that was fine.

As we had booked an electric pitch(R8) we had a clearly defined area to pitch in around the edge of the field. Non-electric campers were in the middle of the field and they had no defined pitches.

The showers, toilets and washing up facilities were fine. Quite a queue for the ladies showers at peak times in the morning but these can be avoided by going early in the morning or in the afternoon. The toilets were always clean and well stocked and the dish washing facility was fine.

Sometimes you had to queue but not for too long (about ten mins) again at peak times. The only problem we had was that the washing up sinks had no plugs and we forgot our washing up bowl, this was solved by placing an upturned cup over the plug hole!

Another reason we had booked this site was because they allow camp fires. The log man came round in his pick up and sold you firewood and away you went. The kids 10, 9&4 thought it was the best thing about the trip. Roasting marshmallows over the fire and chatting well into the night.

Some reviews have complained about the camp fire burn marks in the ground but we didn't find it too bad. We had our fire right at the front of the pitch but the previous user had had a fire right in the middle of the pitch. As long as you check the ground for anything sharp and lay down a ground sheet there shouldn't be a problem.

The kids were happy about the burger van and ice-cream van that were present on the site. Very reasonably priced food and drink and a god send when you arrive and haven't had enough time to get to the supermarket to stock up!

The nearest large supermarket we found was about 8m miles away in Hastings but I am sure there was one closer we just didn't find it! There are no shops in walking distance and no shop on site so make sure you have everything you need before you get back for the evening.

Overall we had a great time and will definitely be back.

Have been to this site many times for the last 4-5 years and have seen it change quite a bit.

Comparing to what it used to be like, they have spent money on doing the shower, toilet and washing up blocks up and added a few more electrical points.

The facilities are cleaned daily and there is a children's play area under an open barn which is quite basic but still fun.

The best thing about this site is that you are allowed to have camp fires but have to say some people can be irresponsible so make an assessment who you are camping next to before you pitch.

They have now built an office block at the entrance where you pay your monies and sign a disclaimer and then go off and find a place to pitch unless you booked electric.

They have now a burger van on site and have security that patrol all night so they controlled the noisy campers and those trying to light up sky lanterns when they are banned.

Facilities are good but can get packed in busy times. Lots to see in the surrounding area and there are some lovely walks and castles nearby.

Generally a great site but personally would keep away in the school holidays unless you like the busy feeling!

We went on a bank holiday weekend and luckily were put in the overflow field at the back which was very peaceful. The main field was incredibly busy and I'm glad we weren't in there.

It was good to be able to have a campfire where we wanted.

The cleaning staff did a fantastic job of keeping the shower and toilet block cleaned regularly.

Very nice walk along the river to the Castle Inn pub and on to Bodium Castle.

All in all a good campsite but not sure I would go back due to the busy noisy field!

I Love this campsite. My boyfriend and I go once a year with a group of friends and we thoroughly enjoy it.

I am aware that this site can get REALLY busy, and actually, I can imagine that being a little tiresome. However, we make the effort to avoid bank holidays and generally we have not had any problems.

Although security is in place, there are security gates and CCTV, it does not feel intrusive or have that nanny state feel to it. They allow patrons a lot of freedom, park where you want, pitch where you want, have open camp fires, bring dogs.Etc etc.

However, I have noticed that over the years they are becoming more family focused. For example, this year a Warden came around at 11 pm and very politely asked us to turn off our music (which was on very low via an Ipod and potable speaker -not a massive sound sytem)which we happily did. We had no problems with others making noise in the night.

The facilities are basic, but I must say, the cleaning staff do a good job. The toilets and shower blocks were refurbished a few years ago and are still in good condition. Its not the ritz. But who expects that from a camp site. They are well maintained and I have never had to queue (baring in mind I don't go at the busiest time of the year)

The location is great, lovely walk to the castle where you can have a nice pub lunch. ALso, the site has a snack van where you could get a cheap evening meal, like a jacket potato and a bacon butty for breakfast.

If you want a relaxed clean and safe site then try Park Farm Camping, but I would recommend avoiding the obvious busy seasons for the best experience.

Just returned from a three night break at Park Farm Camp Site and not sure where to begin.

Firstly we had been double booked, however this was no major issue. The booking and confirmation was all done via email so not sure how they managed to make such a mistake with the booking.

We were a party of three families and all managed to pitch next to each other which was great. Pitching the tent and trying to avoid the large craters in the ground left from the open camp fires that are allowed on this site was difficult. There are holes everywhere. It seemed like a great prospect to be able to have a log fire burning whilst sitting around and relaxing at night, however the amount of smoke and burning smell was overwhelming.

Sitting around and relaxing was not possible. Large groups of young adults, playing drinking games to loud music, using their car horns and chatting / shouting / swearing to 4am was something we were not expecting.

We also bought our dog along, as this site claims to welcome dogs. We never saw one dog mess bin. Which meant some people didn't bother to clear up the dog mess. Not ideal when children are playing.

The toilet block is cleaned regularly. On many occasions there was a queue for the showers, and lack of hot water. As the site is so large it would benefit from an additional toilet block, this may also solve the problem of people urinating next to their tent.

On a positive note the site is in an idyllic location. You can take a stroll along the river to The Castle Inn Pub, which serves a good lunch.

Overall we would not recommend this camp site to families.

We have just got back from a wonderful weekend here. Although it was supposed to rain, the weather held out.

We took our dogs along with us who also enjoyed the site.

The toilets and showers were clean and there was hot water. Beware of the showers though, they are quite powerful and if you are not careful your stuff can get wet!

In the evening we had wood delivered to our pitch and we were able to make a campfire. As the BBQ we took with us was useless, we used it's grill on the campfire (held up by a log in each corner) to cook our meals. This is how camping should be.

All the staff we spoke to were very friendly.

If I had to find fault with the site, that would be that there is no shop on site and there is none within walking distance (would have to take car), something I found out when I forgot to pack the tea bags. The other half was not impressed, but I made do with the beer I took along.

We took a walk along the river bank to Bodiam castle. Just before the castle we stopped off at the pub for some lunch. The food there was very good.

Site location marked down by 1 as not close to shops - not their fault and facilities marked down by 1 as nowhere to get essentials. Otherwise this place was perfect and we will definitely go back.

Just returned from this campsite. We stayed over the bank holiday weekend and we had a great time. THe location is great and check in staff very friendly and helpful. We had booked an electric hook up, which I was very pleased with, the pitch was a great location, it was big enough to put two large tents on (our friends were joining us), and just the right distance from the toilet block. THe kids play area was basic, but the kids enjoyed it, and how lovely to have your own camp fires, a great experience. There was a snack wagon on site, which did a great hog roast on Sunday. I must say it was very busy, with a fun, but safe atmosphere,. I would not have liked to pitch without the hook up as it got very cramped in the middle of the field. My criticism, would be the the facilities. There was one shower block with 6 ladies shower for the whole site! At 8.30 in the morning the water was cold, as too was the water in the wash rooms. The areas were clean, as were the toilets, however there were toilet seat missing and a lock missing of one of the showers. This didn't didn't spoil our break, but can't recommend staying longer than 3 nights due to this. All music etc was off by 11 o'clock so no issues with any noise.

I would recommend this site, good feel to site, friendly staff, logs delivered to your tent every evening, however facilities let it down a little.
